deceptive trade case against them.
Description of Work: We took an older computer in to be repaired. Knowing that it was old, we were interested in having a computer built and the existing hard drive contents moved to the new computer. When we got the computer back, it ran the same as the old one did. When my husband inquired about the slowness, the owner said that they did not build a "new" computer. For $500, they could only rebuild the old one. This was never communicated before hand. Less than 5 months later, the rebuilt computer died again. They are out of business now and we have no recourse. After opening the box, we could see that they had used substandard parts throughout. Some of the pieces had been superglued together. We should have pitched a fit after getting it back originally, but it was painfully obvious that the business was going under. They were never there! If these people ever try to open another store, AVOID AVOID AVOID! We'll probably file a consumer

IF I WERE YOU, I WOULDN'T EVEN GO NEAR HIS STORE. HE USED TO HAVE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, SO IF YOU SEE A COMPUTRADE AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION, MAKE SURE IT'S NOT THE SAME GUY.
Description of Work: I TOOK MY MACINTOSH THERE FOR REPAIR. WHEN I GOT IT BACK, IT WAS STILL BROKEN AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE CD PLAYER. I TOOK THE COMPUTER TO THE APPLE STORE, AND THEY OPENED IT AND SAID ALL THE SCREW HEADS WERE STRIPPED AND THE COMPUTER WAS ASSEMBED INCORRECTLY. THEREFORE, I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO PURCHASE NEW PARTS. ALL THIS SECOND REPAIR WOULD HAVE EXCEEDED THE VALUE OF THE COMPUTER. APPLE CALLED THE STORE OWNER/MECHANIC. IT TURNS OUT THAT HE HAD NO LICENSE TO TOUCH A MAC. WHEN WE WENT BACK TO COMPUTRADE, HE REFUSED TO GIVE OUR MONEY BACK FOR THE 'REPAIR' NOT EVEN SPEAKING OF REIMBURSING FOR THE DAMAGES. INSTEAD, HE INSERTED A SCREWDIRVER IN THE CD PLAYER, FORCED IT TO OPEN, AND ASKED US TO LEAVE. WHEN WE ASKED HIS CORPORATE OFFICE'S PHONE NUMBER, HE REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO US.
