Purchased a service deal through Angie's List and set up the appointment last summer. The tech who came out was on time and courteous, even though there had been awful weather that entire day/week. He checked items inside and outside the home, did a quick tune up and cleaning and that was about it. The only issue I had with the visit came with the final assessment of our unit. Though it's no spring chicken, our central air unit has functioned well with only minor hiccups. During this visit, I was told the unit was "already done" and would need to be replaced. Any additional maintenance would be a minor bandage before it would need to be replaced so there was no use in doing anything further. I was skeptical, seeing as the unit was running and blowing cold air as we were having the conversation in my kitchen, so I opted to bring in a second opinion. We hired a different company to come out and give our system a look-through, and the result couldn't have been different. No leaks, no issues with the main unit, just a little low on charge. This tech loaded the unit up, estimated we had many years of use left (knock on wood) and that was that. I don't know what happened with the inspection from CWA, but it was interesting/concerning to have such different outcomes with such different monetary value involved ($90 vs. $4000+). I'm not going to make any type of judgement about the company as a whole based on this experience ( I would consider them again) but the clear hard sale at the end left a bad taste in my mouth.

Having recently moved into a new home we wanted to have the furnace fully inspected before the winter. They called when they were on their way, inspected everything, and gave a brief summary of their findings. All in all a positive experience.

They did job for reasonable price

The technician was prompt and dealt with the chaos well - we had just bought the house; we had a houseful of electricians and plumbers also on site, and the power to the furnace was unexpectedly turned off when the furnace technician arrived. He dealt with the problem gracefully and professionally, got things worked out with the rest of the crew, and got the furnace ticking along well.

We called Worthington Air because we were having problems with our furnace and it wasn't heating as well as it normally does. We were very concerned we would need to replace the furnace as it was well over 15 years old. Worthington Air responded quickly and were courteous on the phone. They came out the next business day, looked over our furnace and changed filters. After the tune-up, the furnace has been working perfectly. Additionally, they could have taken advantage and told us we needed to replace our furnace but they were honest with us. They told us the furnace would be good for possibly a few more years. If we ever need service for our furnace again regardless of repair or replacing it, we'll call Worthington Air. They've earned our future business.

They were punctual, professional and polite. They also recommended things that we were already doing to keep our systems functioning for the long term. They were very informative for someone who didn't know how to maintain their systems.

Purchased a special deal on Angies list for $60 furnace cleaning. Technician Todd arrived on time, performed the cleaning service and was very professional. Our furnace hadn't been cleaned in years. Todd reminded us in a professional manner that we needed to have the furnace cleaned regularly.

We had Columbus Worthington come out to do a routine maintenance check on our furnace. They determined that it had a cracked heat exchanger. They told us they would send another technician out for a second opinion, at no charge, and I accepted that so that my husband would be home to see the crack. They came back out and the second technician showed my husband the crack. We immediately told them we needed a quote to replace the furnace because we did not want it repaired for fear that brand of heat exchanger would just crack again. They sent a sales representative out of the same day to give us an estimate. In the meantime we had a second company come out and give us a quote so we would have two estimates to compare. Columbus Worthington Air was just a little higher, but we liked the brand of furnace they installed better and they were very prompt and knowledgeable. They actually had a opening the very next day and we had them install a new furnace and a/c at the same time. Our units were only 9 years old (original equipment), but we felt that since that brand failed so quickly, we were concerned that the a/c might be quick to fail as well, so we had them replace both units. Jeff B. and Jason A. installed our new equipment and were polite, courteous and kept everything neat and clean. We would strongly recommend Columbus Worthington Air to anyone who needs maintenance or considering purchasing new HVAC equipment.

Prompt communication to set up appointment after purchasing an Angie's deal. Called prior to arriving, arrived on time. Friendly, efficient, explained everything - great service, knowledgable technician, no complaints, would use again.

I can't say enough great things about the technician, Matt. He was pleasant and professional. He also took the time to explain information on the humidifier and UV light. He educated without being condescending and asked great questions to get to the root of the things I did not understand. I would not hesitate to use this company again, especially if all their associates have the same level of professionalism and customer service.

My complaint is not about the quality of the service but with the price I was charged for service. No new parts were installed, and the total time spent was about 20 minutes. I don't mind paying the $84 trip charge, but $65 to wipe off the flame sensor is not a reasonable charge. (It took the technician less than 2 minutes to remove it, wipe it with a cloth and put it back in! At least I know how to do that myself from now on. I recommend getting service from somewhere else if reasonable prices are important to you.

First of all I think the 5 hour window of expecting someone to be available at 30 minutes notice is not considerate of the customer. Secondly, my expectation was arrival between 12 noon and 5 pm, not just a phone call indicating that my time would be occupied even after the 5 hour window. On both occasions when I called customer service at 4:30 - 4:45 pm I got the same response "the service repairman ran into a lot of customers that did not have heat and was delayed. We do not know how soon he will be able to service you, but you are next" which was of no consolation to me since I had been waiting all day TWICE! When I called on 11/27 the customer service person assured me that I would be taken care of and not have to wait until the end of the day again when I rescheduled and that did not happen. Now I am out of the $59.00 I paid in advance and under no circumstances would I schedule with them again. I had heard that their service was good and they were prompt, but this did not work out for me. So I am going back to my previous service provider and am sorry I delayed by giving them a chance. 12/22/2015 I would like to add that I was contacted by Customer service and discussed my concerns. I must say that I really appreciate the understanding of the person with whom I spoke and his offer to rectify these issues. I accepted the offer and will provide another review of the actual service after the appointment scheduled for 1/15/16 @ 9 am is complete.

I recommend getting a service contract with Columbus/Worthington Air. You get priority service, discounts on parts and there is no labor costs if they come out to address a problem. You also get a spring and fall system inspection. I have been impressed with this company the two times they have come out. On an earlier visit this year, they uncovered a wiring issue in our heating system that was causing us to spent hundreds of extra dollars on heating costs. In addition, they convinced me to replace a humidifier that was defective and solved another problem with our heat pump. I ended up spending like $400, but will save several hundred dollars a year on heating/cooling costs. They are fair on pricing, trustworthy, and always on time. I really like out technician and you can request him for all related calls. I have done business with 3 or 4 other heating/cooling companies in Columbus, and Columbus/Worthington Air is by far the best of them all.

Started out with an annual furnace check from Ian. He was very thorough and answered all my questions about the crack in the heat exchanger that he found. Ian also took the time to thoroughly clean the air purification system and showed me how I could do it in the future, which I really appreciated. We scheduled the same day to get a quote on a new system, since replacement part was no longer made by the manufacturer. Drew came out to my home and assessed the heating and cooling requirements and sat down with me to explain his findings. He was very easy to talk with and was more than willing to explain things to me. We scheduled to have the furnace and a/c replaced. When Chris and Nate W. came to do the installation, they were right on time and did a nice job using drop cloths to protect my carpeting while they were going in and out and up and down stairs to the work area. They stayed busy the entire time they were here, never took a break for lunch, just so they could get the job completed in one day. They were easy to approach with questions and never seemed annoyed at me for asking. After the installation was complete, Chris went over instructions for the furnace and the humidifier. Again, very professional and courteous.

When they looked at the furnace there was no pressure. When they did the air conditioning the guy was, like, told him it was going to have problems because of a problem when it started up. He told us we needed this other thing. We did not have a problem already. Whether we did or not, I don't know. My husband took him at face value that we were going to have an issue. We did not have any questions, they were the ones who had the questions. I would say to others to beware because they might try to talk you into something else. $230 is a lot of money for something you are not even sure is needed. He must have been a smooth talker. This is the second time we used them. The first time they did not try to talk us into anything.

It went perfectly. I had an A #1 experience with Columbus Worthington Air on 12/08/15. My furnace went out on a Saturday. I called two top-rated heating/cooling businesses as listed on Angie's List. Columbus Worthington Air took care of me immediately with a representative, Gene, coming out that same Saturday--at NO expense--to evaluate my problems and eventual needs, which were a new HVAC system to replace my 1962 one! Gene worked with us to meet the price and the bells & whistles criteria we wanted and what he knew would work the best and be the most economical. Chris and Nate were the technician/installers who arrived first thing the following Monday morning. They were both very personable, knowledgeable and got the entire job done to perfection in one day, leaving my house as neat and clean as it was before they arrived. Gene, Chris, and Matt are professionals all the way, and I would recommend them and Columbus Worthington Air to anyone with HVAC problems.
