We live in a newly built home designed by architect Tom Nau in a 'modern farmhouse' type of style. Brian and his team did all of the exterior masonry as well as a three-sided stone wall inside of our home. The craftsmanship is impeccable. We also truly appreciate how he stands behind his work. Whenever we had a question or concern, Brian was always ready and willing to listen. Thank you, Brian! We love the results.

As written above, there is not a lot more to say other than if you want it done right the first time and on time to perfection, Brian Bresson and his team are tops. I went to Columbus Coal and Lime where Brian once worked looking for a quality brick mason. Boy did I get lucky when the management suggested Brian out of about a dozen business cards on the wall. Like shoe cobblers, quality brick masons are a dying breed and thank god that Epic Masonry carries on a proud tradition....with a fabulous personality to boot!
Description of Work: A Herculean feat! Brian and a team of 5 others moved an 850 pound stone for the base and gas fireplace. He had one chance to sit this monster sized stone in correctly between the hardwood (fairly new) and they did it perfectly. He also was professional and courteous as were all of the six men involved. Brian came back a week or two later and sealed the stone to keep the perfect clean look. He always returned my emails and phone calls if I had questions or suggestions. Could not ask for a more professional contractor or person. He will likely rebuild my front porch which was completed screwed up by Inspired Landscape.

I had a special request to not have the stone powder on my roof. They covered my roof while they worked and afterwards there was no signs that they had been there. I did find on the stone sill that one area was uneven. When they came back out to make sure everything was performed to my liking, they corrected the sill right away. I was quite pleased with the work.
Description of Work: I had a chimney that was starting to weaken and crumble, they rebuilt the top of my chimney. They also placed a stone window sill underneath my window.

Integrity Masonry was very prompt in appearing for an estimate and provided a timely and reasonable estimate. They appeared on time as promised to do the job as scheduled, and did very professional work. Arnold was very helpful in explaining what was needed to remedy the problems, and was particular about the completion of the work, and left the property in a neat and clean condition. We would definitely recommend Integrity Masonry to do similar work.

I highly recommend Epic Masonry. So easy to talk to, so easy to work with. They really made sure they understood what we needed, including trying to blend new bricks into old on an 1891 home. They were flexible with their timeframes, cleaned up well, and always returned emails very promptly.

Brian was great! We had more damage than anticipated. He worked all through the weekend to get the job done. He kept me involved of every step. When the wood behind the stone was damaged, he showed me the damage and asked how I wanted to proceed. Once I confirmed with him that I was okay with calling in a carpenter, he got a carpenter in the next day (on Sunday). For the damage around the window, he called the window company (since those will be replaced in Nov or Dec) to determine what they would fix versus what he and the carpenter needed to fix. He did a great job and would highly recommend him.

(1) Epic provided a timely and complete estimate. The estimate seemed like a lot until I observed how much work they were doing. The owners were a pleasure to interact with. (2) Weather posed some real constraints about when the work could be done: communication about possible starting dates, delays, etc. was good. (This sort of communication is important to us.) (3) The finished work was very good: we were more than pleased. (The window installer, when he came to measure the opening, thought that the opening was original and was surprised to learn that it was a couple of weeks old.) (4) A single concern (some mortar on the surface of bricks) was corrected immediately.
Description of Work: Constructed opening for a new window (4 x 6 feet) in a previously solid exterior brick wall. This involved removing a section of brick wall (including space to install a steel support over the new opening), cutting out enough surrounding brick to allow installation of new bricks in a pattern matching the original wall, and installing new brick-work and a new stone sill.

Description of Work: This was a big job, and these guys are great. Tore off old brick on house, including chimney, new stonework on inside fireplace, new steps, stairway and porch on front of house, pavers on drive. Big job, and it was perfect. Professional, hardworking, regularly consulting as project progressed. Brian and Mike are outstanding, and rest of crew was unbeatable, including Mike, Ray, Henry and the nuclear man Tom! I have an outdoor patio area to do this spring and they'll be back for that. This was an 8 month project, many steps in their operation had to wait for other things to finish around the house, but they were always here when we were ready for another step.

It was not a good experience, for the money that we paid we dont feel like we got a quality job, as it was a lot of money. We had to end up redoing the grout and we did a better job than what they did, but they were the professionals. They are supposed to come out and fix this, but we will see if they do. Three or four weeks after they completed the job the grout was already starting to come undone. The service provider told my husband that he gives a higher estimate because in the past he has underestimated the cost and that is why he gave a higher estimate. He told us that if we basically got the area ready for them to come and work we wouldn't pay as much, we did this for them and still paid the exact estimate that he gave us.
Description of Work: We have a slate patio and the grout between the stones started to come out and needed to be redone, so they redid this.

Brian came to our house to look at the job and give us an estimate. He checked into using new bricks but was unable to get the brick salesman to call him back in a timely manner. Although we wanted to use the original bricks, we were not sure if they would clean up well. Brian and his workers did a terrific job. The area looks like it belongs and not like something that was newly put there. Brian was courteous and responded promptly to emails. Should we have similar work that needs to be done in the future, we would absolutely call Brian to complete the work for us.
Description of Work: They took apart the brick area leading up to our front door which includes a rounded area and a step up. A chunk of the bricks had broken loose. They took apart the whole area, cleaned the bricks and then put them back. The result is fantastic! Our house is brick and it was important to be able to re-use the original bricks so the area would match the house.

Epic came out to the house and gave an estimate on repairing damaged/broken mortar in the brick sidewalk near the driveway and on the front steps along with replacing manufactured stone that had fallen off the front of the house. They were the fourth company that had looked at the work and the only one that provided an estimate. The others, it seems, must not have been interested in doing the work. The biggest concern was closely matching the mortar so the repair work did not look so obvious. Epic spent the time to come up with a close match that we approved prior to starting the work. On the day of the repair they telephoned to say they would be about 15 minutes late. When they arrived, they worked on the repair until completed. They even offered to do a little extra work at no extra charge. I authorized the work and paid them a little extra. There was a couple of minor things that required followup and they were very responsive. While I thought the price was a little more than I expected to pay, the quality of work more than made up for it; especially since three other companies did not even provide an estimate.

The first two layers of brick on the wall were crumbling and damaged. There was also some erosion further down on the wall. I received several estimates for the repairs. Epic Masonry was the lowest price. I spoke with Brian to make the appointment for the estimate and he was very nice and personable. He emailed me the estimate and also responded to some of my questions by email. He seemed very knowledgeable regarding the repairs that were needed. We decided on replacing a section of the wall that was about 2ft. by 6 ft. This was similar to the suggestions made by the other companies from whom I received estimates. The job was scheduled and Brian arrived on time. He was good at communicating with me exactly what he planned to do and checked with me regarding changes in the plan before proceeding. He and his partner did a great job building the new portion of the wall and with clean up. When they were finished they asked me to inspect their work and their clean up to see if I was pleased with it. I asked them to clean up a few minor things and they were happy to do it. I say this just to commend them on their attention to detail and desire to please the customer. They were very pleasant to work with and I would recommend their work. I would definitely call them again if I have any further need for masonry work.

We haphazardly came across Epic Masonry when ordering stone for our outdoor fireplace. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS we found them. What a breath of fresh air. Very knowledgeable and honest. We had wanted the dry stack look with no mortar in between stones. Brian said he could do that, but did not recommend especially being outdoor. He said we could very easily have stones popping off. He recommended thin line of mortar in between stones which we did and are so happy with. Was nice to have someone be honest and looking out for us, not just to make a buck. Very, very, very professional. Brian returned phone calls immediately. They were running a bit late the first morning and Brian called to explain the reason why (which was a legitimate reason). We didn't have to sit here and wonder if they might show up. Once they arrived and began the work Brian had a few suggestions on how to improve the look. Of course we took his suggestions and it totally enhanced the end product. Brian and Mike worked effeciently. They were very careful not to damage any of our personal property, plants etc. They completely cleaned up after each day of work. We had to clean up nothing! You could tell that Brian and Mike enjoy what they do. There was no trash talk at all which was greatly appreciated as we have kids around. Just professional conversation. Their price, was very, very good and their quality of work unbelievable! We are just so impressed with Mike and Brian that we would highly recommend to anyone. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Brian and Mike!!

Great experience, the job was far more involved than we thought originally thought. The first plan was just to replace a couple of loose pavers. When Brian and his partner got into the job it was clear that the steps needed to be taken down and rebuilt. They were very professional and gave us a fair price. We are extremely pleased with the finished result.

It was a very positive experience. The completed job is excellent. They were a true joy to work with; they were prompt and customer oriented. They took their time with me to brain storm ideas on how to correct a wet basement.

Because we had a structural engineer look at the issue, we knew exactly what was causing the bricks to crack and move. Thus, we knew what it was going to take to repair the wall. The first brick guy we called wanted to do way more than was necessary, including taking down the retaining wall and resloping the hill. When we called Epic, we explained the issue, got an estimate, and scheduled the work. They totally understood the problem and fit the repair to the problem. The repaired area looks wonderful.
Description of Work: Bricks had cracked and were moving apart due to an improper use of rebar as a retaining wall stabilizer. The broken bricks were removed, the rebar cut, and new bricks fitted in place.

Everything was marvelous. I have received many, many compliments on the beauty of the wall. They matched the brick to my house, and I really liked their attitudes. We decided on the type of ledgestone we wanted and had several masons submit bids. The bid we received from Brian Bresson and Mike Potochnik of Epic Masonry was not the lowest, but we thought that is was both fair and reasonable, especially since they explained how we could save money by removing the wood ourselves (pretty easy). They came to our house several times to bring us samples, and answer any questions we had. Covering a wall in stone requires not only solid masonry skills, but also an artist's eye for shape and arrangement. We felt confident that Brian and Mike were the right choice and we could not be more delighted with everything they did: They were responsive and punctual, courteous and helpful, honest and forthright, and the result is astounding. Brian and Mike came back after a couple of days, checked everything, decided they weren't totally happy with a couple of stones, they replaced them and -- incredibly -- gave us a check for $97. Why? We ended up not needing as much ledgestone as they originally thought and so they gave us a refund. Who does that? Needless to say, we had no idea and did not expect a refund, but it is further evidence of how reliable and trustworthy Epic Masonry is.
Description of Work: Our fireplace was covered in the ugliest, gnarliest wood planks in some sort of chevron pattern -- evidently that was considered a statement of high design in the '80s when the house was built. We decided to remove the wood and cover the fireplace wall in ledgestone.
