 + 0 moreEverything turned out wonderful! They have done work for me in the past, which is why I keep using them. The design is exquisite. They were on time, exactly at 8:30 when they said they would be here. They are very polite, very quiet with their work. I stayed in another room while they did the work, I wanted to be surprised when they were done - which I was! It is an enormous window, they had it in in about an hour and a half. They were very clean when they were doing their work, there is not a spot anywhere. Kara did the design and it was just, I don't even have words to describe how beautiful it is!
Description of Work: They put in a leaded glass window above my front door.

 + -1 moreExcellent! A real pleasure working with everyone involved from the beginning to the end. Garrett on his consulting and ideas during the initial design phase, Kara in the glass selection and cutting, clear through to Jeremy with the installation. All were great!
Description of Work: Consulted with Franklin Art Glass on a leaded 30 x 60 front door light and transom. After the initial consulation and estimate, we provided them with our design plan, which they then re-drew and we approved. They consulted with us in great detail concerning our choice of glass types to use. After approving the final design, the work was completed in a very timely manner. In fact, they had it completed before we were ready to have it installed, so they graciously held the work at their shop for a few weeks. The glass fit perfectly, the installation was quick and painless, and the door is beautiful.

 + -1 moreAfter making initial contact through email, I received emails and calls asking for my address. Finally, got around to contacting them. After paying 140(travel, measuring, and deposit); I asked when can I expect the mirror to be completed. I was told in two weeks. Two weeks passed maybe even a month and now it was my turn to email and call. Did receive email stating that unfortunately the mirror is not quite ready and with a sudden influx of projects, lead-time has been extended slightly; was informed that he would a better sense of timing toward the end of today and will report back with my findings. I think weeks later I sent email about mirror...when the mirror was finally ready either in Dec or January, I had either lost interest or my handy man had a sudden influx of projects and was not available to install mirror.
Description of Work: Contacted and picked out specialty mirror.

 + -1 moreI was given an estimate of $40 from just a verbal description of what I wanted. When I brought the lamp a couple of hours later, they gave a very similar and even lower estimate of $35. The work was beautiful, they called me promptly when it was done, and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Description of Work: I brought an antique, delicate Tiffany style glass lamp shade to them to inquire about replacing a small, broken pane of glass. I had guessed it would be rather expensive but maybe worth it. I also considered buying a piece of glass and attempting to fix it myself. I was delighted when they quoted me a price of only $35 for the glass and the labor. I was even more delighted when they finished it less than 2 days later. The workmanship was beautiful! The metal holding the glass in looked no different than the original - I don't even know whether they replaced it or just moved it to replace the glass. While it was impossible to find a piece of glass exactly like the old one (the color is about a tenth of a shade less orange) I don't think anybody but I will ever know the difference. It's as good as new while retaining its antique qualities. It's a joy to look at and this repair made my damaged antique lamp once again a valuable antique lamp!

It was easy to get a quote from Franklin Art Glass and they scheduled me right away for the repairs. The person who came to do the repairs was punctual and very friendly. The repairs look great. I would use them again.

 + 0 moreI stopped in to Franklin Art Glass, gave them my information and was contacted the next day to set up an appointment. They worked around my schedule and came out at my earliest convenience. Jeremy replaced the pane, cleaned up, put the furniture back and charged $20 less than the original estimate. You can hardly tell the window was ever repaired.
Description of Work: We had a cracked pane replaced in one of our 85 year old leaded glass windows.

They were extremely easy to work with and helpful. They had very competent workers that worked with my brother and me to create the pieces. They were a great resource. They are artists in their own right and worked with an artist in his own right. They were extremely competent. They were very careful with their work.
Description of Work: We used Franklin Art Glass Studios to do a bunch of glasswork for us. They did stained glass windows. We gave them a design and they worked with us to pick out the glass and then actually construct the windows. Then we had them installed in our home.

 + -1 moreI had a broken interior window (between a hallway and a bedroom). It was made out of 1" reeded and textured glass. Franklin Art Glass showed me the most similar glass they had, and eventually recommended Schwartz Glass. Schwartz Glass was able to cut the replacement glass for me. It was actually called Krystal Flutex.
Description of Work: I was looking for some textured reeded glass. Although Franklin Art Glass was unable to provide the glass I wanted they were willing to give me the names of companies they thought might be able to help me out. They directed me to Schwartz Glass.

 + -1 moreAfter getting a quote from another company that was far more than I wanted to spend, I emailed Franklin Art Glass, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within a couple of hours, giving me a range of prices for the glass I was interested in. I stopped by the shop, and was shown several examples of glass, all of which were actually less expensive than the email quote. I made my selection, paid, and left. A couple of hours later, they contacted me to say the glass was cut and ready for pickup. The price was about a third of what another company quoted, and Franklin has a huge selection to choose from.
Description of Work: Cut four pieces of glass for cabinet doors.

 + -1 moreI requested a quote over the phone for the repair of a broken glass component of an 80 year old leaded glass window. A representative from Franklin Art Glass came out to remove the leaded window and boarded up the window. They took it back to the shop. Someone from the store called me to let me know that they did not have the exact specialized piece and suggested a substitute as well as a way to install it that would look appropriate. We agreed on the change and the window was reinstalled about a week later. It looks great and period-appropriate. When we got the bill, the total was about $200 higher than my verbal quote. Franklin agreed to honor the initial verbal quote, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: Franklin Art Glass removed, reglazed and replaced broken glass in a leaded glass window in our front door.

 + -1 moreAlthough it seemed expensive for two small doors, Franklin Art Glass was very professional, completed the work in a matter of about 2 days, and most importantly the doors looked great when they were completed. They are a great choice if you have historic stained or leaded glass that you need looking good and can afford to have it fixed.
Description of Work: They replaced about 7 missing glass panels and repaired leading in two 1918 leaded glass oak panel cabinet doors. Glass was replaced with restoration glass, which has a similar look to the original glass.
