Description of Work: Provided, programmed and keyed a new electronic ignition key. He assumed in our phone conversation I wanted just a back up key that was not programmable with all the button features and was going to charge about $60 or so. | |He seemed to realize that the public may not understand the concept and different styles of electronic keys. It was confusing to me to try and explain something not knowing the terms. So he reduced the cost of the fully programmable (all button) featured original equipment ignition key and reduced the cost from I believe $120 to $100. | |The actual cost I don't remember. I do remember through my research that for what I wanted his price was reasonable. He was very professional and courteous. I will definitely use again. | |As that I was in a hurry. I was able to meet him close by to get the work done.

Description of Work: Nice little shop - rather old fashioned, but that's where you will find good customer service and the odds and ends that modern big-box stores can't give these days. I had several keys cut there today, and when I tested 2 of those keys they didn't work. I called them to let them know, and they indicated that their work was guaranteed and that they would recut at no cost. Took keys back over and they recut immediately with no problem or negative attitude. Had no problem at all with the new set - they worked fine! I appreciated the service, even though I had to go back for a redo.

+ -1 moreThey came out within an hour of calling, which was very convenient (another place I called couldn't even come out the same day), called when on the way, arrived and performed job quickly and professionally. It was $60 service charge and $15 repair fee plus tax. Also, asked for a quote on fixing my front door lock, which needs repaired. He gave me a few tips on how to try and fix myself or a price for him to fix. Would use again. I think Steve was my repairman, real nice guy.
Description of Work: needed a broken deadbolt thumb lock fixed that was stuck, so I couldn't open my back door.

+ -1 moreI was contacted on the morning of the scheduled appointment and informed that the locksmith would be there in the afternoon. At about 3:00 p.m. I called to find out where the locksmith was and was told that he was on another service call, but would be there as soon as he finished up at the other place. At 4:45 I called back and the person finally spoke with the locksmith and I was informed that the locksmith wasn't going to be able to get out to our house and that we would have to re-schedule for the following Monday. They would not pay overtime to have the locksmith come out on a weekend or after hours to complete the work. Nobody from the company bothered to check up on their locksmith and the locksmith never called me to inform me that there was a problem with my appointment. They originally offered me a 10% discount for the inconvenience. I insisted on and received a 15% discount on the service call. The locksmith did show up on the following Monday and did the work satisfactorily.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a home and I had contacted this company to come in and change all of the locks and scheduled them to do the work the day after we closed.

+ -1 moreEVERYONE I DEALT WITH WAS COURTEOUS, VERY ACCOMMODATING WITH MY SCHEDULE, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT LOCKS. STEVE WAS ESPECIALLY HELPFUL AND RESPECTFUL ABOUT BEING IN OUR HOME.
Description of Work: OUR FRONT DOOR LOCK WAS BROKEN AND USELESS. BECAUSE IT WAS QUITE OLD, STEVE HAD TO GO BACK TO THE SHOP AND SEARCH FOR A PARTICULAR PIECE TO FIT MY HANDLE. IF HE HAD NOT FOUND ONE, WE WOULD HAVE HAD A BIG PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS CUT IN AN OVAL FOR AN OLD HANDLE, AND NEW HANDLES FIT ONLY CIRCULAR HOLES. STEVE FOUND IT WITHIN A DAY, CAME RIGHT BACK OUT AT MY CONVENIENCE AND FIXED THE OLD UNIT--SAVING US A HUGE HEADACHE AND A SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE. HE WAS INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND GAVE ME REASON TO TRUST HIM COMPLETELY. I WISH EVERYONE WORKED THE WAY HE DOES!

+ -1 moreHE LEFT WITH THE KEYS AFTER CHANGING THE LOCK AND WOULD NOT RETURN THEM AND ATTITUDE WAS EXTREMELY TERRIBLE WHEN I CALLED BACK. HE WOULDN'T BRING THE KEY BACK THE NEXT AFTERNOON AT WORK. I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE LOCKS NOW.
