Ecohouse Solar

Ecohouse installed our 10.8 KW solar electric system in January 2021. We are pleased with the results. We enjoyed working with Michael Brennan as he explained the process, answered all our questions, and followed up when the installation work was completed. The workforce personnel did first-class quality work and were polite and considerate. (I am retired from industrial maintenance supervision and engineering, thus I'm qualified to make the assessment of the workmanship quality.) The electrical inspector made positive comments about this job. Various background requirements must be taken care of such as building permit, engineering assessment of roof load, and communication with the electric power utility. Ecohouse did all of this without my involvement and the process was smooth. In the 2½ months since our system went on-line it is performing well. I definitely recommend Ecohouse.

Ecohouse Solar installed our 8.4 kW system in July of 2022 which included a new electrical service panel. Mike Hopper was excellent to work with and answered all of our (many) questions. He helped us design the best system with the right panels for us, at a great price. After signing the contract, Mike continued to keep us informed of all activities. Both the local and utility permitting/inspections were handled with little to no effort from us. All the installers and electricians were courteous and professional. They worked quickly without disrupting the yard or interior of the house. I would gladly recommend Ecohouse for anyone considering solar.

We are customers of a defunct solar company and were having issues with our inverter. EcoHouse was great and immediately took action to call the company and get it fixed. Jeffrey was a great representative of the company and did great work to get us back up and running. I highly recommend using them and will call in the future if we find ourselves in need again.

Installed October 2023 My installation a AC CEC 14.610 KW consisted of 40 – 400 watt solar panel, 40 IQ8M Enphase micro inverters and 4 – Enphase Encharge 10T 10.5 kWh batteries along with Enphase IQ System controller 2 and 2 -Enphase IQ Combiners. Ecohouse Solar and their entire engineering design, installation and follow up team are first rate. Let me just take a moment to explain how and why I give Ecohouse a 5 star rating. I am a retired facilities engineer and I worked for Cooper Energy Services for 32 years. That’s sets the stage for why I am so pleased with Ecohouse. I thought about installing a solar set up for the past few years and when I decided to move forward I contacted several other installers and considering my engineering background I wanted to know both the engineering details of the product and equally I felt it extremely important that I could pick a firm with a good track record. In my research I found Ecohouse stood out as the best company I could pick and I believed would be the most reliable in the long run too. Let me introduce you to Mike Hooper the project manager, Mike was exceptional in every way to work with. Anytime I needed something I got answers quickly and in the detail I wanted. I also want to introduce you to Sean McGeehan construction manager. Both Mike and Sean were always ready to accept my call and get answers to my questions ASAP and as a retired facility engineer my work experience carried forward to be a demanding task master. I can’t think of any way to tell you how pleased I am with my interface with both Mike and Sean other than it was just AWESOME. Additionally I want to tell you about the team who installed the panels, the control system, the batteries and commissioning the system. The installation took several weeks so I got to know the team members really well and they all were a great bunch of guys. They all were friendly, easy to communicate with and ready to stop as address any issues that I wanted to better understand, question or possibly change.

Back in March we had Ecohouse Solar install 34 Enphase Energy IQ8 plus Micro Inverters (11.24 KW system) and Wire and Install a 220V NEMA 14-50 Receptacle for future EV. Mike Hopper was knowledgeable and straight forward with everything from start to finish answering all our questions. The install crew was extremely professional and friendly. There was no mess once the installation was complete. So happy we pulled the trigger when we did with the AEP increase. We've been running a surplus since April. If you are on the fence or just thinking about solar panels give them a call. You will be happy you did.

I contacted Kevin for an estimate for energy audit, but he was so helpful to refer to use other provider because it will cost less for me. He said as my house uses both gas for heating it will be cheap if I go with Columbia Gas energy audit provided by them. I am happy that Kevin was very honest to give his suggestion and help customers in a way it costs less for them. In future definitely I want to use his services offered by him.

It went great! Kevin provided, very well, all services and materials agreed upon in a timely fashion and with knowledge and professionalism. We're very happy with his work, the work of the subcontractors he used for portions of the job, and with the results!

We have an all-electric house. We are very happy with it. Kevin Eigel is our contact. He is very competent, knowledgeable, and experienced. He has done a lot of energy audits, and one for us. We are going to be on the green energy solar tour in October for Ohio.

I called Ecohouse and spoke to Kevin about a home energy audit after receiving an negative energy usage report from our electric provider. The report indicated that our usage was higher than other homes in our neighborhood, which was a surprise since our family implemented energy saving measures some time ago. I called AEP and they suggested I contact a local contractor to investigate the problem. They provided several names and I selected Ecohouse due to the company's excellent ratings on Angie's List. After speaking with Kevin, I realized that our family's energy usage was average for the size of our home and that the data provided by the electric company was inaccurate. All the recommendations Kevin provided had already been implemented in our home. I did some additional research after our phone call and validated that the energy usage was in-line with similar sized homes and also confirmed that none of our appliances were malfunctioning. I didn't need to schedule the energy audit after all. I appreciate Kevin's honesty in providing his unbiased opinion even when it meant his services were not needed. It's hard to find service providers with such integrity. I would definitely use Ecohouse in the future and would recommend this company to others due to Kevin's professionalism and candor.

I got an immediate response from Kevin after emailing him inquiring about and energy audit. He saved me a lot of money by providing me with information about a program that columbia gas runs. Very honest and helpful. Would definitely use his company (if ever need solar paneling even though he didn't do our energy audit).

Kevin was great to work with. He showed up right on time, walked me through the service and began the energy audit. As he was checking things he was giving me ideas on how to make the house more efficient, with details on where I could purchase items (such as a better vent for dryer, LED cannister bulbs, etc). He also was able to find some huge sources of heat loss that will probably pay for the cost of his services since we are going into the cold season now. He is very knowledgeable and professional and I highly recommend his company.

Spoke to Ecohouse rep via email and he said that a program run by Columbus Gas would be a great fit for my house (1955 Ranch in Hilliard). He was a true professional in doing this for me. I was not able to get Ecohouse as my energy auditor from the Columbia Gas program but everything went very well.

Kevin is great to work with - very professional. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and to put his results into context. The only regret I have is that we didn't have him come in and evaluate the house *before* we starting rehabbing it - we would have handled some insulation situations differently. I think the most useful thing about Kevin's work was that he gave us an objective, realistic understanding of how to improve our house's efficiency. We have had all sorts of salespeople in our house, each touting their product (from windows to doors to insulation) as THE single most important thing to improving efficiency. Since Kevin doesn't sell those things, he could tell us honestly that while we would see some return from our dollar by installing $20,000 worth of new windows, it would be minimal as compared to spending a fraction of that cost on base weather-stripping and additional insulation and leak sealing (most of which we can do ourselves). I highly recommend this service - given our gas and electric bills, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 100% return on our $450 investment in his services in the first winter alone.

It was great. He educated me about energy efficiency as he did the testing and gave me lots of tips that I could implement as we talked. I later got a detailed analysis of his findings and a list of recommended improvements in their order of cost effectiveness which made it easy to plan over time.
