Description of Work: Performed heater inspection and cleaning per terms of Angie's Coupon. Disappointment came on a weekend in December when it was cold and our heater died. I called their 24 hrs response a minimum 3 times and NEVER got even the courtesy of a response, let alone ANY service. I ended up calling 2 other services and one was out within less than an hour (Atlas Butler). I've used Fire and Ice for many years at my residence as well as my mother-in-law's condo nearby. So, loyalty obviously doesn't mean anything. I won't be using Fire and Ice again, although when they do show up, service is typically good. I need to know I can count on someone like that when I have an emergency and that's where Fire and Ice get a solid F.

Description of Work: OK I did soooo much reserach for a good AC company.I know AC compnay can be shady and rip you off in some casesso I wanted to void shady company at all cost. I found this company on angie's list and conatcted about poorly working AC unit. 17 years old. I was expecting to hear to replace it or fix it at very high price. To my supprise, this technitian from Fire and Ice looked at our AC unit and Furnace then said, " Your furnace is frozen. All you have to do is to run dry air for about 24hours" That was it!! Dahhhhhhhh. He only charged me $85 house call fee. And I used $25 Angie's coupon so in the end my AC problem was solved only for $60!!! I will call them again for Furnace and AC unit maintenance next!!

Description of Work: We took advantage of an Angie's List "Big Deal" for A/C Spring servicing with Fire and Ice Air Conditioning.First of all, let me say, that this company is absolutely superb, and I would rate them A t t !! The lady who came to perform the work was warm, friendly, extremely knowledgable and professional, and was a real joy to have here!!She performed the inspection, used our hose to clean the coils, neatly wrapped up the hose when she was finished and returned it to its original condition. She then sat down with us and went over EVERYTHING...almost more detail than I wanted to hear!! However, she explained all the big A/C words and phrases and put them in "layman's terms"; answered all my questions and made me feel like I was her most important customer!I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone needing any type of heating and A/C work. She explained the company's maintenance and servicing program but did NOT try to pressure us into purchasing it.

Description of Work: Inspection proved that my furnace and air units needed replacement ASAP. I was leaving for vacation on Oct. 3 and they were able to meet my schedule by installing both before Oct. 3. A few weeks ago the fan was blowing only cold air. I called and the Rep. came out immediately and found and replaced a defective peice on the furnace. Great service.

Description of Work: Furnace Tune-Up: Serviceman came to the house and checked the thermostat and then went down to the basement and checked the furnace (changed filter with new one I had on hand, looked here and there with electrical probes and mirrors). Reported that furnace was old and would have to be replaced in near future but would probably work ok over the winter. Total visit lasted 30-40 minutes or so

Description of Work: The service I ordered from Angie's list was a winter furnace inspection service for $59.00. I have two furnaces, so ordered two inspections for around $120.00 total. The company was very friendly when I contacted them to set-up an appointment and quickly scheduled my service. One furnace uses and electric air filter, plus some metal mesh screens that need cleaned both during the spring and winter months. The other furnace uses an Aprialaire filter that needs replaced once a year. Prior service contracts while on sale cost me around $90.00 per unit, but they spent about an hour and a half checking the units, cleaning and replacing filters on the furnaces and humidifiers and parts as needed. Fire and Ice spent around an hour and a half to do both units, replaced at least one humidifier filter (which I had on hand), but did not ask to clean the electric air filter, or install the Aprilaire filter replacement that I bought and placed by the furnace. I am not sure how to judge this service, but it was done in half the time that other companies have done in the past. Last year an other comapny my PVC vent tubing was leaking, so I sealed all the connections. They also asked if they wanted the company to clean the electric filters and they did install the new filter element for the Aprilaire furnace filter. So, was this a deal, or not? I think I will go back to the company I had out last year rather than a "sale deal".

Description of Work: Our 16 year old AC unit finally died and we had a few estimates from a few different companies. Fir and Ice was about in the middle of all the estimates. Daniel came out and gave us an estimate and was very thourogh in his explanation of what work was to be done. They install crew came out about a week later and had the new outside unit and inside unit installed ion about 5 hours. They were very nice and seemed to know what to do. When finished they explained what had been done and cleaned up perfectly. They also fixed how the inside coil was connected to our furnace as it was originally installed wrong when house was built this was included in price and now we get better air flow throughout the whole house. About a month after the install Daniel came back out and inspected the work to make sure it was correct and to our satisfaction. We chose a Fire nd Ice branded Westinghouse unit as they stand by it with a 10 year parts and labor warranty which was the best one we were offered out of all the estimates. We are very pleased with their work and Will use them again and recommend them to all.

Description of Work: We had a problem with the AC. The Fire and Ice employee checked everything thoroughly and solved the problem. He did an excellent job. We will continue to use Fire and Ice for all our AC and heating from now on.

Description of Work: We ultimately went with another company only because we needed to go with the least-expensive offer. However, we were so happy with the professionalism of the sales rep, that I wanted to leave feedback that it was a pleasure interacting with him. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them for a quote on anything.

Description of Work: The furnace was not working. The individual, John, tested it and found that a sensor needed to be cleaned. He cleaned it and the furnace started working again. I was happy that it was not a bigger repair. The diagnostic fee was $85. Was surprised that it cost $51 just to clean the sensor!

Description of Work: They replaced the High Temp Control. It quit working and within 4 hours they were here to diagnose the problem. Came back the following morning to put the part in. Very nice and polite.
