I went to the showroom hoping to find 10 pieces of black subway tile. The sales rep went into the backroom and found 16 pieces of discontinued tile that matched mine exactly. I had to buy all 16 but the price was very low and I was thrilled. I’m sorry to not have the gentleman’s name. He is a hero.

Mark was very patient ( I was very slow, needed a flash light...) he was patient and professional even though mine was not a model they sell! He explained what to do when I found out after all that I was too short. Once I got a spotter for a ladder, I did what he told me and my opener is working again. What a relief and how nice of this company man to help me on a garage door they don't even sell. They will have our future business and recommendation from now on.

They would let me know. But they never did. I complained again, asking to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor said they would be finished in one week. This time I did get a call, telling me the caps were ready. I went to the store to pick them up. They were the right size, but the edges were rough cut, not full bull nose, as ordered. They said they could have the correct ones finished in about one week and would deliver them to my house. In a week they delivered them. They were full bull nose, but were the wrong size. They were only 14.75" sq. This was not big enough. I complained. They said they would have the correct ones done as soon as possible and would let me know when. They never let me know. I called twice to find out when they would be finished, but never got a call. I called the third time and asked to talk to the president of the company. I was told, "He was in a meeting." They passed me down to a different person. That person apologized and said she would look into the matter. About 15 minutes later I got a call from the same person that got the order wrong and never returned my calls. He said the caps would be ready in about a week and a half. If so, that will be about 8 weeks after I ordered and paid for them.
Description of Work: I ordered and paid for about $500 worth of bricks and then was told they were only available in Delaware, so I had to go to Delaware to pick them up, taking 2 trips because of the weight. The store did not offer to have them shipped to the Columbus store. Then i ordered and paid for 2 limestone caps 16.5" sq. with full bull nose edge. Cost $150. Delivery uncertain. Somewhere between 1 and 5 weeks. They would let me know. But they never did. When I complained they said between 2 and 5 weeks. (Continued)

We understood that there's a minimum service charge. The door didn't need repair. It was fine. The guy did a good job. The door was working. They were on time. We're happy. They came right when they said they would. They were prompt and efficient. We've used them in the past and we will probably use them.

The sales rep (Ciera) was very professional and made good suggestions on the type of doors we should use. She came out to the house to verify that we were purchasing the correct size and confirm the style we had chosen. When the doors arrived at Hamilton Parker we scheduled an installation date. Unfortunately, they were busy and we had to wait longer for the installation than anticipated. The installer (Eric) arrived on the scheduled date, removed the old doors, tracks and springs and installed the new doors. He said that he could not locate the and quot;pullsand quot; but promised to take responsibility himself to make sure they were located and installed. As promised he came back 2 days later to installed the pulls. Although the doors were expensive we are quite satisfied with the quality of the doors and the professionalism of the employees.

The person that fixed the overhead garage door opener was one of the best in the business. I was getting to market the house and called Hamilton/Parker. Boy did I do the right thing. The gentleman, fixed the door open, greased the rollers, and installed new bulbs and put the covering on. I was shocked. This Company will have all of my business in the future....................

Very poor customer service. When I inquired further on the 3-month warranty, the service rep cut me off and asked in a rude tone, and quot;so...do you want place the order?and quot; I said, and quot;no, I'd rather work with another company.and quot; I called the Manager and he apologized, but I'd rather pay a company that wants my business and can provide decent customer service.

Horrible or maybe that is the wrong word to use since their customer service is lacking. No greeting or an acknowledgement that we are glad to have you here. They definitely need to have diversity classes for their staff so individuals that are shopping can feel as if they would like to have the business and are happy to see them browsing their showroom.

I purchased their silver servicing package through Angie's List for $180. Our fireplace is only 7 years old, but I wanted that maintenance package because this is a new house for us. They responded quickly to my first request, saying they were scheduling dates for two weeks later and asking for my cell phone. I provided that and didn't hear from them for another week so I followed up with another email. They responded quickly and called to schedule the appointment with Dale who would arrive between 8 and 10 a.m. and call me when he is on his way. Dale called at 8:30 and was at the house 15 minutes later. He was professional and knowledgeable. He found and repaired the gas leak, cleaned the glass, and explained the maintenance and cleaning process. He was done quickly and the fireplace is working perfectly with a clean glass it looks brand new. Overall we are very pleased with the service. I may have gotten the same result with the bronze package but was concerned with the gas leak.
Description of Work: We had our gas fireplace serviced by Hamilton Parker with their "silver package" and they performed the service very well. We bought the service because there was a smell of natural gas coming from it when we used it.

Although it took a few days to get hold of someone, (we played voicemail tag) I was able to get someone out the same week for a convenient appointment. The guy was early and phoned to let me know. Diagnosis and repair of the problem was very quick and I am very happy with the outcome and the cost. He also did maintenance on both door openers which are now working much more efficiently and quietly. Great service.

I originally called to set up an appointment, but the voice mail was full and was unable to leave a message. I then emailed my request for an appointment. I did not hear back from them for a day and I emailed again. I did get a response and they apologized for the voicemail issue, I ended up having email communication to set up the appointment. On the day of appointment, they asked if they could come later because they were running behind. I agreed since I was home for the night. The gentlemen arrived and notified me that their company installed the fireplaces in my community. They notified me that the fireplace really did not require much service and that the issue was probably just need a cleaning at the point of ignition. They educated me on the cleaning and it was done in about 10-15 minutes. While I appreciated the education and that the issue was solved, I am disappointed that I spent so much money unnecessarily. Definitely a case where I would have saved money if I would have just had a general service call.
Description of Work: I ordered the gas fireplace cleaning special and silver maintenance package. I had lived in my condo for seven years and never had it serviced or cleaned. I was having issues with the fireplace staying lit when I turned it on. I thought it was a good opportunity. It was a slight discount through the big deal promotion.

Serviceman arrived on time and seemed very professional. Told me that wall mounted control could not be replaced as it had been discontinued by maker (Wayne Dalton) and that no other controller would work. He quoted a price for a new opener and controls as the whole opener system had been discontinued. After at least ten calls to Hamilton Parker and others, I found that a replacement controller is available through a company in Florida and ordered one. Meanwhile, the price quotations on a replacement door more than doubled for something similar to what I had and after two requests to have someone come out and realign the doors that do not close properly after the serviceman worked on them, there has been no response from them, even though I was told that the service manager wanted to come look at it himself. I have talked to at least four different individuals at HP trying to get some assistance. I have had varying degrees of luck with different ones in regard to some of the problems that I have had, but it has been difficult to find one person to get the doors readjusted and take the door replacement quoting seriously. They were the ones that put my current doors and openers into my home when when we built it five years ago. I had them out once befor for service work and was happy with them that time, but this experience has been anything but what I would have expected.

Overall I am very pleased with Hamilton Parker. Steve was extremely helpful in assisting me with the purchase, site unseen. After installation I experienced an issue with the logs turning off. Steve sent a technician out to inspect. The logs were subsequently replaced. The same issue occurred. Steve ultimately came out himself and replaced them with a different brand that my fireplace box seems to approve of, and everything has been perfect since. I truly appreciate his reponsiveness and willingness to make everything work out favorably. I will definitely use them again! I am very pleased overall; the issues were beyond their control.

Let me just start by saying that in today's day and age, quality customer service is a lost artform, and Hamilton Parker (HP) exhibited an amazing 'above and beyond' culture that absolutely impressed. My wife and I were looking to do a fairly substantial master bathroom remodel, as we had some minor water damage from the previous owner, and wanted to spruce up the generic construction-grade room. We visited a couple general hardware stores, one specialty tile shop, and had some bathroom remodel companies come visit all before our first visit to Hamilton Parker. Learning about tiles, design options, and all the intricacies as a complete novice is really overwhelming! This was the first touch point where Hamilton Parker shined above the competition. Whereas other companies were clearly geared towards just selling or providing the materials, HP gave us what felt like a design consultant when we entered the showroom. We showed her pictures and ideas of what we were thinking and she made us feel completely comfortable with all the terminology and all of the options, even suggesting some great design concepts we'd never thought of - what became our final floor tiles were her idea. This input was so helpful and reassuring, it was a simple service that then made us feel good about buying from Hamilton Parker. They gave us a ton of samples to cart around for a couple weeks, and when we came back with more solidified ideas, we worked with two additional associates (none of whom are on commission) who also clearly knew what they were talking about, and guided us through the purchase with all the right accessories (grout, sealer, enhancer, etc.). They even stayed a bit after the showroom closed to answer all our questions, and communicated directly with our contractor to get exact measurements and numbers for the final order. We even had to do some custom tile cuts and additional items after the initial order, and they just took care of it so we didn't have to worry about a thing. What happened next was even more impressive. We had a 'feature wall' that contained some slate tile pieces, which looked fantastic, but unfortunately after the first exposure to water, one of the tiny pieces seemed to have an iron deposit in it that leaked down the wall, staining all the grout and tiles below. I called HP to see if this was normal, and while it was incredibly rare (they'd only heard of it happening once before) and required some rework to the tiles and grout, they didn't skip a beat in offering to provide additional materials and input for free. They even delivered the replacement supplies directly to our door, and called to follow-up multiple times to make sure everything was okay. While this was a frustrating occurance, the 'above and beyond' nature to simply make things right, even though it wasn't necessarily anyone's fault (just a risk of using natural stone), was truly impressive. To top it all off, HP even offered to cover the costs of our contractor's repair work, which I thought was amazing and certainly beyond anything I would expect. I must specifically thank Tanya Krinks for all her assistance in this matter. Overall, our new bathroom looks incredible, and the service of Hamilton Parker to make that a reality played a major part. Pricing was competitive versus other stores, given many materials are 'higher end' than your generic hardware store, and the selection and options there are incredible. We would absolutely do business with HP again and will be referring all of our friends who are impressed with the new bathroom their way. Thanks Hamilton Parker!! - Andrew

The company was not even aware of the advertised offer on Angie's List and would not honor. Angie's List was very cooperative and agreed to refund the $90. UPDATE: Confusion between contractor and Angie's List was cleared up the next day. Mark contacted me the following morning to clear things up.

This company has a very strong focus on customer service. You can tell it is in the culture of the organization to take care of their customers, no matter how long it takes. We decided to tear down the large stone facing in our family room, and replace it with a gas insert, built in bookshelves, a small hearth and mantle. I contacted H-P and they sent out a technician to measure our fireplace to see whether they had what we needed. The person was prompt and called ahead to confirm. He suggested we visit their showroom which we did. It is impressive and offered lot of options for our project. The person we asked for to help us was not available, but we had two other people come out to get us started, as they knew our Sales Rep was on another call. We found what we wanted, and placed it on order. One of my few disappointments was that they did not have ready recommendations for someone to put in the required electric box or the gas line installation. Fortunately, I had Angie's List to look for them! The insert was ordered, and we scheduled installation. It went in beautifully, and they took care of the chimney venting as well. They started it up, and we noticed that the fan was making a loud noise. They said they had another installation where that happened, and would order a replacement fan. They called when it came in, and did the replacement. It didn't fix the problem. So they came back and put in some screws to secure the frame, as they thought that might be rattling. Each time the technicians and service managers reassured us that they would make it right or replace it. At this point we though it was fixed, and proceeded to build up the hearth, and get the stone to put around it. The showroom has so many choices for stone and ceramic finishing. They are very good at giving you samples to take home, and we made many visits until we found the right one. It had to be special ordered, and we were anxious to get the project wrapped up. The delivery truck was delayed by a day, but it was available in time for our contractor to get it installed on schedule. When everything was finished, we turned on the fireplace, started the fan, and it made a very loud noise. At this point, I was very concerned about having technicians pull out the insert, with the marble stone already on the hearth, and the stone facing right up against the sides of the insert. But I must say, they took great care in moving the insert around, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it on the spot. We are most impressed by the professionalism of the technicians, the customer focus of the management, and the quality of their showroom and marketing team. In spite of the insert product issue, we would use Hamilton Parker again for any project.
Description of Work: Hamilton Parker provided the gas fireplace insert to put into a wood burning firebox in our family room remodeling project. We also ended up buying our stone facing to go around the insert and the hearth.
