+ -1 moreStill waiting for him to look at it and reseed once more. Lawn does look better. Still some bald spots.
Description of Work: Needed my grass reseeded. Charged me $300 to reseed. Came twice but said he would continue to watch it and reseed again if necessary. Needs more and said he would come back.

+ 0 moreIt was fine. He was reliable and came when he said he would. He did what he was suppose to do. We were not happy with some of the edging around trees and were not thrilled with the topsoil. They could use better mulch and topsoil.
Description of Work: They did some edging, brought in topsoil and mulched.

+ 0 moreThey were unprofessional and didn’t finish their work. I felt like the price was outrageous for the work that was being done.
Description of Work: I felt like he wanted to be paid ahead of time. I had hired him to be my lawn man. He wanted to be paid a month in advance and then sometimes he would start and not finish the job. There were several jobs including a lawn cutting job and hedges were to be trimmed. However, the jobs were finished after I gave them a call. I would have to call and let them know and even took pictures so that they were aware of what wasn't completed.

+ -1 moreThey charged fair prices, even doing extra work at no charge. The owner continues to come by to check up on the work and make sure everything still looks great. We would continue to use their services. They did an excellent job, it is a beautiful landscape.
Description of Work: They implemented a pre-designed landscape plan. They came right out immediately worked through the holiday and weekend to get the job done. When we had concerns they corrected them. This work included some building, putting pavers down and all digging and planting. They trimmed trees and disposed of older plants.

+ 1 moreThe weed & overgrowth clearing was great. Gave us a clean slate to work with. All tree and bush trimming was unsatisfactory. Fair has no training in horticulture and obviously does not know how to trim a tree or bush in a healthy way. The trees & bushes were hacked with a chainsaw in random places. The trees were only trimmed as far as his 12' ladder would reach, which made me feel that he was falsely advertising a tree-trimming service. When he cut down my dead tree, something large fell onto the house & caused the entire house to shake, and when asked about it, he was defensive & he said it was just a little branch. His crew members chainsawed the fallen tree on my concrete, which left marks. Finally, the walkway job was poor. He did not follow the existing pattern & argued with me when I pointed it out. He didn't do the tuck-pointing so we deducted $25 from the total, saying we'd pay him the rest when he returned to finish. He accused us of not trusting him & stormed off, mad.
Description of Work: I called Fair Landscaping & Design because the ad said they do tree trimming, yard waste removal, landscape design, etc. I asked if they do tree removal. He said yes. When Mike arrived, he immediately started pointing out all of the different things wrong with my house & what needs to be done, before I had a chance to get straight to the point to tell him what I wanted him to do. We finally discussed what I wanted done and agreed upon a price for them to clear weeds & overgrowth, cut a dead tree and trim bushes & trees ($700), fix a brick walkway that had been dismantled when a waterline was installed ($75), and tuck-point my front steps ($25) for a total of $800. I paid half down, and we agreed I'd pay the rest when he finished the entire job. Fair & crew cleared overgrowth in several areas, trimmed the bushes, cut down the dead tree, trimmed some tree branches on 3 trees, and partially re-bricked my walkway. He did not tuckpoint the steps so he didn't get paid for that portion.
