I had a major leak in the front bedroom and needed some slates replaced. The price that was quoted was about $400 less than the ABLE Roofing estimate. He said the leak was due to the the chimney flashing. His crew arrived on time on the scheduled date, spent the morning completing the work. The leak continued and he said he need to do a chimney rebuild and a super flashing which resulted in an additioanl expense. The chimney was never rebuilt and the leak persisted even with the "super flasing" - his crew came back three to four additional times (once tearing the ceiling in the bedroom where the leak continued - and never repairing so I was not only left with the original leak but now a very unsightly hole) to attempt to fix the leak - it was never corrected. He called back and said they needed to begin a new roof relacement which would entail little by little replancing the roof until they found where the leak was originating. IT was at this point I decided to look elsewhere. I subsequently called and received an estimate from Durable Slate (I will write a separate review) - they were extremely professional and agreed that the leak was the result of the chimney flashing, the difference being they arrived on schedule, completed some additional slate replacement along with correctly flasing the chimney and ending the leak.
