+ -1 moreHired two movers for a total of 3 hrs load / unload. Prior to date of move, Company owner Jason confirmed date and time. On moving date only one mover showed up. Waited 45 minutes and the other mover still did not show up. Went ahead and conducted the move using one company mover as well as a family friend. Jason, company owner, stated he would refund $96.00 (one-half of the total charge) since only one mover showed up. Spoke to Jason on numerous subsequent calls and was assured I would receive my refund in the mail. NO REFUND EVER RECEIVED. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEIR WORD MEANS NOTHING.

+ -1 moreThe owners themselves work hard and take great care of everything from boxes to antiques. They don't hesitate to do whatever is necessary to make it a safe, smooth move. They are a smaller company with access to additional labor as needed. They can get UHaul trucks for you, or you can rent your own. They are pros who know what they are doing. Love that the owners themselves are the main movers with strong connections to the area so take great care with your items. They will pack, make internal moves of boxes and furniture, and communicate well.
Description of Work: GHM has moved me or members of my family 8 times in the past two years, and we have another scheduled for the coming week.

+ -1 moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! My belongings were not properly secured in the truck. When we arrived at our destination, items had shifted dramatically in transit, including a chest of drawers tipping over. This caused damage to the chest of drawers, the dresser in front of it and several other items. Several thousand dollars worth of damage was done to our belongings. This was my third cross country move and the first time I had any damage whatsoever to my belongings. When I contacted Jason, the owner, about the issue, he refused to take any responsibility for the damage. To add insult to injury, he double charged my credit card and two months later, has yet to refund the errant charge. Jason's handling of the situation and treatment were completely undesirable and unprofessional. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

+ -1 moreDo not use this moving "company"! The owner is a fast talker and talks his way around all issues you may be having. He ruined an antique dresser by stacking wood on top of wood. When I complained, he said it was my fault because I never brought him blankets. You would think professionals (which they are NOT) movers would NEVER stack wood on wood or they would wait for the blankets to be provided. The truck was packed only half full. They stated they could not add anything onto the truck because I had told them what I wanted added on first. Never a problem with any other reputable, professional companies. They did not take responsibility for any of their actions. To sum things up, I am left with several pieces of damaged furniture and have to rent another truck. It is not a real company, they do not provide contracts, and they have no insurance!

+ -1 moreThe experience was WONDERFUL! They communicated with me constantly and survived my constant emails/calls. After a few bad moving experiences, I was really worried a smaller company would not do a good job. But, they were EXCELLENT. They were actually more responsive and move much faster than the two large national moving companies I used before. Jason is very friendly and wants to provide great service. Their rates are reasonable, so I was more than willing to offer a tip. I support small businesses - especially in today's economy. Give them a call!
Description of Work: I have moved twice in recent months. I chose Good Hands Moving BOTH times! A new and growing organization, the service providers at Good Hands Moving arrived on time - with additional supplies that I requested. They meticulously - but quickly - shrink wrapped my furniture, surveyed my items and empited the first room within 20 minutes of their arrival. During the move, they were friendly and responsive. But, they never stopped working! The Owner/Manager had a great rapport with his Team. Upon arrival, they quickly unloaded everything - asking for clarity before putting any boxes down and before walking away from any heavy furniture to ensure it was in place. They put my bed and dresser back together. And the best part: They billed in 15 minute increments - so I wasn't forced to pay an entire hour labor fee for the last 10-20 minutes of the move! As a single woman, it was/is important to me to work with someone that would be professional and friendly. I didn't feel weird about them being there. And they were attentive to my needs - before and after.
