Columbus Lace Dry Cleaning

The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. I think it was the owner who assessed the spots and said he could try one method, and if it didn't work, try another. He was more than willing to give it a try. When I got the call to come and pick it up (they would have delivered it if I'd liked) the spots were totally gone. They had tried one method, which was partially successful, and then to get all the spots out, used another method. I was very, very impressed and very happy, because I've worn that dress to two sons' weddings, and really like it. I am thrilled to have it clean again. AND it only cost $20 for all that work! I am beyond impressed by the friendliness of the staff, their expertise and the incredible value they provide. WOW! I would highly recommend them!

I could not believe the skill they showed in cleaning it! The spots were gone, the color runs were gone, and it looks like new. I am so pleased with their work!

We go monthly to use their services. They are very good. I have tried my sons Ohio red and white jacket with them and they never asked for us to sign a release as the other places have. They did an excellent job. They are friendly and everything is ready when they tell us it will be. They are little bit more expensive than the regular cleaners but you get what you pay for. I would give them an A+ for quality!

It went very well. They're a very good company; I've used them in the past and I'm going to be using them again. The guy that takes them down and hangs them again is very professional and very good. He's here on time; in fact, he calls me fifteen minutes before just to confirm that he's on his way. He's very personable and does great work.

They have been absolutely fantastic.

I was told they would send it out to be repaired. When I came back to pick it up, the leather has been glued irregularly and there was excess glue on the sleeve. It looked terrible. Also there was a mark on the front of the jacket as though some heat had been applied. I took it back and they said they would send it out to have it done over- that it had been glued by their in-house person. I received a phone call a few weeks later saying that the company they sent the coat to said that the spot on the front was adhesive, probably from a name tag and that they would need to clean it to get it off. When I went in to pick it up, the spot was still there, the tear still looked bad and there was still excess glue. They presented me with a bill for an additional $45+ because they had to re-dye the coat. I looked at the spot on the front- it did not have the shape of a name tag and for that matter, I would not have put a name tag on my leather jacket. They said that was the best they could do and I should have known it wouldn't be able to be repaired better than that. The manager said they discounted the price of cleaning/redying. It normally would have been $58.00. I spent over $55 to have them tell me that essentially they couldn't repair it. If I had known that at the beginning, I wouldn't have spent the money on it. I am positive the spot was not on the front when I took it in originally and that it was damaged when they had it in their own shop. Then to have them charge me for cleaning and dying it when they still had not repaired the tear was not right.

I found them on Angie's List and they had good ratings. I would give them a B only because they keep your close for a week. You have to ask to get them sooner and with other cleaners you can get them within 48 hours. I don't have enough work clothes to have them gone a whole week. They are very nice and the stuff is ready. If I want to get a suit cleaned then yeah I would use them but if i have to get shirts laundered then I will take them some place else. I don't have enough work shirts.

The driver is a very nice man. They help store my furs. They treat my designer clothes exceptionally well.

They did a lot of little extras for me, including sewing buttons back on, stuffing the suite with crate paper so that your item stays perfectly pressed and even put the location tag on the bag not the item so there were no holes. They are a class act. I don’t know if they have changed since I have last used them, I haven’t seen them in quite some time since I moved away from that side of town. I don’t have suites to keep clean anymore, but I would definitely bring my items to them if treated with care.

Columbus Lace was wonderful. I worked with Steve Smith who was friendly, sympathetic, and helpful in every way despite the fact that they were swamped with xmas orders to do in the 2 days left before xmas. His estimate of success was professional, explaining what they would try and about how much success they could hope for in repairing the damage done elsewhere. It was a relief that someone was interested in the problem and helpful. When I picked up the afghan I found it had been cleaned as promised and the pattern had been raised enough that the appearance was surprisingly good. And it was done in time for xmas. They will be MY cleaners from now on.

I used these folks for 30 years - at least 2 of the 4 generations. They used to be great but today they are not what they were. If you have an emergency - too bad. They are fine for the routine, but terrible if you need something in a hurry. There is no such thing as same day service and if you bring something in on a Friday, good luck seeing it before Tuesday. Didn't use to be that way but the younger generation has -0- sense of customer service. After 2 or 3 times of getting no help whatsoever and having had tuxedo shirts butchered, (and after 30 years of being a customer), I moved on and, no surprise, I never heard from them - even though they would bill me through the mail (approximately $75-$125 per month).

They gave me some excellent advice. I was worried about having my drapes cleaned because it would be hard to replace them the same way. They told me that I could clean them with an attachment from my vacuum instead of taking them down. They were very knowledgeable and ready to explain everything. I hadn't cleaned the sheers in about 5 years, but they said that this was good, because if they are cleaned too often they can be damaged. The sheers came back in looking great.

I have been using them for about 15 year. I go every week. The price is good, but its not cheap. As for the quality, you can't beat it. The people that work at the front desk are the friendliest people and the delivery service is so on time its scary sometimes. They are so prompt and they do a great job.

Columbus Lace is absolutely the best at getting out stains. They were able to remove a rather large yellow highlighter stain from the elbow of my suit jacket, a feat that two other dry cleaners were unable to do. I also love that my clothes never smell like chemicals when they come back from Columbus Lace, which is a rarity.

The service was polite and thorough. The company was very courteous by calling twice to ask for more time to clean the very soiled gown. The technique for cleaning the fragile antique embroidered cloth was explained to me along with the risks of the procedure. The items were returned to me at my front door free of charge. They were in good condition. A few weeks later I received a bill in the mail for the service. The price is not cheap, but I trusted they would do a careful job with my fragile gown and bedspread.

THE COMPANY ARRIVED ON AT THE TIME AND DATE SCHEDULED. TWO MEN TOOK DOWN MY CUSTOM DRAPES, WHICH ARE QUITE LARGE AND ELABORATE. THE COMPANY KEPT MY DRAPES AN EXTRA TWO WEEKS TO ACCOMMODATE PAINTING AND REMODELING WORK I WAS HAVING DONE IN MY HOUSE. WHEN THEY BROUGHT THE DRAPES BACK, THE MEN REINSTALLED THEM PERFECTLY. THE DRAPES, WHICH HADN'T BEEN CLEANED IN SOME YEARS, LOOKED BRAND NEW. WITH THEIR CARE, I'M SURE THEY WILL LAST MANY YEARS LONGER. THANKS, COLUMBUS LACE!

THIS COMPANY WAS THE BEST COMPANY IN THE CITY. I LOVED THIS COMPANY, THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL WANTED TO SATISFY ALL OF MY NEEDS TO THE TEE. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH MY EXPENSIVE DRAPES AND INCREDIBLY CARING. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I HAVE TRIED JUST ABOUT ALL THE CLEANERS IN TOWN and HAVE FOUND COLUMBUS LACE TO BE SUPERIOR! THEY ARE NOT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE, BUT WELL WORTH IT.

EXCEPTIONAL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND. GIVE ADVICE ON PROBLEMS. HAVE FIXED PROBLEMS OTHER CLEANS HAVE CREATED.
