Downey Clean Carpet Cleaning

Matt, their technician, was great. One of our puppies had just loosened the carpet off one of the steps. He had a stapler and anchored it down for me. Our carpets looked absolutely fabulous when he was down. I would definitely use Downey again & ask for Matt to clean them.

Things went alright. They did miss a few things so we had to call them back out. They responded very fast when we had a issue with the initial work.

Fair rating because the stairs were not done correctly leaving the shag carpet nap on the edge of the stairs flat. It was not flat prior. I still can't get it to sit back up after multiple times vacuuming. The couch cushion (one long piece) was only cleaned on one side. Its a high end sofa and in good shape because I flip it regularly. Now only one side is clean. The man chatted about personal life (TMI) and I didnt find that professional. The fragrance used didn't last more than a couple of weeks.

The technician was very friendly and very knowledgeable, and he took a personal interest in the work. I only used them twice so far but I'm about to use them again because I'm really happy with what they provided me in the past.

They were very thorough and offered advice on how to handle pet issues and Oriental rug.

Stains just came right back. Showed up 45 min late....guy did not even apologize.

I have used other good carpet cleaning companies in the past, but I thought I would give Downey a try due to their amazing longevity in the business, and the huge number of positive reviews on Angies List. My first contact was with a gentleman over the phone who was very professional. I purchased their Angies List special on line and was contacted first thing the very next morning. They are very responsive and pricing very attractive. The technician, Nathan, showed up on time and was quite professional as well as friendly. The reason I assigned a "C" for quality is that although the carpet looks pretty good, I question how clean it really is, since the tech shared with me that he was having big problems with the water equipment in his van, which had apparently been an ongoing problem for him. So I question if clean water was being used. Also, a dining room rug was not done as he forgot about it. By the time I reminded him, he had already repacked his hoses and equipment, so I told him to forget about it and he adjusted the quote. Bottom line, I think this is probably a very good, reputable company, but my experience was very average. There are other highly-rated companies who I will try in the future.

They came and cleaned the carpets. They moved nothing. A week later I had to move a piece of carpet that I have at the bottom of the stairs and it was filthy underneath it. I had then moved a chair and it was filthy as well. My furniture is all on sliders so it is very very easy to move but the did not move and clean under any of it.

I had some trouble with Downey Clean Carpet Cleaning. I've always had Downey Clean Carpet Cleaning for years but I got kind of upset with them. I'd say they always worked good. I was always happy with them, with the person that came out. I don't know what could they have done to make the experience better for me but I won't have them back. What happened was, I had a coffee table with a glass cover over it. I've always told them not to move that table when they clean but I found the man that came out did move it, and I didn't say anything until after they left. That evening, while I was sitting, I saw this little spot on my glass, it was a dirty, funny black spot, I don't know. I touched it, and the glass just split, you know, they had to split like a crack all the way down on the glass. It wasn't there, I mean, they apparently had hit the table with this machine enough to do a little spot there. It wasn't cracked when he left but when I touched that, it made the crack gone way across. I told them about that. But when I had the carpet cleaned, the next day they always call to see how I liked the job and everything. But anyway, I called and told them the problem. There was a snow on the ground, it was on November, winter day, and he came out and I thought they would send somebody other than the guy that cleaned it. I thought that they'd send somebody from the office out or call me about it. He came it and said "What was wrong?", and I showed it to him. "Oh I didn't do that, I didn't do that", I tried to explain to him what happened about the crack and he got really angry with me. He just went out and left in a hurry and they never called me back and I know I probably should've called back and complain but I didn't.

Did a great job. Work was completed quickly and done well.

Technician complained the entire time about moving furniture and about the fact that I was making him late because his wife booked a plumber for 3:30. I was not told that moving furniture was NOT part of the deal. Maybe I didn't read the fine print. I am disabled and facing a shoulder replacement surgery in a couple of weeks. I moved a lot of things, but couldn't move everything. There were a couple of areas where stains persisted. When he left he said I could request a "reclean" But I don't think I could go through all that again any time soon,

It turned out just okay. They came out a little bit longer than that. I had to contact them. The only thing that stood out to me was when he went to seal the tiles, his sealing apparatus was leaking. He said he would not be able to seal the tile because of that and he gave me a credit. I had to insist that they seal it because that was the reason I wanted the job done. He did seal it by hand. They were on time.

Scheduled immediately to accommodate our need; spots treated carefully. Carpeting looks great. Technician was pleasant and very professional.

I will never ever call them again. I had grout cleaned probably about three weeks ago. They cleaned my grout fine. I had them scheduled the next week to come and clean an area rug. They were going to pick it up and take it. They were coming the following week and I was going to have them clean my carpeting and my upholstery. I called three times to confirm because I was having guests and the timing was very tight because I wanted everything done before my guests arrived. Three times I called to confirm and I'm waiting here and they never came and picked up the rug. I called them and their response was, "Oh, we missed you." Nothing was said about, "When could we come out and pick it up at your convenience," nothing was said about, "how can we make this better for you?" All I got was, "Sorry, I forgot to schedule you." I never heard from the company except for one poor woman who wrote me to apologize. She did mention that they were pointing fingers at each other. No management ever called me to apologize. I canceled all further cleaning and I would never recommend them, nor would I use them again. I've had Downey Clean out here before. I'm a huge user of Angie's List. I feel like if someone is on Angie's List and they're graded well, they have proven themselves. I think probably that is just a mistake on my part. So I had purchased a big deal for my grout. I've had my grout and tile cleaned before and it was by somebody else previously. The guy did an okay job. I probably would never have them come back out and do my tile and grout. I made that decision before I went ahead and made the other scheduling. He showed up when he said he would show up, he did an okay job. But, it wasn't as good of a job as I had someone do a couple of years ago. But I would not have called and made a fuss about that because it was a lot better, he did a nice job, he was okay. I wouldn't go to make a fuss about that or ding them on that or do anything about that. But they never showed up after three times of getting everything in line because it was so important for me to have everything done. I was having guests and I wanted my rugs picked up and taken somewhere to be cleaned. Things happen, but when people do not take responsibility, when people aren't customer service driven, when people do not care that you're inconvenienced or when it's just, "sorry," then that is not acceptable to me. There is too many other businesses to use. I would just never ever recommend them or use them again.

Did not like because of time slot--8:30 to 5:00. But the technician did an excellent job--very pleasant, helpful hints.

EVERY stain was removed, the service was punctual and efficient and the gentleman completing the job was nothing less than professional. I have used Downey for quite a number of years and will hire them again in the future.

They showed up very late the guy did call and say he was going to be late but it was like three hours late something like that the machine that he was using leaked and so my carpets were soaking wet when he was done but other than that the guy worked quickly feel like he was trying to do a good job but like I said the equipment the thing was leaking and I told him I said you know that's leaking and he said yeah this isn't my equipment and I take better care of my equipment but he kept on going and my carpets were soak, I probably wouldn't advise using them, One thing the guy told me was that the girl that schedule him had him going South of Columbus North of Columbus, East of Columbus West of Columbus instead of just like scheduling him so he had driving so much driving time involve and it seem quiet the person who schedule them would schedule the appointments so that he's just going in a line are something because I think that was the issue was part of the issue was that the scheduler had him bouncing all over town and that's why he was so late.
