 + -1 moreI called their office about 4 or 5 times and left 2 messages. I told them that I was waiting and asked that someone call me. But all I got was a recording. About 20 after noon today I called and got a hold of the guy that was supposed to come out. He acknowledged his mistake and was very apologetic. He said he forgot and failed to look at his appointment book and gotten tied up with some other things that affected his concentration. He understood me wanting to cancel with him. Approximately two hours later, Tom Defibaugh with Home Craft Remodeling, called me back and heartedly apologized four times. He said to make it up to me he will refund my purchase. He also nicely wished me luck with getting the work done if we don't choose him for the job.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for $49 for Custom Kitchen or Bathroom Design Consultation with 3D Plans with Homecraft Remodeling Inc. They were supposed to come on 12/4 at 10 am. He called and said he couldn’t make it. I asked if he could make it on 12/5. He said he didn’t have anything scheduled for that day, and I assumed it would still be the 10 am appointment. 10 o'clock came and no one showed up. 11 o'clock came and no one showed up.

 + -1 moreWe had a quick response to schedule the consultation. Tom was very helpful and through, staying a long time to talk with us about our wants & needs in terms of a remodeled kitchen. He said to contact him if he was not back with us in three weeks. He wasn't & we did. He apologized & said he would get back with us. We told him we were not in a hurry. It has been two more week, so I will be calling him again. We didn't pay much for the service and let him know we were not in a hurry, so it hasn't sbeen a problem yet.
Description of Work: This was a $49 Angie Special for a consultation and 3D redesign for our kitchen. We have had the initial consultation, but are still waiting on the 3D design. We have not been in a hurry, but have not heard back yet.

 + -1 moreI bought the deal and Homecraft called the next day to make an appointment. The designer said it would take about 2 weeks and they would send it in the mail. After a month I called Homecraft to see if the design was finished. I was told he was finishing it , "right now", and it would be in the mail the following week. Several more weeks passed and I called again. It took 7 weeks to get the design. I know Homecraft was busy due to increased business from the Angie's List Deal.
Description of Work: I bought a bathroom design. The designer came and measured. I gave him my own design. I bought the deal because I wanted see my design on paper. I also wanted an estimate to do the work. I have all materials so estimate was for labor only. Plumbing and wiring are already roughed-in. Bathroom is about 9' x 12". Whirlpool tub is already installed. The estimate was for $26,000 which I thought was high since they were not suppling any materials. I did not use their services for the remodel. The design was professional looking. I got 2 wall views and 2 overhead views. I

 + -1 moreHe was nice, but it seems he was in it for the $59 (or whatever) house call. If I hadn't called to follow-up - a month later, I doubt I would have gotten the 3-D copies. I won't call to ask for the rest of what was promised. It was a waste of money and time.
Description of Work: I called for an appointment to use the special discount. I recieved a response quickly and an appointment. He arrived late, but was very professional and nice. I showed him the bathroom I wanted remodeled and he measured it and took notes. He told me that he would get me the 3-D plans as soon as he could, because he was overwhelmed by the response to his discount. A month later, on or around 10-18, I called the office and got the answering machine and left a message asking about my plans. He contacted me and said he would mail the 3-D views and the rest (including quote) would come later. They arrived in the mail a couple of days later. It was less than impressive. It was a couple of 3-D pictures of different views of the bathroom. It's now 11-19 and I haven't received anything else. I am now actively looking for someone else to remodel my bathroom. I will not use this company as I see them as unreliable.

 + 4 moreTom has a great personality. He was good to work with and easy going. The only negative was, we did have to select a different tile in order to meet our deadline. We explained the project needed to be completed by Easter and the tile we originally selected was not going to come in on time.
Description of Work: Tom remodeled my kitchen. This included installing new counter tops, travertine floors, lighting under the cabinets, and a new back splash. He also hired a painter and an interior decorator to help with the selection process.

 + 0 moreCalled to get an estimate on installing interior double doors on home office. They were supposed to come on 6/10/2011 but called at the last minute and cancelled. Rescheduled for 6/20/2011 and they showed up and did the specs. Was to have estimate early the next week...no one contacted me so I called on Thursday and got not response. Called again and got no response. Called and told them it was apparent they did not want my business. Never got any response...In all cases I had to leave voicemail because no one was there to answer...Would never us under any circumstances...

They were very prompt, showed up on time, and did the work in the amount of time that they told me. The price was fair. The work was quality work. I would recommend them for refacing of cabinets.

 + -1 moreIt went pretty well. It just took a long time. We picked a cherry wood, and we didn't realize that it's really a softer, hard wood--showing dents easily. Many parts were coming in from Wisconsin, arriving with many marks. It looks nice. They were very professional about it, but unfortunately it took a long time. We had to replace different doors three or four times.

 + 8 moreLike all remodel work it took longer than planned, most of the delays came from outside vendors (like the tile) not getting materials within the time frame they stated. We had custom work done on the spindles and were very pleased, and all of the work was very well done, with little touches that showed the pride people took in thier work. One of the things we really like about Home Craft is that their estimates are very detailed, including removals and small things, that we found quotes from other companies left out. Also Tom and his staff are very responsive to phone calls, and were very easy to work with.
Description of Work: We need a group of things done, new front door/sidelights, new baseboards in 3 rooms, new heating vents in 6 rooms, wallpaper removal, 4 rooms and a hall painted, new kitchen sink and faucet, granite counter tops, over the stove microwave, backsplash tiling, half wall spindle replacement, ceiling repair and painting, and new kitchen hardware. We had Home Craft redo 3 of our bathrooms a few years before, and they were so good, we had them back this time without getting any other quotes.

 + -1 moreHome Craft was very punctual with the original estimate as well as the estimate for the additional work I decided to have done. They knew they were working around my vacation so they did their best to be done by the time I left. That turned out to be impossible. I was given a schedule that they would try to follow and was always notified via email or phone when there was a change. They gave me a list of vendors from which to select products. All vendors were easy to work for and offered great suggestions without ever getting the feeling they were trying to have me buy products more expensive than the allowance I was given in the estimate. The subcontractors were also very professional and always willing to work around my schedule. Every subcontractor left the areas very clean. All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely have them do future remodeling projects for me.
Description of Work: The kitchen ceiling was raised a foot to align with the ceiling in the dinette and dining room. The plumbing was redone because of the ceiling. Recessed lights were added to the kitchen. All kitchen cabinets were refaced. One cabinet was raised to put in the new microwave. In bathroom, the old fiberglass shower stall was taken out and replaced with ceramic tile as was the bathroom floor. A new shower door was installed. New lights were installed in both bathrooms as well as a new medicine cabinet door and new mirrors were put up. All vanities were refaced in both bathrooms.
