 + -1 moreHe was a really nice guy. He did a great, fast job cleaning my gutters. He even noticed a problem with my roof and he pointed it out to me suggesting that I get it fixed. He was a great help! My only minor problem was that he said he would call me back to give me an estimate before the job, and he didn't. He just showed up (on time) and performed the job without having done an estimate. I'm embarrassed to say that I honestly didn't know how much the service was going to cost me until I received the bill.

 + -1 moreThey came when they said they would and checked and cleaned the gutters and tested the downspouts and drainpipes. They cleaned up ALL the mess from the gutters perfectly. We will use them again to repair a couple places that need to be repaired with material they didn't have with them that day. Very professional and personable people.

They first tried to clean under ground drain pipes with high pressure water.....removed lots of materiial but located point of obstruction (beneath a tree). Proposed new location for new lines to bypass problem area, gave us a quote, performed the work well and on time and budget. Very satisfied with the work, price, clean up, and professionalism. Would highly recommend.

 + -1 moreI have contracted Mike to do similar work at our church on several occasions, and know him to do excellent work, and be extremely reliable, honest, and very reasonable in pricing. On this occasion, he and his colleague dug up the suspect drain line, found it to be thoroughly clogged with mud, and replaced it - with much better positioning that the original installation. He also checked the rest of the line with an in-pipe camera to determine that the rest of the line was in good shape. A couple of days later, they returned to install the new rain gutters, which are a vast improvement over the previous ones. All work was done expertly, and in a very cost-effective manner. I have hired Mike before, and will do so again in the future.
Description of Work: Two projects were contracted for and performed at our church: 1) Replace some raingutters that were beginning to fall off the side of the building; and 2) Investigate a potentially clogged drain from multiple downspouts to a storm drain.

 + -1 moreI gave Gutter King of Columbus a call early in the week to clean my gutters before the heavy rain hit. They said that they be out on Thursday. They were there on Thursday and the only evidence that they were hanging on my house, was clean gutters. I will use them again.

 + 0 moreLarge companies send a salesperson to do a presentation, take measurements, and work up an estimate. Then a crew shows up to do the work. With Gutterking, you meet with the people who are going to do the work. From the initial exam of the gutter system, Gutterking stood out as a well-practiced, precise, expert team. There is no idle talk and no down time. They are all about getting to it and doing the job right; no wasted time or energy. They don't waste materials, either (their measurements are precise), and they clean up everything. They also are very attentive to following safety practices. These are NOT fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants guys; they know exactly what they are doing as they quickly move from one task to the next. As a team, they work so well together that it was as though they had done my particular job every day of their lives and this was one more run---with high energy. They are accomplished and professional. My words make them sound slick, and I don't intend to do that: they are hard-working and honest. They are happy to do small jobs as well as big jobs (my neighbor asked them to re-attach a downspout, and they did it before they left). Gutterking did my project in stages; I knew exactly what they intended to accomplish in each stage and when--- as well as why, how and how much. I had complete knowledge of what was happening and that put me in a position to ask questions, to sound out my thoughts, and to make changes, if I wanted. I felt very comfortable with them and their work ethic. Part of my comfort level came from the facts that the team wanted to do and expected to do an excellent job and that they paid attention even to litttle details. I had been dreading getting the gutters replaced. I was afraid because I didn't know anything about gutters, was really afraid of water damage, was afraid of what problems might be hidden that would appear, and I was afraid the cost would morph into some monster amount that I would not be able to afford. Also, I knew I would not know if the job wasn't done right or if corners had been cut. At the first meeting, Gutterking listened to me, ran their tests, and explained everything in detail to me. All dealings with them was straight forward, and I did not find the project to be at all stressful for me. They did find a couple of ugly surprises, but they dealt with them immediately and easily (there was never a "now what?"). The cost remained in-line with what I had expected so the cost did not become a source of stress, either. THANK YOU, GUTTERKING of COLUMBUS!
Description of Work: I felt that my gutters were no longer able to function properly. I thought I wanted my gutters replaced. Gutterking of Columbus is owner-operated and from the moment I met the owner, I felt as though he had a personal stake in how effectively his work would enable my gutter/drain system to perform its purpose, and I felt as though he pays attention to what he charges as though it were his money that I would be spending! He is straight forward, business-centered but easily reached by phone (614.538.8336) or e-mail. Water is a home's worst enemy. A gutter/drain system's purpose is to capture water and carry it away from the home; Gutterking, therefore, examined my entire system when I told them I had a water problem I wanted to correct. This examination, however, did not take much time: they performed specific tests (with such ease and speed that I am sure they could "do the tests in their sleep"). They showed me what they had observed in two key underground areas: a reduced volume of output (compared to input) and an overly long amount of time for that reduced volume of water to exit. They were sure there was a problem in both areas. I wanted more investigation beyond our observations so I paid for a camera snake to be used for a look-see in both areas. The look-see showed Gutterking to be correct. I decided to re-evaluate. I then researched information about gutter/drain systems, and I soon realized that I really wanted two things: 1) an expertly-done work outcome that would give me peace of mind that water would be captured and carried away, and not compromise the structure of my home and 2) good value for my money. My home is 3 stories high on one side and has a very steep roof so additionally I want anyone working on my home to do so safely especially when up high. I compared companies, estimates, warranties, and personalities. I hired Gutterking to restore my gutter/drain system (that restoration included replacing the gutters). Gutterking went over the entire system inch by inch and restored or corrected as needed. The purchased gutters are 6" seamless that are very securely anchored with closely-placed screw in hidden hangers accompanied with appropriately-sized downspouts and accomodations. Gutterking told me that 5" gutters would do the job so that added expense was my decision and maybe not cost effective. Due to nearby trees, I got quality gutter covers on about 1/2 of the gutters. Some drain pipe had to be lifted or replaced, as well. Because I have absolute confidence in Gutterking's knowlege and work, I have complete confidence in my restored system (no more fear of water). Gutterking gave me peace of mind!

I then set up appointment for a couple of days later. Mike himself came to do job with helper. Very professional and polite. Did quality job. Very very happy. I will definately use again.

And pine needles from the numerous pine trees in my yard and surrounding yards in my neighborhood. Mike and his assistant cleaned and flushed the gutters and downspout and cleaned up nicely after the job was completeed.

 + -1 moreI asked two contractors to evaluate our situation and give us quotes. Both came out and suggested the same solution. For whatever reason, the other contractor didn't even bother to come back to shoot elevations or give an estimate. Mike came exactly when he said he would, did a thorough inspection of the existing pipes, including running his fiberoptic camera as far as he could up the lines, and gave us a reasonable quote. We accepted his proposal, and he and his brother came on exactly the day promised and did exactly what they said they would do. A couple of days later, I noticed two of our gutters overflowing, and found that they were clogged with leaves. I could get to one, but the other was too high, so I asked Mike if he could stop by and do a cleaning job as well. Not only did he come back when he promised, he cleaned ALL of our gutters at no extra charge. This is not a service I hope we need often, but without question I would call Mike again. There's plenty of other contractors out there who could learn a lesson from Mike about how to treat customers.
Description of Work: We have a house in the country, and the original gutter drain lines ran over 600' to the county drain tile on the main road. Over the years, they have become clogged, and because the original pipes were corrugated plastic, they could not be cleaned out without risk of shredding the pipes. Mike recommended replacing the drain lines with smooth schedule 35 plastic pipes, and running to catch basins installed in low areas of my yard, away from the house.

 + 0 moreInitially, I was concerned with the hourly rate that Mike was charging me. Soon after Mike and Scott began work on the gutters, downspouts and underground storm drain piping, I realized how professional, efficient, and productive they were. My underground piping was broken, collapsed and cut in several areas and the rain water wasn't flowing to the road outlet at all. They quickly isolated the damaged areas and repair them. The cleaning of the gutters and downspouts went very quickly. Since the amount of repairs exceeded their original estimate, the final repair work was done on a fixed price basis, which covered the entire job. I doubt that I coudl find any other contractor who would have completed those repairs as efficiently and professionally as Mike and his brother. I'm extremely satisfied and would highly recommend Gutter King to anyone with gutter, downspout or underground stormwater drain piping repairs. They did an exceptional job!!!

 + -1 moreWhen I called Mike, I was sure that the underground drains were plugged or had collapsed. He said there wasn't a problem underground and that all we needed was some repair work on the gutters and downspouts. I finally relented and said he should do just the gutters and downspouts. Since then, we have had several intense storms and the corner of the basement that used to be wet following even a minor storm is dry. To say I'm happy with Mike's honesty and his work would be an understatement.
Description of Work: I thought we needed some expensive underground work and kept trying to convince Mike. Instead, Mike repaired the gutters, cleaned the downspouts, and did some repairs. The cost was about 20% of what I was expecting.
