Columbus Worthington Air

I got a quote from Worthington Air last summer. Delonte was unprofessional & apathetic. After only 2min of simply looking at my unit, he recommended a 2.5 ton unit and wrote up an estimate. The other co's I got quotes from spent 30min measuring & inspecting the unit & ductwork. Furthermore, the other co. (Care) I went with installed a 2 ton unit & explained I don't have the ductwork to support 2.5 tons & how that could cause issues later. Aside from that, the price was insane - almost $5k for the most basic, "bottom barrel" AC unit they offer. I did my research and got ~5 estimates; the next highest was still ~$1k less than Worthington Air. Laughable. Someone mentioned Worthington Air is the Walmart of HVAC companies in Columbus. They're large & can continue to throw out absurd prices b/c eventually someone (either with little knowledge on the matter or in a desperate situation) will bite. Hope helps. Be smart. performed scheduled service as expected.

I had a scheduled appointment for maintenance cleaning for early December. Prior to the appointment, the thermostat kept clicking off and on. The furnace would not stay on. I called and explained that I had a scheduled maintenance appointment and asked if someone could come out now to check out the thermostat and furnace. I also asked if the fall maintenance check could be done at the same time. I was told yes. My husband was home when the technician showed up. He said the technician had an attitude. He looked at the furnace and thermostat. He said the thermostat had a short and needed to be replaced. The only one he had on the truck cost $275. My husband called me to discuss. I then spoke with the tech about the thermostat. I asked about programming it and if he had one priced lower. He said he did not. I asked if the maintenance check was done. He stated we were not going to get a free cleaning. I had scheduled a cleaning and expected one to be done per my conversation with the office manager. I never asked for a free cleaning. The tech was very rude while speaking to me. I asked if there was a senior discount and was told 'no'. Their business page on Angie's shows there's a 5% discount. Their business page on Angie's list also states, "no travel charges". On my invoice there is a $84 trip charge. My husband told me that the tech kept saying that we needed a new furnace and that he could have someone give us a quote. He also kept trying to sell us a maintenance plan. He even had already listed it as a charge on the invoice. Overall, this was not a good experience.

Arrived on time. Discussed filter replacement. He said I could get the filters my furnace takes cheaper at Home Depot. I went ahead and bought one though because I didn’t figure I would remember to do it otherwise. He performed the maintenance as scheduled.

Arrived on time and completed replacement in the time estimated. Cleaned up after installation and departed my premise in the same condition as when they arrived. Three weeks of operation and not a single problem!

Drainage pipe was clogged. Associate did the work perfectly and professionally. I have no issue with that. My issue is that the $84 diagnosis/travel fee was not absorbed in the total cost of repair, or at least partially. Usually, the diagnosis fee gets applied to the cost of repair. I've seen that in the extreme majority of contractors. This is why I gave a B rating.

Two hours after I called, the technician was there, addressed the problem, and fixed it. Very happy with the speedy service.

The tech was tops, explained everything in detail, what it would cost and did an excellent job. I will recommend him to anybody and continue to use them.

Identified leak and replaced/repaired. Manufacturer warranty was handled, in my behalf.

I paid for a yearly contract with Columbus Worthington Air. They scheduled an appointment with me and then after I arranged my day to be here at home, they called to cancel. This is the second time they have done this to me. I will not use them again.

They always provide a superb job. I have been using them for years already and they always do a good job with my air condition.

They are always professional and easy to get along with. I appreciate them wearing their booties all the time.

I wish I would have done more research before, but I was desperate because my house was creeping up over 80 degrees and condensation was building up on my furnace unit. I didn't know who to go with so I used Home Depot to set up my appointment. Overall, the people were nice and prompt, but the cost is just outright criminal. It cost $100 to show up, the technician checked the coolant and said it was about a pound low, and that the coolant was $180 a pound (really!!, because if you look online it's less than $20 a pound for r-22 refrigerant). So he put the coolant in and we went inside to check the vents and sure enough it was cold. He then said lets go down and check the coil because there might be a leak. He did the check and said there is likely a leak but couldn't quite pinpoint the spot. He quoted the coil to be replaced at $2299 (can coils not be patched or repaired?). Anyways, we went back up stairs and I was expecting to pay $280 but then apparently it was $140 for him to go in my basement for 5 minutes and wave a beeping wand around my coil. All in all, the technician was at my house for 40 minutes, refilled my coolant, and it cost $420, still scratching my head.

I called Columbus Worthington Air at 7:20 PM on 7/24/2018 about our outside AC unit not working (84-HIGH, Pressure, Lockout 4H, on the thermostat). One of their expert technicians, Nathan Parker, called us back at 7:35 PM, and came to our house that same evening at 8:45 PM. He checked out our outside AC unit, (part of our AC and gas furnace system installed new by Columbus Worthington Air on 2/10/2014, and still under warranty, and also serviced by our Columbus Worthington Air semi-annual service agreement), and determined that the capacitor in the outside AC unit had failed. He then did an excellent and efficient job in repairing our outside AC unit by furnishing and installing a new turbo capacitor. He checked out the repaired AC unit and made sure that the entire system was working correctly. There was no charge for this work on 7/24/2018, as this equipment was covered by warranty and our Columbus Worthington Air semi-annual service agreement. Nathan Parker did an outstanding, timely, efficient, and complete job here. He and this company were very honest, professional, and have excellent customer service. It is very impressive that within two hours of our after-hours 7:20 PM call, Columbus Worthington Air and Nathan Parker had our AC system repaired and working great. We have used this company, including Nathan Parker, for many years for all of our AC/Furnace needs, and would most definitely use Columbus Worthington Air again.

I called Columbus Worthington Air at 8:15 PM on 4/29/2017 (a Saturday) about our gas furnace blower motor failing (Code 41 on the thermostat). On Monday, 5/1/2017, one of their expert technicians, Joshua, came to our house on time, checked out our AC and gas furnace system (installed new by Columbus Worthington Air on 2/10/2014, and still under warranty, and also serviced by our Columbus Worthington Air semi-annual service agreement), and determined that the control (circuit) board and module attached to the blower motor had failed. He did an excellent and efficient job in both securing and then installing, also on 5/1/2017, a new control (circuit) board and module. As the old blower motor would not work with this new equipment, Joshua came back the next day, 5/2/2017, and furnished and installed the correct new blower motor that worked. He checked out the repaired AC and gas furnace system and made sure that everything was working correctly. (Everything here has worked great ever since.) There was no charge for all of this work on 5/1/2017 and 5/2/2017, as all of this equipment was covered by warranty and our Columbus Worthington Air semi-annual service agreement. Joshua did an outstanding, efficient, and complete job here. He and this company were very honest, professional, and have excellent customer service. We have used this company for many years for all of our AC/Furnace needs, and would most definitely use Columbus Worthington Air again.

Very well. The guys worked most of the day in the rain, but they persisted. We were so impressed with their knowledge and professionalism that we canceled our service contract with the company that we had used for years and signed up with Columbus Worthington Air.

They were done even before the estimated time frame, cleaned up everything, explained how to change the new filters, care of both units, set the Nest thermostat and explained it's nuances. Great guys, and they didn't even make fun of the old unit they were replacing (installed in 1981)!!!!

great, they had a tech there in 1 hour. fixed bad capacitor, cleaned and checked system. I went ahead and bought maintenance plan.

They did a great job and I would use them again!

We have used this service provider for years, and we had a contract with the company for regular check and maintenance of our furnace. The people that you talk with on the phone were excellent, and Rob whom we worked with every time is very professional and a joy to work with.
