 + -1 moreThey are upfront. If you don't need something fixed, they don't tell you that you need something fixed. They try to do it the best way they can do it. They've been really good with that. We have five cars.
Description of Work: We use Howiler's Auto Service. We had an oil change and things like that. We asked him to look for other things and usually they tell us if there is something wrong, but there wasn't anything wrong.

 + -1 moreI haven't had any work started yet, but he has given me estimate about 1/8th of the price of the other garages around the area. He gave me a fairly low price on the parts, and I didn't feel like he was up-charging me for the work. He was able to schedule me in pretty quickly, which is good because the work that is needed is needed promptly, as it deemed "dangerous". I look forward to seeing the finished product.
Description of Work: I am in the process of using Howiler's to stabilize a broken part on the rear axel of my car.

 + -1 moreI had a transmission fluid leak on an old Jeep that I drive, and they were able to identify the issue as a simple fix. There was a minimal cost to repair the leak, and they even topped off the other fluids. I couldn't have been happier with the service. They also kept it inside overnight, since I couldn't return until the next day to pick it up.

 + -1 morethat did not need to be replaced at this time. The S belt was also in good condition and did not need replacement. Any other shop would have taken us to the cleaners and back. This is why I continue to do business with this shop and will recommend and use for future needs.
Description of Work: I have done business with Mike and Rob for a number of years. Our Hyundai needed scheduled maintenance and I did not want to deal with the dealer after several bad experiences. I made the appt with Mike with a list of items that the manual stated needed to be done. I was shocked when Mike called me later in the day and said the vehicle was ready and the bill was for changing anti-freeze, oil change, pulling and inspecting the plugs

Description of Work: I have been using this business for years. My daughters AC went out and after she received other estimates to solve the problem, I took the car over to Mikes. The estimate involved replacing the compressor which was reasonable. The car was completed as requested at the quoted price. Now everyone is happy.  + -1 moreThe job went okay. I still have a leak and I haven't taken it back. I wish they would have found the leak and I just haven't taken it back that's my fault. They told me to bring it back in and I never did. They did a lot of work. They didn't find the leak for the first time.

 + -1 moreThey charged quite a bit for not accomplishing much. I don't think the truck was in any better shape after they were finished than it was when I took it in.
Description of Work: I asked them to try to track down an electrical problem that was causing my battery to drain on my truck. They couldn't find it. They suggested a cutoff switch that would cut everything to the battery so it wouldn't drain. It didn't work. They also accidentally detached the odometer / speedometer cable.
