Her Real Living

Description of Work: We used HER Real Living to manage our rental property. The maintenance department was horrible at returning phone calls, taking weeks to respond to multiple messages. They billed us hundreds of dollars to install 2 sets of blinds, but were unable to justify the cost. (Could not produce receipts for the blinds, or supply an account of labor/hourly cost. Phone messages regarding this issue took 6 months to garner a return call.) The blinds were the very cheap plastic blinds that cost about $7 for a single window set at Lowe's. The company's policy was to manage the water bill; per HER's instructions, it was to be left in the owner's name, but mailed to HER Real Living. HER Real Living was supposed to pay the water bill for the property and bill the tenants--HER paid 50% of the water bills late in the year we used them to manage the property, which triggered a late fee on the bill each time. They charged us (the owners of the property) 10% of the bill cost to "manage" the bill for us each month (which they did poorly), and included the late fee in that 10%. They neglected to bill the tenants for one month of the water bill, and refused to correct the problem. (So we had to cover it to prevent a lien being placed on our house.) They would neglect to bill our account the monthly management fee, and then bill 4 times in one month--this resulted in being billed 2 extra months of management fees (which they did correct after 3 calls and my having to send them copies of their own monthly statements with notes detailing which were overpayments.) When I scheduled a meeting with an HER representative to sort out the mistaken billing, she showed me our file; only half the water bills were in the folder, and there were 2 in our file for another property belonging to someone else. She was unable to sort out the mistakes in the account in our 2 hour meeting due to missing bills. Fortunately, I had contacted the water department and brought with me copies of all the relevant bills. The tenants became angry with poorly managed maintenance requests, and decided to move out. Matt, the department manager, was unprofessional and not interested in helping his property managers or tenants. He did not return phone calls, was generally rude and condescending in email contact, and in the end did not honor the contract we had with his company. The entire experience was sadly a nightmare.

Description of Work: Harley Haas and Kathryn Dague were my Real Estate Agents when I decided to sell my condo. They are very knowledgeble and offered suggestions to make the house more attractive to buyers. They are also very hard working and I personally liked them very much. They were always available when I called them or would return my call shortly.

Description of Work: Candace worked with a friend of mine to find a house and did an outstanding job.
