They did good work at a minimal price.

The Installation was fine except they did not close the hole from the basement to the outside where the cables went through . We found out later from Bradley Elect that mice were getting in that hole and eating elect wires. Hetter came out to close the hole on 1/12/12 Informed service provider that we were not happy with the damage that was caused. Received a call from some asst to the owner who stated the ower would contact us on 1/16/2012 . Have not received any call yet.

Provided an competitive estimate, along with information about potential tax deductions. Answered questions via email in a timely manner. Replaced existing furnace and AC units with new, more efficient furnace and AC units, including moving the the new AC unit to a different location than the previous location. They contracted out the electric work required for the new location, and they included the cost in the quote. Obtained all permits. Installers and folks who performed the follow-up were very responsive to requests to keep equipment neat and tight. Company performed follow-up check in the spring for the AC unit because it was too cold at the time of installation to turn the AC on. Additionally, we have purchased a year long preventative maintenance contract from the company for the equipment that they installed. Our only recommendation is that it would have been nice for us not to have had to request some of the minor "finishing" details such as (1) installing a conduit for a wire that was running up the side of the equipment, (2) running the wires along the equipment instead of across an open space from one part of the equipment to another part of the equipment, and (3) using clamps to make some of the wires more secure. Overall, the company did a good job, and we are continuing to use them to maintain and (if necessary) service the equipment.

The contract was signed and when Rick Hetterscheidt showed up to install the equipment, he had additional charges that he said were not part of the original agreement. I hesitated to do business this way and he walked out of my house taking his equipment with him. What a collosal waste of my time getting the estimates, signing contracts, waiting to have delivery and installation scheduled, taking time off from work, all to have Rick walk out!!!!!!!!! I will never recommend this company, ever!!!!!!!

I had a previous good experience with Hetter so I chose to contact them again when I needed a second system in my home. Once again, Hetter was very responsive to my initial request. They very courteously provided us several options to choose from and explained everything in detail, all as part of the free estimate. They installed the system very promptly; the installation team was professional, courteous, prompt and efficient. The system is working flawlessly and I have already begun to see savings on my utility bill, even more than was estimated. I recommend Hetter and would use them again.

Excellent work and craftmanship. Installed new Trane air conditioner including reworking sheet metal, electrical and piping from a a/c unit that was 21 years old. Adam and Jason arrived promptly and began work immediately after consulting with us regarding any concerns or questions. The installation was difficult due to placement of the outside unit and the old installation . They removed the coil for the factory provided casing and reconfigured the sheet metal plenum to provide better air flow - letting me know what they were doing prior to starting work. They were both friendly, informative and professional. The communication with these installers and the office was outstanding. I clear understood what I was purchasing, my options and the installation every step of the way. At the end of the installation Adam went over operation and maintenance - he was not in a hurry to get out the door even though he had been at my house for 8 hours. The 15 SEER unit is cooling much better and the outside unit is much quieter than our previous unit.

Great - no problems, due in part to their twice annual maintenance calls.

It was a really good a company. They were not cheap, but were well worth the money. They put a Trane system in which was a dual speed system. You would be eligible for a $400 rebate if you have a system like this.

Everything is running well. The regular maintenance does require service fees, and they do that work well.

Kevin was very professional and took the time to go over several options with me. This was a great overall experience and not once did I feel even remotely that it was a high-pressure sale. I did end up using another company that had lower-end/price, no-frills but reliable equipment manufacturers... however, due to Kevin alone, I'd recommend Hetter to anyone searching for an honest, professional HVAC company.

They were exceptional. They did the job in less than eight hours. They were clean, personable and quick. They had the most reasonable rates.

I found them on Angie's List. I called them to see what their prices were for a water heater. They came in and installed it and were here for about 2 hours. They quoted me $1641.00. I called some other companies and asked for prices on the exact same unit and the five other companies were saying $300.00 cheaper than Hetter. They were pretty much charging me $800.00 for the labor! I spoke with the administrator on the phone and she said she spoke with the owner and he is going to look at the price they charged me and will get in contact with me to try to resolve it. The technicians that came out did do a very good job and I was pleased with the work that they did. I would use them again if they start charging me fair prices.

We didn't dislike anything about them. We liked their punctuality and professionalism. We also liked the quality of the work. The staff was very friendly. The pricing was also very good.

Hetter Heating and Cooling was able to provide several quotes of different efficiency furnaces via email (they responded very quickly). Because this is the slow season for HVAC contractors, they were able to come to my house and promptly install the system. They offered space heaters until the new system could be installed. When they arrived, they pulled out the "Red Carpet Treatment", a sticky disposable carpet they use to keep their walkways clean while working. The entire installation took about 6.5 hours and they answered my questions about how to operate the thermostat. I had to have the team return the next day because the hose that goes through a wall to the air conditioner behind my house had not been sealed off properly, and a bit of rain water was coming in my basement. Because Hetter is located close to my home and I was able to contact them early in the morning, they were able to come out and fix the problem within an hour (it just needed some expanding foam insulation). The owner called a few days later to see how things are working, and the system seems to be running just fine (maybe a bit louder than I expected). I plan to renew my service contract with Hetter to keep my new equipment running at peak performance. As of this review, I am waiting for the City of Columbus to come to my house to inspect the installation (I called Hetter to confirm that this is standard operating procedure). I am also waiting for Trane to send warranty information, and possibly paperwork for a tax credit. It is the end of March, and I also had a Trane air conditioner installed, but won't be using it for several months. For the particular furnace I chose (80% efficiency, two-stage heat, and variable stage blower), I qualified for one-year interest-free financing from Wells-Fargo. I chose Hetter for several reasons: --I had been on a maintenance agreement with them for about 1.5 years (I got their name from a coworker). --They sell Trane products, which have a high-quality reputation and replacement parts can be found easily. --They are located close to my home, so if something goes wrong, they are able to come to my home quickly. --They have been providing HVAC services to the Columbus community for over 40 years. --They have received very good reviews on Angie's List. --When putting together a quote, they provided a packet of information, including permits, awards received (BBB, Angie's List) and customer recommendations. I had seven (yes, seven!) contractors visit, and Hetter was the only company to provide this level of reassurance.

The work is in progress and I'm happy right now. The work so far is been positive. There are very responsive and the staff is good. The price is not determined yet and we are under talk about it, this point. Their quality of work is good. They came right on the time when I wanted.

Our zoned heating wasn't working in part of our home and we feared the worst--that our finished basement would have to be torn up to find the broken fan in the ductwork. We called Hetter heating (who we've used previously for water heater problems and have been pleased with their work), and they sent out a serviceman who was knowledgeable about our forced air zone system. He found the culprit (a broken fan which closed off the vent) and fixed the vent so it was permanently open for us in order to heat the house. He also gave us an estimate on how to replace the fan, but we decided to defer this cost at this time, leaving the vent permanently open. Hetter heating has always provided quality work and genuinely wants to help their customers without false diagnoses or insisting upon costly repairs when a simpler solution can be found for the homeowner. Our only minor disappointment was we had to wait 3 days for service after we called as they had no availability. Secondly, although it may be an industry standard to charge a flat fee just to come to the house, it seemed a bit high. However, I know when we call Hetter, the repair gets done, and the service ends up saving us money in the long run.

Our old gas furnace was nearly twenty years old and we decided this was a good time to replace it, rebates and all. Called Hetter and talked to Kevin who came out the next day to give us an estimate. He arrived right on time checked out our unit and gave us a price right away. He explained the whole high efficiency thing very clearly and gave us a recent article on the subject. He recommended a very basic single stage unit (which is what we wanted, a very small house) and did not try to push the latest and greatest and more expensive units with all the bells and whistles. I really appreciated this- The price was very good , we had a couple of other bids and this price was better. Called him a few days later and he got us scheduled for about a week later- On the assigned day Rick, A super nice hardworking fellow, showed up right on time and got to work, another Hetter employee arrived a few hours later and took the old furnace. Rick finished around 5:00 pm and everything has been working fine since. All in all a great experience- All very good people. and highly recommended.

Our existing heating and cooling system was 23 years old. We were experiencing more frequent minor breakdowns every year, so it was time for a better, more efficient and reliable replacement system. After getting three other estimate for the other top brands as well as other Trane dealers, we went with Hetter. During the estimate process, this contractor was the only one to look at the project from an installer's point of view, rather than just trying to make a sale. Rick also followed the Consumer Report's (TM) guidance on how big a system is needed as well as the gov't's Manual J guidelines. In the end, we were given 5 options with varying price points to choose from. The installation went perfect. They were at our house within a week of our agreement. The installers started at 9:00 am and were done by 4:00 pm. They left the work area cleaner than it was at the start. The total price reflects a maintenance agreement as well as an extended, enhanced warranty, which we requested.

I have used Hetter Heating and Cooling for a number of years because of their dependability and professionalism. I purchased a new Trane AC and furnace in 2005 from them. I also purchased the service agreement. This year, during the spring tune-up, James found that the AC wasn't working as efficiently as it should. Within a week the compressor was replaced and the AC runs much more quietly and efficiently. Hetter Heating and Cooling responded quickly and efficiently to solve the problem. I highly recommend them. And, James is the best!!

We've used Hetter for maintaining our systems over the years, so when it came time to replace our system this year, we knew we would at least get an estimate from them. I also called two other companies that are highly rated on Angie's List -- I never heard back from one of them, and it took four days to hear from another. Therefore, because of their professionalism (immediate response and appointment with John, the owner -- he spent a great deal of time going over our options with us) and because I had research prices for replacements, I was comfortable using Hetter for this large investment. I was scheduled pretty quickly for this time of year. The crew arrived right on time and finished in good time. Two minor hiccups were promptly corrected: I had to ask them to clean up after themselves (on our deck), and they also had to return because they'd forgotten to switch back on a breaker they'd changed. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience, and I will continue to use Hetter for my maintenance needs in the future.

Everything went great. He called to make sure that I was home and to tell me that he was on his way. He tuned up and checked out the furnace and air conditioner and left an extensive report of his findings. It lasted about an hour.

Kevin worked around my busy schedule and met me in the evening. I felt that he was honest with me, and didn't recommend that I spend or buy more than I needed for my <1000 sq ft house. He was diligent in contacting the Hilliard zoning department to determine where I am / am not allowed to put the new A/C unit, as I wanted in on the side of my house. I didn't end up using Hetter for the job, but really appreciate Kevin's time and professionalism. Thank you Kevin!

They recently saved my unit from having to be replaced.

They were really busy when I called and said it would be the next day afternoon at the earliest. They had 3 guys out for training which I take as a good sign. Called me back about 30 minutes later to say they could make it late the same day of my call. Well the called again and were here just after lunch time. Lance who did the service was very professional, explained what he was doing, what it would cost, and made the repairs. He also made some other adjustments that should help too. Nice job!
