Energy Tech Insulation

They were pretty quick and we got most of what we wanted. We were only disappointed with one thing. We were told they would perform a thermal scan of the house. However, that scan was never performed despite contacting them on several occasions. Because that scan was not in the contract, we did not make a fuss about it. I would recommend that if they tell you they will perform that scan to be sure it is included in your contract. Other than that, we were pretty pleased with their service. They gave us a discount on the price for Angie's List members. We were also very satisfied with the outcome in terms of how much money we were saving on heating gas during the fall and winter.

I actually got three quotes. All the three quotes came in higher than what I expected. These guys were fine.

They were very polite and helpful. They did the work in a timely manner.

I tried to make an appointment with him several weeks ahead and had one which he called and cancelled a few hours before. I was assured he would call back and reschedule -- after a couple months I am pretty sure that he will not do so. It was hard enough to reach him to schedule in the first place, so I give up. Apparently he has too much business to handle or keep track of, so beware.

I got another company to come out and give me an estimate that was around $3000. They were excellent. They were speedy, they cleaned up after themselves, they were punctual, and the product was even better than advertised. It was a very good experience.

Three guys came out on a Saturday and knocked it out in just a few hours. Very professional job. We were initially not going to insulate the walls, but Glen convinced us otherwise. The cost was extremely fair and Glen is a professional.

They did a really good job. Everything was great. The installers and the sales person who came out to give the quote were good. They underbid 2-3 other contractors by more than 50 percent.

They were thorough and they had good reviews online. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Ohio Gas paid for all of it. The experience is fine, I'll tell you later is my heat bill goes down around 20-30% like it's supposed to. I think the quality is fine, but I think the proof is in the energy usage we are supposed to save.

They were quick to come and a give me an estimate and do the work in a timely manner so I could qualify for rebates offered thru Columbia Gas. They went beyond duty to point out additional problems and try to resolve them for me. They cleaned up after themselves and kept dust to a minimum.

I thought that their pricing was reasonable. They did a good job.

A quality job performed quietly and effectively. John and Rusty arrived on time a few days later to add baffles and blow the insulation into attic and overhead garage areas . Both said little but got the job done quickly (approx 4 hours) and cleaned up after themselves. They covered the floor under the tube to protect the carpet. The tube was brought into a second floor window and then up into the attic. They also took a 220 line for their motor through a down stairs window and connected to the stove plug. I was impressed that they blocked heat loss through the window using a piece of insulation. During the installation, I sat in my office next to the window that was ( partially) open and I was warm, despite the fact that it was in the 40s outside. I'm looking forward to improved heating efficiency. This should also reduce ice damming on our roof due to melting roof snow.

Energy Tech did a great job for us. They blew in insulation both in our attic and in our exterior walls. They also added a couple of new soffits in our attic and insulated and framed an attic access door. We would definately hire Energy Tech again.

I was very happy with the service. They were responsive when I called them for scheduling. They were prompt in arriving. They were personable and seemed to work diligently in doing the air sealing. I would use them again in the future.

First had an energy audit performed on my 1930 built home thru Columbia Gas Home Performance Solutions Program. From Columbia Gas' list of approved contractors, I got quotes from two, but Glenn Kubinski of Energy Tech stood out with a very detailed quote. He was very knowledgeable about the quirks of old homes and took the time to thoroughly explain what he would be doing. His staff was personable and worked quickly with little mess, explaining what they would be doing as they went along. Cleaned up afterwards. Columbis Gas just completed an audit of the work done by Energy Tech in March 2011 and told me their workmanship was excellent. Said they did everything they were supposed to do and did it well. thanks to them, my energy consumption was reduced this past winter.

They had a fast response and they did a great job.

I had a good experience with Energy Tech Insulation. They were over time and job was done as evenly as expected. They worked in the evening and ordered pizza. It was a $2000 job but, we ended up paying only $700.

I contacted ETI based on Angie's List and a neighbors referral. My experience with ETI was over phone, having a site inspection done, and requesting a quote . I was very disappointed with ETI. First I could not get anyone to call me back. I called four times over three weeks before I got anyone to return my call. Finally I did get Glenn to call me back and he scheduled a site inspection. That part was fine. He seemed to be honest and knew his business. He understood what I wanted pricing on, made his recommendations, and said he would get me a quote. He took his measurement and went on his way. I felt we were back on track. That was the last I heard from Glen. No quote, no call, nothing. I know they were busy due to the energy tax credit program but what I saw was a total lack of responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism. What a waste of my time.

Excellent job. The crew arrived on time, worked hard, and insulated the entire attic and crawl spaces.

I met with Glen (the owner) who really took the time to answer my questions as to what was needed and what to expect. I cannot believe how much warmer my home is and the problem areas are now history. I have bragged to all that will listen of the difference it has made. The crew was very professional , ontime , and very polite.

They did a great job also. The guy that came out to do the initial estimate spent about 2 hours making sure he was able to insulate all areas appropriately. He was the owner and I felt comfortable with them and I was referred to them by a friend who used them and found them on Angie's List.

We added insulation to the insulation we had because the insulation standards for our values have increased so much. We spent around $1000 on that service. We did not dislike anything and we liked that it was the actual owner of the company that came out and inspected the premises and made his recommendations. Other members of the family worked for the business and we think that makes the worker more invested in doing the job correctly. They job turned out great and we don’t have big icicles this year.

Energy was awesome, it was very well done. They were in and out and cleaned up after themselves.

We got 3 estimates and Energy Tech was not only the least expensive but it was the least messy - they offered to take off aluminum siding and do most of the insulation from the outside, 2nd company would only insulate from the inside - much messier - and 3rd company was much more expensive. They were very thorough and friendly. The only reason they didn't get all A's is that the owner can be very slow to return phone calls because he's so overworked.
