Description of Work: The crew and customer service woman were wonderful to work with...I did not have a good experience with the man who came out to provide us with an estimate. He misled me. The crew and office manager made up for his shortcomings which is why I would consider using them again in the future. The crew was professional and kind. They did a great job and the difference in our home has already been extremely noticeable.

Description of Work: They added insulation in the attic, sealed the can lights throughout the kitchen and living room, blew insulation into the walls through the stucco exterior, sealed those holes, sealed all penetrations from the interior to the exterior of the house and added insulation at the foundation, and sealed the basement to the first floor (for plumbing or electrical or HVAC lines). The did a blower test when finished to determine the improvement from the energy auditor's finding.

Description of Work: They did attic sealing and insulating, which went well. They were also supposed to vacuum the roof vent, but the results were not good, so they discounted that cost.

Description of Work: Installed celulose insulation in outer walls and ceilings under unheated areas. Installed fiberglass insulation in attic. Installed a roof vent. Sealed old flue pipe; removed old flue vent. Sealed penetrations in the attic and basement areas. Installed R-19 kraft into the bandjoist of the crawlspace. Installers were quite hard working and very competent.

Description of Work: In late 2010, I enrolled in a Columbia Gas Home Energy Efficiency Program. In January 2011 I received the necessary energy audit and followed up with their recommendations for the installation of insulation into my exterior sidewalls and attic, and air infiltration sealing as well as an optional crawlspace insulation. I chose Energy Tech Insulation, Inc. (1118 Hepplewhite St., Westerville, Ohio 43081, 614-487-8884) from a list of approved vendors based on reports I found on Angie's List. After an initial phone call for an appointment, the owner, Glen Kubinski, came to my home to explain the work, the process and the potential benefits and provided me with a written estimate and descriptive work order. On March 22, 2011 a crew arrived as expected to install the cellulose material from the outside after removing the necessary aluminum siding. While one crew completed that job, another crew was working inside on the crawl space and on sealing existing holes around plumbing in the basement and under sink areas. Everything was completed that day with a final analysis comparing the results with the initial energy audit findings. The siding was reinstalled with little evidence it had been removed and any holes in the mortar and attached garage drywall were plugged. After the crew left I went around cleaning up what little insulation dust may have filtered into living spaces inside and noticed one room was notably "dustier" than the others. I pulled back a curtain, only to discover a 5 ft. long horizontal crack in the drywall of one interrior wall that had not been there. The crack progressively separated two sections of drywall (upper and lower) as much as 1/4-1/2 in. where the additional insulation dust was able to escape. On April 23rd, Mr. Kubinski came to my home to assess the damage and help with a plan for repairs. Since that room was occupied by a college student at the time I had to plan a mutually convenient time for the room to be emptied and the repairs completed safely. After a phone call and some written communications, Mr. Kubinski and I easily came to a satisfactory agreement over the repairs to the drywall. The timeline for the repairs were at my convenience completed during the second week of June when the student left for the summer and I had vacation time to be home to supervise the activity and thoroughly inspect and document the condition of the space behind the damaged drywall. The interrior wall is now complete, a premium job at that. The insulation job was an efficient process, completed without delays and ready for this coming winter.

Description of Work: I decided to use Energy Tech for insulation after an energy audit through the gas company. Glenn the owner came out to give me an estimate about a week after I called. The estimate was lower than the other one I had got and I had talked to a few people that had used them before so I felt confident in selecting them to do the job.I scheduled them to come on Feb. 4th and arranged my schedule so that I could be home. Glenn told me they would be here around 8:30 am. Well it is now noon , and after repeated calls to his office and his cell phone I have not got a response. When I call the office the guy that answers says he will send them a message and was unable to tell me whether they are coming or not. There is a time restriction on when the work is performed in order to get rebates offered by the gas company. Now I have to find a company that can do the job in next 30 days to get the rebates. I would suggest you not use this company.

Description of Work: I called to schedule an estimate. The lady I spoke to took down my information and said someone would call to set it up. The next day someone else called and left the number for the person I was to call the next day to schedule the estimate. Too much work, they didn't want the business apparently. Not very professional, I went elsewhere.

Description of Work: My estimate covered attic area (insulation) and outside walls. After completing attic and going outside, foreman discovered outside walls had been done previously. Discovered this after wood shingles were removed. This was done prior to us moving in. Since 2 men had to bring their truck and equipment clear across town, I was expecting them to want a considerable amount more than the estimate for the attic. The foreman was so knowledgeable and easy to work with that I ended up giving him a little more than he asked for.
