Technician was prompt; disassembled television set on site, in living room. Found a bad power supply board; given the age of the system, we weren't sure if parts would be available. He gave us an estimate for the replacement part (forget the amount), and we agreed to spend the money (roughly 500 total), since the TV was over 3K back in the day. When he returned about a week later, we learned that the replacement board was less expensive, so the final cost wound up being $100 less than the original estimate. That made us happy, and the TV is back in service!
Description of Work: Diagnosed bad power supply on nine-year-old Sharp LCD TV.

They have been to my house 4 times and could not solve the problem. There have been innumerable delays over the time period including 2 screw ups on their part that are unforgivable in this day and age. They said they would order 2 additional parts (after the 1st part ordered did not fix the problem) but never put the order in - it took a week+ and 5+ phone calls on my part before they could figure out what had happened and get the parts ordered (I was told by the person handling the inquiry that no one (in her own company!) was responding to her calls or e-mails). Second, when these parts didn't fix the problem (as both the repair guy himself and I knew they wouldn't) and they had to pick up the TV, they told me a date but didn't actually put me on the schedule so they never showed and I had to reschedule. Then their truck broke down so I had to reschedule again. It took over a week just to get my TV picked up. It is now "in the shop" and I have no idea if/when it will be done.
Description of Work: I purchased a 52" Widescreen Mitsubishi DLP TV from HHGregg in Cleveland in mid 2005 and purchased the extended warranty (5yr) because: 1) I was living in an apartment downtown up a number of flights of stairs and 2) I knew I would be moving to Columbus within a year. I figured with all the bouncing around that might occur it would be a good idea. 2 years after purchase, the TV started having problems so I called HHGregg and was told that Electra Sound would provide the service for the warranty. It's been nothing but problems since. This company has no clue how to run a business and thus I wonder if they have any idea how to repair a TV. The whole process has been terrible. My initial call to them occurred early Dec 2007, it's now mid Feb 2008 and my TV is still not repaired. I happen to have a job where I have random week days off. I'm single and if I had a job that was 5 days/week and was 9-5, this process would have been even more drawn out.

It went well. They figured out what the problem was. Let us know how much the part would be. They did not force us into ordering it on the spot. The charge was reasonable for an onsite visit. The part is not reasonable - $400!!
Description of Work: They came over to look at our HDTV to see what the issue was and diagnosis the power issue.

It was just a bad experience. I had asked if they wanted my car around there. One man spoke up "Well we're lazy- you should report us!" so that's what I'm doing!
Description of Work: My remote was not working within the TV set. It would not receive signals from the hand held remote. I took it in & they said they would call me within two days to let me know the estimate. I did not hear from them for over a week. The phone number on the claim order was disconnected so I had to go back in. They said they had just hired some more help, & it would be another week. Two more weeks of waiting & my TV was ready. They changed their hours, so I had to go back one more time. On the day I went to finally retrieve my TV, they said they would load it in the car for me, & I sat there waiting, I even asked if I should move my car around to the service entrance. Finally, somebody walked over from the service entrance & asked me to move my car. When I pulled up to the service entrance they were all sitting around there smoking.

The parts are under warranty but the labor I have paid for. They have had my tv down for several months. Several different repair people have shown up. Their responsiveness is terrible. They don't have their stuff together. They keep messing up the meeting time. I've given them enough time to take care of this and it's still unresolved. They still have the parts for my tv.

TOOK TV . ESTIMATED 1-2 WEEKS DELIVERY. MEMBER CALLED BACK 6 WEEKS LATER. THEY TOLD HER IT WOULD BE DONE IN 2 DAYS BUT IT WOULD BE 2 WEEKS FOR IT TO BE DELIVERED.

ORIGINALLY TOOK IN FOR DISTORTED PICTURE RECORDING. COMPANY SAID IT WOULD BE $200 TO FIX; HELD UNIT FOR MONTHS, RETURNED IT AND CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED. UNIT STILL DIDNT WORK, MEMBER RETURNED IT FOR ADDITIONAL WORK. COMP. TOLD MEMBER AN ADDITIONAL $200 WOULD FIX IT AND HELD UNIT FOR SEVERAL MORE MONTHS. PROBLEM WAS STILL OCCURRING WHEN MEMBER RECEIVED IT BACK. TOLD MEMBER THE RECORDING HEADS WERE SHOT AND WOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER $200. MEMBER WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.
