JAKE'S PAINT & DRYWALL LLC

Jake's Paint and Drywall is our primary painters for our Creekside apartment complex of 600+ apartments and has completed over 60 paint jobs for us so far. Our apartments at Creekside are higher end / luxury apartments so quality and timeliness is of great importance. We are very pleased with the quality, customer service and punctuality with this company. We highly recommend Jake's for anyone need professional painting and drywall services.

Once I decided to use Jake's, he rescheduled me three times over the course of three weeks. Additionally, when I read that another member on Angie's List had trouble with cleanup when using Jake's, I mentioned cleanup specifically to him, and he raised the price of the estimate. During the three week time period, we corresponded via email, and eventually I told him that I would have to go with someone else for the job. I said that I would keep him in mind if things did not work with the other company. He wrote back to say that they do not really deal with "fix-up" jobs, and that if I wanted a quick job, to go to someone else. He also said, with regard to the painting job, that he did not care to do the project anyway. Additionally, he had copied the email response to several other people within his company. I thought his response was unprofessional and presumptuous, since he assumed that I was rejecting his service, when I was really just trying to get it done in a timely fashion. It is frustrating to think that I could have had the job done by now, if it were not due to all of the rescheduling and follow-up.

Chris was prompt in setting up an appointment for an estimate and always answered his phone when I called. They were able to do the work in the time I wanted, and even worked on a weekend. All the employees were prompt and professional. I am renovating an older house and when they were finished, the walls looked great. There are two concerns though. When the workers were done with the job, they just left without informing me what so ever. I didn't realize they were gone until I went downstairs, saw my front door wide open and no one around. I looked over the work and realized that a spot they were suppose to patch up was not done. I called Chris to tell him what happened. He was very professional and did send the supervisor back over (the same day) to finish the work. The other concern is that they did not clean up after themselves. They used my kitchen sink and left drywall dust and some mud on the sink and refrigerator. They also left some drywall mud on a window and the front door. I'm glad drywall mud cleans up easily with water and that I have a shop-vac so I was able to vacuum all the dust, etc. that was left behind. Although they did a great job on the drywall part of the job, it seems the ball was dropped on the cleanup. I will have to think twice before I hire them again.

Jake's did an excellent job on this home which was a rehab on a historic Arts and Crafts style home. Pricing was reasonable and the contractors were reliable and showed up on time. The quality of work was great and completed to my satisfaction. Highly recommend!
