They came out to do the first call and needed to order a part. The part came in but didn't fix the problem so they ordered another part. Once the parts came in they repaired the washer and it is now working!! They were very professional and did everything they could to make my experience a good one. I will use this company again if I have any other appliance problems.

I had called another provider who had an A rating but they did not work on LG machines and referred me to Capital City who had a B rating. Mike was prompt to arrive and quick to finish the service giving me additional advice about how to keep my machine in good working order and how to eliminate the soap residue that could cause problems in the future. I don't know why they were previously rated a B but I would give them an A+

We have had an ongoing problem with the ice maker in our refrigerator. As I have continued to try to get the ice maker repaired, I have been told that this particular model has a reputation for being problematic and difficult to work on. We have an extended warranty on the refrigerator, and when I tried to get it repaired under warranty the technician that was sent out was very distraught when he learned of the type of ice maker in our system. The warranty repair was eventually declined by the warranty company, and I was told by the warranty company that the decision was based on the grounds that the list of parts requested by the technician was too extensive, and that the problem must be due to a "manufacturer defect". When I called the manufacturer to inquire about this I was told that there is no defect, and that they could offer no help with the repair. I was therefore put in a position of having to seek out repair of our ice maker outside of the warranty. I consulted Angie's List and found Economic Appliance Services. When I called and spoke with Ron, he was very courteous and understanding. He explained that they had worked on a number of that type of ice maker, and he felt confident that they could help. He was very thorough and up front, and explained a number of options \ remedies that might apply in our case, including expected costs. Ron then scheduled an appointment for us the next business day. Mike, the technician, called ahead of time and arrived promptly. He was extremely courteous and professional. He quickly disassembled the ice maker, and in short order found a loose connection in one of the wires in the system. After repairing that, he put the ice maker through a number of diagnostic tests, all of which succeeded. Mike explained that our ice maker is in fact quite complex compared to others, and that it may or may not require additional work in the future. Like Ron, Mike was very up front and honest, and explained that if the ice maker did require additional work he felt confident and comfortable with doing what was needed. We basically went from an ice maker that did not function at all and an expected repair bill of hundreds of dollars to get it working again, to a quick, courteous repair visit of approximately one hour, a working ice maker, for a very acceptable amount. Economic Appliance Services has definitely found a new customer in us!
Description of Work: Successfully repaired our ice maker, which is a model that a previous repair company essentially would not touch!

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the work on the fridge. I would prefer to have a 2 hour window vs. "We'll be there between 8 am and 1 PM". Seems like they should have a better way to estimate or schedule. The office could use a little better technology - seems like everything is still being done on paper vs. computerized. The tech did a great job overall.

I had read some of these bad reviews and was skeptical that they would do a good job. Well, they were wonderful and I would have them again. Donny was the fellow who came out on September 17, 2013 to find out what the problem was. Water was found to be puddling under the machine. He quickly assessed the problem and said we needed to replace the bearing shaft. Our washer had been rather noisy but the information manual said that it may not sound as previous washers we'd had. Turns out it was noisy because it needed repair. . It took the two men just over an hour to an hour and a half and they replaced the stainless tub and bearing shaft. They cleaned up after themselves and had us back in business. I was told when Donny came on 9/17 that I could still use my washer but to realize I needed to put towels down to absorb any leaks. I did this for the two weeks until the parts were in and they could come to do the repair. Since I only wash twice a week or so, this wasn't a problem for me at all. I was glad I could still use it. My machine is a 2007 Kenmore Elite Oasis washer. It works so much better now and spins the clothes so they are not as wet going into the dryer. Very pleased with this repair! And especially with Economic Appliance!
Description of Work: We had a home warranty for the home we purchased in Powell this past summer. When the washing machine began to leak we contacted the home warranty people. They had Economic Appliance come to diagnose the problem. Donny was wonderful. He knew his stuff and when he returned with another fellow, they fixed our washer.

It went very well thanks to Melinda in the office that scheduled the service. She kept in constant contact with us on when the needed parts would be delivered and when the repair could be made. They were performing service under a warranty agreement we had with Sears. Sears recommended them as they stated their technicians were too busy. Melinda was able to get us a technician out about a week earlier than Sears could. Melinda bent over backwards to help us get our washing machine working again. She displayed outstanding customer service for us. They made the repair and it checked out OK and the technician left. Shortly after the technician left, we tried to use it and it didn't work. We called and within 2 hours the owner was out to reset something and it's been working fine ever since. For us they really stood behind their service and we really appreciated the; support, concern and respect they showed us. I will use them in the future for other appliance service.

The appointment was set up for Thursday 8-1. At 12:30, I hadn't heard from them, so I called and was told they were running behind and we could reschedule for Monday. I would be called first thing and the lady apologized. Monday I rushed around making sure I was home at 8:00 when I was supposed to be called. I got the call they were coming at 10:30. There was one guy who came and looked at the dryer. I explained the about the sensor. He said the senor almost never went out. He turned on the dryer for a few minutes and looked for Samsung bulletins on his phone. He told me again the senor almost never goes out, but if I wanted to replace it, he would for $150.00. I politely refused. The technician obviously didn't know what was wrong with the dryer and was unwilling to do the work it would take to find out. Then, for the 15-30 minutes he was in my house, he charged me a fee of $69.95! I would not use this service again and would encourage others not to use them either. They obviously have a bad sense of customer service.
Description of Work: My Samsung dryer is no longer drying completely on the sensor setting. I called asking the senor be checked.

It is working fine ever since. We had used 'Economic Appliance Svc', before as well when they had diagnosed our problem on the phone. We were reluctant to have this washer repaired because it was 19 years old and I only wanted this washer to be used for three more weeks, but he told me to have the washer repaired then buy a new one. It was well worth the money we spent to have it repaired.
Description of Work: 'Economic Appliance Svc' repaired our washer. The washer was draining and there was a funny sound coming from it, when it stopped all of a sudden. It was something very, a piece of cloth had got stuck into the pump and he just pulled the cloth out of the pump and that was it. There was no repair work done and he did not replace any part either. He had to open up the washer and take the pump out and found the cloth.

Economic Appliance has come to my house 3 times in the last 12 months to investigate a bad smell coming from my Whirlpool gas dryer. Each time they sent a different technician. Each time they were unable to find a cause. They guessed that the smell must be coming from burning lint even though upon opening the bottom of the dryer and investigating the vent and lint screen they could find almost no lint accumulation. In fact, the second technician told me this was the cleanest dryer he had aver seen! After the second visit I installed a new vent at great expense because the technician suggested that MAYBE there was a small hole in the vent. In January 2013 I pulled a load of towels out of the dryer and they stunk to high heaven. The problem was back! Once again I called Economic and explained that the problem was back. They sent yet another technician who opened the bottom of the dryer, could not find a problem but agreed to vacuum when I offered to get one for him. He then put some shiny duct tape somewhere in the back and pronounced it fixed, but offered to knock $20 off the service fee since they never really diagnosed the problem. As he was about to leave I gave him a towel to smell. He said that was not the smell of burning lint, it was the smell of kerosene. I assure him the towels had never come in contact with kerosene. He suggested I call the gas company because maybe I had a gas leak?! Seemed unlikely, but I called the gas company and they sent a technician immediately. The gas technician could not find any evidence of a gas leak, but he noticed that I was having painting done in another room in the house (the smell was quite strong and there were painters coming and going past the laundry room!). I pointed out to him that each time that I have had this problem I was having painting done in my house, but I could not see any direct relationship to the actual dryer. He suggested I call Whirlpool which I did as soon as he left. I called their troubleshooting hot line and then went directly to the option for "bad smells from the dryer". The first suggestion asked if It was a gas dryer and then proceeded to explain that if you are painting or varnishing while running the gas dryer the fumes can be sucked into the dryer and then be absorbed by the clothes in the dryer!!!! So I am giving Economic Appliance an F because I think that professional appliance repair people should be aware of this issue. Each time someone came to my house the house was being painted and the smell was quite strong and yet NO ONE made the conn

Called Economic Appliance based on reviews in Angie's list to replace the control board to our oven. After one month and three visits, the oven is still not repaired. My initial appoint made in the first week in January and technician came out and tested the oven and confirmed that a new control board was needed. He proceeded to write down the model and serial numbers and told would order replacement board. The control board came within a week or so and when Economic Appliance came to install, it's not the right board. A third visit with another new board and a new technician, but the story is the same. The control board is the same as the initial replacement and does not fit. The technician spends some time taking a closer look, finally removing the non-functioning control board, and finds that the number is wrong, a "3" instead of a "5". A fourth appointment is scheduled for installation. This time I don't answer my phone right away (showering), but call back in less than 20 minutes, but they tell me that the technician is gone from my area and I need to reschedule. It is preposterous that they give a 5 hour window of arrival (8-1) with a 30 minute phone call, but think it is acceptable to cancel even if you call back within the 30 minute window. Terrible customer service, especially as I have already taken 4 days off from work due to a mistake THEIR technician made initially. I will never use them again. I expect better service from a company whose mistakes led to repeated visits.

The service was terrible. The service men who came in were extremely nice and very easy to get along with. They had to come out six different times. The first time they had to check if there was a leak. Previous to them coming out we had the gas company come out and they found a leak from two burners. The man could only find a leak on one burner and only order parts to repair one.. The second time he came out said it was a two person job and found a second leak. This was the same leak that the gas company found and we already told him about. They came out again to install the parts but it did not fix the problem. They then had to order new parts. By the fifth time, the part was not in great shape and he did not want to make the repair because the tube was damaged. The sixth time a new person came and still installed the damaged tube. It seemed to have fixed the problem but I am not happy with their service..

At 8 AM on Monday, Janurary 7, I contacted Jake from Economic Appliance service and described my refrigerator problem as the unit was not cooling at all while we could still hear the fan and motor running. I had suggested that perhaps the compressor or something regulating the compressor may need repaired or replaced. He listened to my concerns and said he would probably get to me late in the day, but if not I'd be his firs call in the morning. I didn't hear back from him by 6 PM, so I figured I would follow up Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, and 8 AM, I called Jake again to inquire about my service call. He apologized for not calling me back on Monday, but said he ran late anyway. He told me that someone would be at my home by 9 AM. A serviceman showed up at 11 AM. He looked at the refrigerator, and hooked up some diagnostic equipment to diagnose the problem. After 10 minutes, he gave me the part number that I would need and said he could order it or I could order it on line. I placed the order. As he started to fix a jammed water dispenser in the door, a spring popped out. He called a General Electric technician help line to figure out how to replace the spring. While chatting with the GE tech, I noticed that he was hooking the diagnostic tool back up to the unit. Long story short, he misdiagnosed the problem. Now, he tells me that the problem is the compressor and an inverter which will be about $975 to repair. I asked him when it could be completed, and he informed me that he doesn't work on compressors. I was upset that an unqualified service man was sent out on my job. I called for Jake, and was told that he wouldn't take my call until the next morning. He called me at 9 AM the next day. When I asked him why he didn't send someone qualified, he said that he sent someone to diagnose only. I ended up calling GE directly. They sent out a repairman the next day. He fixed my refrigerator for $310. As it turned out, it was a part that Economic didn't even mention. Poor service, doesn't communicate very well. They send someone to diagnose your problem, but aren't timely about getting the repair complete.

What a disappointment. The technician arrived but said he couldn't give an estimate because the unit had to moved to access the back of the unit and he doesn't move appliances to work on them. Let me repeat that - The appliance repair man doesn't move appliances to repair them!! This is so ridiculous I can still hardly believe it. He then left with no estimate and a stuck me with a bill for $64 - service call fee!! I called afterward and spoke with the manger - Brenda. I explained how outrageous this was...how does an appliance repair man fix appliances without having to move them sometimes? Long conversation short- I offered to split the difference to $32 for the service call (where the technician did no work). She refused and threatened to turn me over to collections and ruin my credit if I didn't pay. Good luck with this company if you ignore my warning...and make sure you move your appliance for them - they won't touch it!

When the refrigerator started making noises and it became clear I needed it looked at by a professional, I checked Angie's list (as always) and selected Economic Appliance Service based on previous ratings. I called on Tuesday and had and appointment for Thursday morning. The only negative comment I could make about my experience was that by 1:00 p.m. I had not seen or heard from the repairman and had to call Economic to confirm that I was still on the schedule. I was informed the tech was running late which really wasn't an issue for me under the circumstances but a call would have been appreciated. Once he arrived, however, he went straight to work, found the problem and corrected it within minutes. There was the secondary problem of a small amount of water coming from somewhere but a thorough search and testing revealed nothing. We simply couldn't find it at the time. He said not to worry and that if the problem presented itself within 30 days, he would come back out at no additional charge. Within a few days, the problem re-occurred and Donny was back out the next day and on time. Once again, tests and examinations were performed and Donny was able to finally see where the water was coming from. As before, he was in and out in 10 minutes and true to his word, at no additional charge. For the first visit, I paid only the service call of $64.00. I will definitely use Economic in the future and will recommend them to all of my friends.
Description of Work: The first visit out was to diagnose and correct an intermittent rattling in my Kitchenaid refrigertor. The second trip (the following week) was to locate and repair a water leak somewhere within the unit. The first problem turned out to be a piece of cardboard that had come loose under the refrigerator and was making contact with the fan, setting up the rattling noise. The second problem took some time to present itself again as it too was intermittent. I'm truly not sure exactly what the problem was but a friend of mine was watching the proceedings and as soon as the problem was located, both he and the tech simultaneously exclaimed "THERE IT IS!". The tech, Donny, simply said "I'll have this fixed in a second" and he did. When I praised his good work, he simply and modestly said "It's what I do." Though neither issue was earthshattering, I had no idea what was going on so his services, though simple, were invaluable to me.

Frigidaire gave me their information because they were able to do warranty work. I sent an e-mail through their web-site last week and heard nothing back. When I called this morning (several days later) to schedule the repair, they said they could not do it because they were under "contract negotiations." I would have appreciated a response to my e-mail either by phone or e-mail letting me know this, instead I waited around wasting several days.

My two-year-old Kenmore front-load washer stopped working. It was under warranty, so Sears assigned Economic Appliance to do the repair. While I found Sears to be very disappointing to work with, the folks at Economic Appliance were professional, friendly, responsive, and capable. The technician showed up on time (called first as well), quickly assessed the problem, and fixed it in about 10 minutes. The only problem was that Sears made me wait a week for the service--even after I explained the criticality of the situation I was in: at home recovering from surgery with no way to tend to laundry. I recommend Economic Appliance.

My washer suddenly stopped draining in the middle of the rinse cycle and was making a buzzing noise. The man who answered the phone when I called was able to give me an approximate estimate, based on my description. My washer is nearly 20 years old and I needed to decide whether it was even worth the cost of a service call or if I should just get a new washer. The man on the phone said it sounded like the pump and replacing that would be much less expensive than a new washer. I decided to risk the cost of a service call and the man on the phone was exactly right - the pump was the problem; however, it didn't need replaced - something had gotten caught in the pump! The serviceman was able to pull the offending cloth out of the pump and the washer worked fine again. He also told me that my washer was like new inside, no rust, etc. and that my 20 year old washer is better than what is being made today. He advised me to keep right on using it. I would highly recommend this company and would call them again in a heartbeat!

Really GREAT experience overall. From the understanding receptionist, to the quick service, and the very nice and professional repairman. I think that is outstanding when they can get someone out the very next day for you, and the official "GE" repair people said they could not do it before this coming Wed. 11-28-2012, and I was quoted a less expensive service call price as well! The repairman was terrific, my husband was grateful it was a small part to replace. The repairman replaced the broken part, was just very nice, and very professional, if we ever need service again, we will call them! Just fyi I am an insulin depend. diabetic and need a working frig. for my two kinds of insulin.
