I had originally called Fire & Ice for the $59.00 Big Deal (Pre-Season, 17 Point A/C Inspection and Tune Up). Brian came out and told me that our A/C unit was in very poor condition and should be replaced asap. I knew this because it had "frozen up" a couple times last summer and it was in really bad shape. He asked if I would like someone to come out and give me an free no-pressure estimate for a new A/C and I said yes. After seeing the reviews on Angie's list for this company, I felt confident that they were a company I could trust. He called the office and just a few minutes later, I received a call from a lady named Maggie. She said she could be at my home in about an hour. When she came out, I mentioned that the furnace we had was very old (1978!) and asked for an estimate on replacing that also. She asked questions about the house, took window measurements, measured the size of the current furnace, etc. in order to determine what models I could use in the house. She gave me 3 different options and I was able to find one around the price we were looking for. On the estimate, I received credit for the $59.00 big deal since Brian wasn't really able to do much for the unit I had. I also had a coupon from Angie's list for $500.00 off a furnace and A/C trade in for new ones. Maggie was very knowledgeable about all the products and was great to work with through the whole process. The day everything was installed, Will came out right on time with another young man and they worked really hard all day long. When they left, there was no mess at all. That was great. Maggie came back out after the installation and checked everything out and took photos of the new furnace and A/C. We even received a letter from the owner thanking us for our business. I thought that was really nice, it was nice to know our business was appreciated. It was a real pleasure working with Fire & Ice and I could recommend them to anyone. Thanks for everything Maggie!

The staff who answered the phone were friendly, and I was able to schedule an appointment within the same week. Everything went well. He was very prompt and worked continuously. Material was draped everywhere he walked and took equipment to protect my floors. He also wore shoe covers. He explained everything when he had completed the work. I have had this service completed previously by masterclean for a lesser price, in a smaller home (townhome). However, I think I prefer the way this company used different equipment to complete the job. The brush vac is an excellent idea.

The tech documented all measured specs and answered all of my questions. The price was great with the Angie special.

I was very satisified with them. I looked up their record before I called and it was good. They definitely lived up to their record. I'm actually going to switch A/C companies and start using them instead.

I thought they did a great job. They told me everything I needed to know. Based on the age of my system it needs to be replaced. They gave me an alternate for a new system but said this one was still fine. I would definitely call them back when I'm ready to have a new system put in.

They are fantastic and I would absolutely use them again in the future. They went over and above. They had an idea on how to take care of the duct work in the attic while other companies did not. This is a stand up company that you normally do not find.

I was so happy that such early hours for an appointment. I had them over between 7am to 8 am. The company was very professional. I believe they had even called me first to set-up the appointment instead of waiting for me to call them. The tech (Kelly) was punctual and professional. I was down in my basement the whole time with the tech and watched her perform the whole tune up. She was great with my animals (2 cats and 1 dog), who seem to be "starved" for attention. She even performed a few tests with one hand petting my dog and other on her machine/ device. I look forward to working with them in the future.

Kelly arrived on time and was professional and courteous. She serviced the furnace and then went through the description of the work she performed line by line. We are very pleased with Fire & Ice and Angie.

Bought the Angie's List specially priced furnace inspection. Kelly came out and was very professional, seemed thorough, answered questions, etc.This winter the air in our house has seemed very dry. Finally I checked the humidifier and it is not working. I called Fire & Ice and asked if the humidifier was checked during the inspection -- they said it should have been. When I made an appointment to have them come out and look at the humidifier, I was told it would be $85 just to come out! I am not happy with this experience. Next time my furnace is "thoroughly inspected" I will interrogate the person afterwards to make sure they looked at everything! UPDATE: To reply to the owner, it was obvious by December that the humidifier was not working properly: my family had very dry skin and there was static electricity in our clothes. Unfortunately, my life was rather hectic at that time -- my father died, and in addition to Christmas activity I was very ill and had an operation. I did call the office and explained that the humidifier was not working, and the woman cheerfully said that the company would take care of it when I was able to have a repair person come out. Unfortunately I did not specifically ask her to take my name down, write a note to the owner, etc. so there was no record of me calling. I had another company come in to inspect the system when we had problems with the a/c. They pointed out several problems that Fire & Ice did not notice and take care of at their inspection, and replaced the humidifier solenoid. I am completely satisfied with this other company and will be using them in the future.

The experience overall was a pleasant experience and I learned a great deal about how a furnace and a heap pump works together. Kelly was very knowledgeable and very eager to share that information with me.

Bright and early Thursday morning our furnace started making loud clicking noises. Panicked because of the really cold weather and at the thought of having no working furnace, my daughter turned to Angie's List to find a service provider. Being close to home, we chose Fire & Ice. I went over to their office to see if we could hopefully have someone look at our furnace the same day. The receptionist was very nice & was able to call Kelly who was able to stop by our house to take a look at it before her 1st morning appointment. Kelly was informative, very thorough, detailed and took her time to diagnose, clean out & fix our furnace. She was efficient, professional and had a great sense of humor. My family and I would recommend and definitely use Fire & Ice again! Kelly was fantastic! Thanks for saving us on that cold, cold day!

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Daniel did our estimate, told us about some additional rebates ending this year, stayed late at the office to meet us to sign the papers and came out to supervise the day of the install, as well as followed up by phone that week and in person a week later. He is extremely knowledgeable, not pushy and actually recommended a less expensive furnace than another company quoted, based on the size of our house. Typically you see the sales guy once and then the guys that show up to deliver or do the work know nothing but what is on their work order and we have to explain everything again. F&I actually take considerable notes and pictures during the estimate, and then review the job with the team the morning of the install, including the pics and notes so everyone is on the same page. Made us feel much more comfortable knowing that the installers knew the same thing Daniel did. The installers were professional, respectful, thorough and cleaned everything up. We love the new furnace, which runs quiet, consistent and will save us a considerable amount on our gas bill. With allergies and 5 pets, we have already noticed a tremendous difference in the air, sleep better and dust less! Highly recommend Fire & Ice and ask for Daniel to do your estimate. This company definitely wants their customers to more than just satisfied, but truly happy from start to finish. One piece of advice, check your pilot light on your water heater before they leave :-) We had an awfully cold shower that night!

It all started with my annual checkup performed by Kelly. She had a camera and showed me the huge and dangerous holes in the furnace. It had rusted through, probably at least 4 -5 years ago. I had been getting inspections by several companies over the years, and she is the only one who apparently did the job correctly. I could have died! Anyway, after the report, my Home Warranty company, AHS, insisted their own rep come out. He found the same holes. I could have gone with that guy, who underbid F&I, but he was NOT on Angie's list and had just incorporated his company in June 2011. I did not want to trust someone who is just starting out. I relied on Angie's list reports and the BBB records. AHS would only pay fully for a 80% efficient furnace. Why would I do the minimum when the bar is being raised each year by the govt and energy experts? (I will be dropping AHS at the end of my subscription! I've been with them for 13 years and they gave me $777 for a furnace buyout!) The salesman showed me my options, and I chose the next to the premium model. It was installed about 1 -2 weeks later in about 8 hours. They worked hard straight through their lunch. I would have liked them to take time to eat. They were nice and deserved a break. For the great service, I would have not minded an hour to rest. I am really impressed.

Kelly did a great job. She seemed to enjoy explaining what she was doing while my husband looked on. She was very competent and friendly.

Everything on our 12 year old HVAC system checked out fine. The gentleman checked for carbon monoxide and gas leaks among other things. I told him I just replace the fiter a couple of weeks ago; he said that was great. He even checked for mold and cleanliness of the duct work. Again all was fine with no problems. He was very professional and even tried to make friends with our toy fox terier who would have nothing to do with him. I purchased this service through the Angie's List Deal program and they were pro-active and contact me within a couple of days wanting to schedule the service. They even called the day before to remind me of the schedule visit. I have not used this company before so I was apprehensive, not knowing if he would find something that needed "repaired" or wanted to sign me up for additional services. Fortunately it all checked out and he made no mention of any service contract. However, I see from the invoice that he did recommended a service contact, still he made no verbal mention of it or was in any way pushy about it. It was a soft sell. This is a top-notch company and I would highly recommend them.

The company and the service person were very prompt, polite and professional. I used a coupon from Angie's list to get my furnace inspected and everything went very smoothly from start to finish, and the service person doing the inspection was very nice and helpful about answering my questions.

Great from start to finish. The technician actually showed up early which was great! He performed the maintenance and did not try to sell me on any new products or services, which I appreciate. The tech was also very helpful in answering my questions and presented himself very professionally as well let me watch over his shoulder as he performed the system maintenance. Fire & Ice actually called me to set up the appointment, which I found very convenient. The tech arrived right when she said she would, and she was so pleasant to talk to. She got right down to business and got my furnace all ready for winter. She let me look over her shoulder and also pointed out some issues we might have down the road, without being pushy/trying to get me to fix it right then. I will definitely call Fire & Ice whenever I need future furnace service.

They were very responsive and made the appointment right away. The technician was on time, polite, and professional and explained every step in detail and gave suggestions for maintaining our unit. He also took care of inspecting and setting the humidifier which I had forgotten about.

Fire and Ice was offing an Angie's List special for a 17 point furnace inspection. Definitely a great value! Having put off an inspection since moving in 4 years ago, I expected some repairs would be needed, However, the technician only recommended replacing the furnace filter and the humidifier screen. She also recommended a service contract in case the furnace would need repairs in the future at an inopportune time. She was prompt and professional and put on booties when entering the house.

I called ahead to make sure that they would be there for the service call. They didn’t show up. I called a half hour after they were supposed to show for the appointment. I never received a call. When I did finally call again, they had left and I got their answering machine.
