+ -1 moreThe quote process was very professional which is why I chose this company. The day they were to install the window, the company did not show up. After a couple calls, I found out their truck broke on route to our house. I did not receive a price break or anything for this inconvenience. They came a few days later, arriving at the last minute of their time frame. The window was installed as requested and looks good installed. The clean up was not the best; I found debris in the yard afterwards.

+ -1 moreWhen you finish the questionnaire online it says they will call you back. But they never called. I called them back and they could not give me an estimate on the phone. I don't think they should advertise free online estimates if they cannot give them.

Both appointment for estimate and the time frame for the completion of the actual installation were done on time. This is a professional company with quality work. I would recommend to friends and family. The windows look great.
Description of Work: He replaced two single pane steel frame 30 X 14 inch basement windows with class block windows that included a vent in each. The metal frame (PAN) that frames the old windows in the block wall were left in place, which provided a more secure and better looking finished job (salesman's suggestion).

I believe I have used them about 15 years ago and their work was good, but their reply time was very slow, and I used 1st Choice since they came inside to give me an estimate, and answered the questions that another company raised, as I mentioned on the work description.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for installation of glass block windows in my basement from the outside. They never entered the basement and communicated by e-mail which was fine. However they never replied to one concern for a long time, and another company from Angie's list gave me an estimate, by entering my home and answered all of my questions that were raised by another concern that also was on the list. The latter company did not perform glass block work exclusively, and their salesman was clueless and made several incorrect statements regarding the installation of my windows and the type of block that his company used. He also raised several issues about the removal of my existing windows that were totally fraudulent, so that is why I wrote back and wanted their sales to enter the premises before I would agree to having the work performed.

Called within the first hour to notify of cancellation. They were able to re-schedule for following week. Time frame was 8 am to 10:30; workers showed up promptly at 8 am. Were friendly and courteous and finished job by 9:30. Took care to clean up after job. We love the new windows-very nice installation job.

+ -1 moreThe person who came out to give the estimate was very nice. Explained about the different types of windows and had a window sample so that we could see what it would look like. The person who came out to install was also very nice. The only problem was he was not as neat as I would have hoped. I had to clean up mortar or whatever he used to install the windows on the carpeting and the kitchen floor and front hallway where he entered and exited. It wasn't a lot and it wasn't hard to remove. We had plastic window well covers that he removed and left on the patio. The weather was extremely cold so I'm sure it may have been an oversight. We absolutely love the windows. No more cold air and definitely more secure.

CALLED 15 TO 20 MINUTES AFTER APPOINTMENT, SHANE SAID HE HAD TO GET A KEY FOR ANOTHER JOB, WAS LEAVING THE OFFICE, WOULD BE AT MY HOME IN 15 TO 20 MINUTES, AND WOULD CALL WHEN HE WAS CLOSE. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, NO PHONE CALL OR ESTIMATOR. CALLED THE OFFICE TO DISCOVER THAT SHANE IS THE GENERAL MANAGER. CANCELLED MY IN HOME APPOINTMENT FOR ESTIMATE. IT SEEMED CLEAR THAT IF THIS IS HOW THE GENERAL MANAGER TREATS CUSTOMERS, IT IS PROBABLY NOT SOMEONE I WISH TO DO BUSINESS WITH. QUITE A SHAME BECAUSE I WAS READY TO SIGN TODAY. ADDITIONALLY, WE PLAN TO BUILD IN THE NEXT COUPLE YEARS, AND HAVE ALREADY CONSIDERED HAVING A GLASS BLOCK SHOWER, AND WILL PROBABLY NEED BASEMENT WINDOWS.
