Jim's Tile & Remodeling

Description of Work: Would not recommend. Do your homework. We hired Jim through a Handyman business to remodel a basement bathroom. The job was to consist of a complete installation of a custom shower tile with special soap box, installation of tile on bathroom floor, install lighting fixtures, vanity, toliet, plumbin, and hardware. A total price of the entire job was to be $4030. We were asked to provide a 50% payment up front of $2000.00. The job was stated to take 4 days to complete. Project was to start on 11/14/12 The project started off well for first 2 days. Then started a string of conflicting "stories/excuses" over a 5 day period. Most were so serious in nature that you didn't feel right to question the validity. The overall quality of the work completed was sub-par. Of the tiles installed in the shower, the grout lines did line up, the boarder which ran around the shower stopped short and hit the soap niche. The spacing between the tiles varied throughout the shower, the floor tiles were installed in the shower pan had a drastic bump in the pitch in two places. 8 days into the project, the bathroom and shower were far from complete and we made a discision to severe the relationship.

Description of Work: Con man or crook???? I employed Jim McCue to retile walls and floor in a walk in shower along with the floor and walls outside the shower. Also, new plumbing fixtures, vent fan and pocket sliding door. I also hired him to repair tile in another bath and replace two vent fixtures and add additional insulation in the craw space beneath the baths to make them warmer.
