Jim Adams was one of the tile installers recommended by a company we visited that sells tiles. When we called him for an estimate, he got back to us right away and set up an appointment to do the measurements. He was punctual for the initial appointment, and he patiently answered questions that we had about the job. He also gave us helpful suggestions. A couple days after doing the measurements, he sent us his estimate, which was very reasonable; in fact, it was the lowest estimate among those that we received. When it was time to do the actual job, he was again very punctual. He is very meticulous in his work, and we were completely satisfied with the final installation. He worked with us very well. We would definitely ask him to do other tile installation jobs that we might have in the future.
Description of Work: Jim Adams installed backsplash tile for our kitchen.

He is very good. He was very punctual and his estimate was much lower than my other estimates. The quality of his work was great. He is a great find. He had a designer as a reference that used him for 15 years and was very complimentary of him.
Description of Work: He did the kitchen backsplash.

We really enjoyed having Jim work on our shower. He is a very experienced craftsman, and very pleasant to work with. Jim was able to start the job as soon as we accepted his bid. He was always punctual, he kept his work area very neat and tidy, he covered all of our floors with tarps and he always cleaned up the area before he left each evening. And best of all, we just love the way the shower looks - just like we imagined it!
Description of Work: Installed final top layer (cement) of custom shower pan in Master Bath shower. Installed all tile on walls and floor. Design included glass mosaic tile in two bands around the walls. Size of shower is 5 x 6 ft. Price did not include tile, except for 12 tiles that had to be custom bullnosed. We got 3 estimates and Jim's was much more competitive than the other two.

Jim was unavailable to do my bathroom tile project at the time we were under construction, so I hired another man. In the end, I hired Jim to come back to "re-do" the shower, tile and fix mistakes that were made by the other contractor. His work is great and he truly understands the business. He is a gentle man and I was very satisfied with his work.
Description of Work: Jim removed the recently installed shower floor, made the necessary adjustments for proper drainage and retiled the floor. He removed some bathroom floor mosaic pieces that were not installed properly and reinstalled them. He made some adjustments to areas that had been botched by the original contractor so that they now look fine.

I requested a quote (one of three) from Custom Ceramics for my bathroom remodel project. I chose Custome Ceramics of Santa Fe, but he was tied up with another big project and could not do the work when I needed it done, so I went to the next installer. The second installer did a horrible job, took off and left me with uneven, sharp tiles on the floor, a shower floor that didnt drain properly and a baseboard that was installed but not grouted. I recontacted Jim and asked him to take a look and see if he could repair the damage. He promptly met with me, was honest about what he could do to remedy the project and gave me a time that he could work me in. Jim came to the house, repaired the shoddy work and charged me appropriately for his time and talent. He was easy to deal with and very honest. He made a horrible job look like it was supposed to look in the first place.
Description of Work: Because of a "botched job" by the previous installer, I contacted Jim to have my problem corrected. It meant completely retiling my shower floor, and removing and reinstalling decorative tiles on the bathroom floor. The amount spent included additional supplies.
