Micah arranged for one of his crew to mow our lawn before we even selected his company as our provider. He knew it was getting overgrown and we didn't have anyone lined up yet. When we did select Dean Landscaping, we got off to a rocky start. Micah had promised someone knowledgeable and capable of pruning beyond the normal "ball" or "hedge" shape. He took a long time to deliver on that, and then the person had none of the qualities we were seeking. We had some words with Micah about this, and he was probably just as unhappy as we were. When we finally acknowledged that we are "picky" and we needed to search further for an expert in that area, we became more satisfied to keep Dean Landscaping for our mowing and edging only. Micah has a nice crew of college students who have an excellent work ethic and are pleasant to be around. They do a great job with the mowing and edging, and clean up our property very well before leaving. They are very dependable. At this point, we definitely plan to continue to use Dean Landscaping for our future lawn maintenance. The only criticism now is that we have an irrigation system that should not be run the day before or the day of mowing. Sometimes the day is changed and we have one area that tends to flood and then is too wet to mow. Advance notice of a route change would be helpful to them and to us. This has not been a problem the last few weeks, so maybe there aren't any issues remaining. Bottom line is that we are satisfied with the job they are doing and will continue to use them. Would recommend them to others. We rated them an "A" based on lawn care only, but others may also find them perfectly suitable for bed maintenance as well.

We hired Micah to completely redo our front landscaping, saving some of the original plants and moving them to a better location. He works with another fellow (Jim) who designed the landscape layout with our input. After some back and forth as to what plants would be used, we gave the go-ahead. There were significant delays between that and the actual landscaping, due in part to the business of the season; Micah addressed our concerns about responsiveness and the crew finally got the landscaping complete. There were some issues with it, such as a crooked tree and a trio of plants that died, that Micah immediately addressed. We'd originally requested a stone border around the landscaping that took quite a few conversations to get going and corrected once installed. The landscaping crew's attention to detail was not keen and Micah had to come back out to fill in holes with dirt, add border to an area that been forgotten, and recover large bare spots with more mulch. In the end, the plants weathered the hottest month on record and still look good, the landscaping looks great and matches our expectations. Additionally, we wanted our small concrete front stoop improved and an old concrete slab on the crooked ground replaced. After several ideas were tossed around, we decided to have Micah lay a paver approach and do some finish work to the existing stoop. At the last minute, we changed our minds and decided to have him completely repour the concrete stoop. It took quite awhile for him to find someone to do this kind of work, there were a few emails asking if we'd been forgotten, and the crew didn't do the best job on the concrete work, but to Micah's credit he was patient with our hasty change in plans and the result looks welcoming. We will need to do significant clean up work to the stoop as there is concrete on the brick and the plants, but it's a vast improvement to the old stoop. I chose an overall grade of "A" despite numerous communication issues and several problems along the way because Micah remained professional, compensated us for long waits and issues, and uses quality plants and materials.

Their price is slightly but I am satisfied with their service.

Always a pleasure to work with Micah Dean and Dean Landscape! Very accommodating to my schedule. They have an excellent staff; they are punctual, stay on task, are polite and customer focused. We found that Micah Dean is ALWAYS available to the customer, He responds promptly to phone calls or questions. We would not consider using anyone else for our yard work. Dean Landscaping took out a very large tree during the winter and we were amazed how neat the clean up was. Nothing damaged .... perfect!

Micah was quick to respond to our call for an estimate. His workers did a good job on the walkway and we are very pleased with the results. We have received many compliments on the walkway which is a testament to their work.

Mica was prompt, spent plenty of time discussing options and recommended what he felt would be the best solution. He then provided the estimate in a contract. We talked through options to reduce the cost (and overall scope of the work) and how it would support a long-term solution to maintaining our house. Unlike other folks that you may find under either "Landscaping" or "Excavation", Mica appears to understand how all of the peices tie together. I would highly recommend him.

I found Dean's Landscaping on Angie's List and contacted Micah via phone. I am new to the area and needed weekly lawn service. He knew the area well and was able to give me a quote over the phone and also provided an Angie's list discount. The first cut was done prior to me moving in and he called me to follow-up to see if the job was done to my satisfaction. It was perfect. They have been cutting my grass weekly since the end of July and I am very pleased with their work.

Micah was very professional and responsive. He walked through the yard with us and divided the project into several parts and provided separate estimates as we requested for our budgeting purpose. His crew started from the back yard. As it was so well done, we finally let him do the whole yard. We were not home when his crew was here, and really liked the new look of the yard when came back home and found that the work was done. Micah was also very nice to come back to attend to several details left undone when we pointed them out. His estimate was very reasonable, and for any extra charge, like using different colors of mulch, he'd communicate with you ahead to avoid unpleasant surprise. I'll definitely use him again, and recommend him to friends.

We have used Dean Landscaping at our old house to get it on the market and they really made our house look like a showpiece. We now live in a new house that needs a lot of work and recently had our yard torn up by a backhoe. We were able to get a large amount of free sod to replace what was torn up. I called Micah and told him what I had and within two hours he was here putting the sod down because he didn't want it to die. I really appreciate him squeezing us in with his other jobs. He truly takes pride in his reputation and it is well-deserved. These guys are awesome! If you need a landscaper, Dean Landscaping is the one for you!

Micah was easy to get a hold of and gave us an estimate over the phone. He mowed our lawn twice while we were out of town, and the place looked good when we got back. The final bill matched the estimate--couldn't be simpler. We were pleased with the service, especially since we used a different landscaping service (also well-rated on Angie's List) for a trip last year and they did not mow as scheduled so we came home to a jungle. We appreciate the good work of Dean Landscaping!

We had an extremely tall maple tree that was about 60 years old. The tree had begun to show signs of rot after being damaged when we added on a room and when the hurricane winds came through back in September of several years ago. The tree continued to weaken. Dean Landscaping came out (after giving an estimate) and took the tree down. While they did not come out as soon as we hoped (they had other jobs that took longer than expected - partly due to rain issues), they worked hard and carefully while here - in spite of very hot and humid weather conditions. The two who did most of the work worked well as a team! We were worried about damage being done to the house because of how big the tree was and how close it was to the house. But the crew was extremely careful about not damaging the house. We were very impressed with their work ethic and with their knowledge of what work was needed to complete a successful tree removal. We were also very pleased with their cleanup. We also asked them to leave behind the wood that could be used for firewood. Little did we know how much firewood we would end up with! Oodles of it!

They've done the best job of any lawncare company we've ever used when it comes to edging beds (a one-time task) and trimming around walkway stepping stones (periodically when mowing). They have managed to keep the lawn mowed through this rainny spring, missing only one very wet week. They were also conscientious about not mowing when our yard was too wet. They showed up, took one pass with the mower and evaluated the situation. The lawn was much too wet, so they left for that day and came back later in the week. I've recommended this company to a neighbor. Not sure whether he is using them.

We really liked those ideas and were looking forward to a proposal and implementation of the plan. We never heard from him again. We would try to use their services in the future...if they made the effort or showed interest in obtaining a new customer.

It went very, very well. Micah's crew dug down to discover a very large old stump and root system that had not been removed whenever the tree had been cut down (before we bought the house) After the stump was excavated, a stump grinder came in. The next day, one of Micah's crew came back and filled in the hole with soil, tamped it down, removed two small silver maples that were going to cause more problems down the road, and placed grass seed over the new portion of the lawn. All stump debris not ground up by the chipper was carted away, along with the small trees. We couldn't be more pleased. Not only was the problem easily discovered and solved, but Micah, his crew, and his subcontractor were all punctual, helpful, courteous, neat, and performed the work in a timely fashion.

The company owner has a degree in construction (concrete) and landscaping from O.S.U. When we had him out to talk about building a basketball court in our yard, although he had never built one before, he was very resourceful and had many good ideas. He told us exactly what he would do, and then he did it. We were very impressed with his professionalism, courtesy, and amazing work ethic. He told us repeatedly that he wanted to get everything perfect for us, and he did. After finishing the court, he gave us many good ideas on how to landscape around it. We'll definitely call him again when we're ready.

I am going to have him do some more weeding assuming that I know where he mulched. I wouldn?t know that until next year. While I was there he did everything that I wanted him to do. He was willing to satisfy the customer. He did an excellent job.

They were very respectful. They were really good and very reasonably priced. They were perfectionists too. They would not quit until the work was done right. They were very good at everything. They are coming out again next week.

First of all, the estimate given to us was extremely reasonable! When the company came out to do the work, it took them two days to complete it, which was also reasonable. They provided all the materials, and in fact, used some of the pavers we had previously put down, so we did not need to pay for materials we already had on hand. They were very meticulous about their work. If the pavers were not square, level, and stable, they took them up and started again. They did not settle for mediocre work. The myrtle was planted and looks very nice. The sod was laid and grass seed put down. The workers told us to be sure to water the plants and grass regularly. I think the most important thing, though, was their professional courtesy. They not only did extremely good work, but it was done in an extremely courteous manner. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good landscaper!
