I was a little leery hiring this company, given the fact that they contract out their services and have a "B" rating. They were $200-300 cheaper then the other 3 estimates that were all "A" ratings. I expressed my concern with Joe H., the salesperson, and he ensured me that he would find the best person for the job given the fact that he was tying to get a better Angie's List rating. He contracted out Ken H. WHO WAS SUPERB. His attention to detail was amazing and he left no mess! It took him a little over the 3 days to finish the job(he works by himself). You will be fine with this company if you insist on using Ken H., and mention that you are an Angie's list customer from the very beginning.

It went very well overall. They had a delay because of rain, but they still were done in time for my graduation party. One of them noticed that they had spilled a little bit and they came right back and cleaned it up. They were just very good.

We have used this company before with mixed results. They did provide us with a husband and wife team that did an excellent job. They arrived on time with their own tools. We supplied the paint. The time before, though, the work was not as good. Certapro does sub-contract the work out.

Daniel Goodman came out and gave us an estimate on the house and he seemed professional and we looked @ the BBB and through other resources that said they were a good company. Mr. Goodman also said he would give us a 4 year warranty that he did not honor. First of all, this company estimated that the exterior painting job we had done would be $2,000, and would only take 4-5 days at the max to perform. They were supposed to remove paint and repaint the house. They hired crews that would do the job last minute. They ended up taking 3 weeks to complete the job and they only came out 2 years to re-touch the job after the stated warranty was 4 years. After the first estimate they ended up adding $500 extra to our quote because they said that because the trim was dark green and they were painting white they needed more paint. The crew members were very unprofessional and one of them actually tried to run a side business of his "mural paintings". He would ask me if I wanted to buy them and I said I just want the job done. Then another crewman fell off the ladder and broke his ankle meanwhile our hose being left half painted. This was embarrassing. They were a horrible company. We actually had to have Mr. Goodman hire another crew to correct the first work including trim and downspouts. They were better, but this whole experience was a nightmare. There were also rotted panels in the back of the house and one painters said he couldn't paint it because it was rotted. Mr. Goodman was well aware of this when he came out for the estimate. I called Mr. Goodman and he said we needed one of his carpenters and it would be an extra $500.00 to the job. Do not hire this company!!!!! Not reliable.

They did a good job and the crew was pleasant. I do need some touch-ups and they still need to come back to do that. They have contacted me, so I know that they are coming back to do that.

The entire process went very smoothly from the detailed proposal to the finished work.

They were supposed to start at 9. Nobody had shown up by 10. I call and asked where the paint crew was, and so they said they would try to find out. I had to call again at 10:20 and I got the same answer. Eventually the foreman showed up and tried to apologize but he still had no paint crew. When paint crew showed up, they were rude and unprofessional. They walked into my house without acknowledging me. I said "excuse me, you're late" & he just looked at me & turned around and left. One guy is left to do the work. I talked to the owner, but I couldn't even get a full crew. I was told the next day the full crew would be out at 8:30. Nobody even showed up for two days. Then finally I got a crew in the house on Wednesday and I wanted to move in on Friday. A totally different crew comes in with 8 guys. They did the job, but it was not as professional as I thought. I wanted a discount for my troubles. He told me I would only get the discount if I didn't go to the BBB to make a bad report.

Went fine. They could have been more prompt. They did not start as soon as they said they could when they quoted the job. However, bottom, line they were OK.

Owner Dan Goodman did the estimate on ten rooms plus 2.5 baths, laundry, entry, stairway and hall. I was told the job would take about 1.5 weeks. Work began a week later than originally scheduled. On the Monday I expected them, no one came or called. Again Tuesday. I was only updated when I called them. Work started about 11 a.m Wednesday. Some days there were 3 painters, some only one. The supervisor Sean showed up about once a week on a job that took nearly 3 weeks. Tape was left up in rooms for up to a week after painting and when removed tore paint off. Carpet, furniture & tile were splattered. Grout on the floor had paint, primer, and joint compound ground in I couldn't get out scrubbing on hands and knees. The deck was done 3 weeks after the interior. When I spoke to the owner weeks later he blamed me for choosing so many colors and said Sean had not let him know he was sick. To date the owner hasn't checked the work and only offered a visit by his house-cleaner as compensation.

They did good work, the timeliness was not good, would use again.

I think I am forever done with painting myself. We have never hired out painting before and we were a bit skeptical. The whole process was incredible. We first met Certa pro at a home show - Talked to Dan Goodman the owner. A sales rep Jon came out and gave a great estimate. Very professional, detailed, fast and accurate. Jon applied no sign-now pressure as is common in the contractor business. Simply left us with the proposal and decision. We were also offered a free color consulting with a Sherwin Williams representative which was very helpful. She came up with some unique detail ideas. We were consulted along the way by certa pro with choosing the right finish based on our walls and our usage and life situation. The whole job was finished in two days sharp. The crew worked hard and were very precise and clean. We are so happy with certa pro work and all the consulting help we got. We will for sure do our exterior next. We highly recommend Certapro. Leave painting to the pros!

The garage top was partially not painted. The side and back windows have paint sprayed on them. The back window screens had paint sprayed on them. The side of the house is uneven (not sure if there was more than one coat sprayed). The owner never called us only emails. They said since we gave a check the account was closed. It's poor customer service!

Certa Pros service was the best; from estimate and advice until the project was completed. Detailed estimate was given, they showed up on time to power wash the home and kept in touch during the rainy summer to let us know when the actual painting would be done. Their crew was professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. Give them the best rating.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, AND HAVE HEARD SINCE THEN THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD PROBLEMS. I DID CHECK WITH THE BBB, BUT I DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT CERTAPRO PAINT DIVISION, AS I DID NOT KNOW THAT MR. CETOVICH WOULD BE THE CONTRACTOR, UNTIL I RECEIVED A LETTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT. I WILL BE CHECKING MORE THOROUGHLY IN THE FUTURE, AND WILL BE USING ANGIES LIST TO HELP WITH DECISIONS.

I HOPE THAT YOU WILL CONSIDER THIS COMPANY FOR ANGIES LIST. THEY WERE PROMPT WITH RESPONSES, POLITE AT ALL TIMES, AND PROFESSIONAL. ESTIMATE WAS REASONABLE, AND WORK WAS COMPLETED IN GOOD TIME. I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THIS COMPANY TO MY SON WHO HAS A MUCH BIGGER JOB FOR THEM TO DO. THEIR FOLLOW UP CALLS WERE GREAT.

THEY ARRIVED ON TIME FOR THE ESTIMATE, BUT THE DRYWALL PRICE WAS TOO HIGH.

THEY HAD A COMPETITIVE ESTIMATE. THEY PROVIDED COLOR CONSULTANTS TO HELP PICK PAINT CHOICES. GOOD COMMUNICATION ON SCHEDULING. PAINTING CREWS VARY AND WAS A LITTLE SLOPPY-AND SEEMED TO BE RUSHING TO FINISH IN ONE DAY. OVER ALL, THE WORK WAS ACCEPTABLE AND THEY DIDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT TOUCH UPS.

UNIMPRESSED BY THE ESTIMATE PROCESS. THEY HAD A LOWER PRICE THAN OTHER PAINTERS. THE REFERENCES THEY GAVE WEREN'T THAT IMPRESSIVE. HIS ATTITUDE SEEMED FLIPPANT AND HE GAVE AN UNREALISTIC ESTIMATE OF THE TIME NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT AS WELL.

NOT ONLY DID MY JOB KEEP GETTING PUSHED BACK, IT ENDED UP BEING DONE 6 WEEKS AFTER I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE. THE PREP WAS ALSO POORLY DONE. IT HAS CAUSED THE PAINT TO BEGIN PEELING ALREADY. WHEN I CALLED THE OFFICE I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SEND OUT A MANAGER TO LOOK AT IT AND FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO, AND I WOULD GET A FOLLOW UP PHONE CALL AS WELL. NEITHER HAS BEEN DONE. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD LET THEM DO ANY WORK FOR ME AGAIN NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THEM.

CREW DIDN'T TAKE CARE IN PAINTING EXTERIOR. HOLES WEREN'T FILLED AND CAULKING WASN'T DONE PRIOR TO PAINTING. OVER-SPRAY ON ALL WINDOWS. PAINT ON DECK IS BLISTERING IN LESS THAN A MONTH.

THEY WERE TO SEND TWO GUYS AND SENT A YOUNG KID. HE WAS NOT REAL EXPERIENCED AND DID A LOT OF DRYWALL DAMAGE IN REMOVING THE PAPER. THEY DID NOT COVER MY FURNITURE AND GOT PLASTER ON ANTIQUES. THERE WAS PLASTER DUST EVERYWHERE, AND I MEAN A VERY THICK LAYER OF PLASTER. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY AND THEY DID MAKE THE REPAIRS TO THE WALLS, BUT NEVER CLEANED UP A SINGLE ROOM, WE DID IT ALL. THEY NEVER OFFERED A SOLUTION FOR THE FURNITURE DAMAGE. I WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF HIRING A ONE MAN OPERATION.

THE FIRST CREW SCHEDULED TO COME OUT NEVER SHOWED UP. THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY RESOLVED AND A REPLACEMENT CREW WAS SENT OUT THE FOLLOWING DAY. THIS CREW COMPLETED THE WORK ON TIME AND ANY ISSUES WERE IMMEDIATELY RECTIFIED. OVERALL, THE EXPERIENCE WITH THE COMPANY WAS POSITIVE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF THE EXPERIENCE WOULD BE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM FOR THE FIRST CREW AND THE SALES POINT OF 'FREE COLOR CONSULTATION'. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH THE COLOR CONSULTATION FOLKS. SOMEONE ARRIVED AT OUR HOUSE TO SHOW US COLOR CHIPS-THAT'S IT. THERE WAS NO 'EXPERT' CONSULTATION PROVIDED TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT OUR CURRENT COLOR SCHEME NOR WERE THERE REALLY ANY SUGGESTIONS PROVIDED. WHEN MAKING YOUR DECISION, DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AS A PERK. HAVING SAID THAT, ONCE WE DECIDED ON THE PAINT. THE COMPANY QUICKLY SCHEDULED THE WORK AND IT WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY. EVERYONE WE DEALT WITH FROM CERTA PRO WAS COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY.

CALLED AND HAD DAN GIVE ME A QUOTE. AGAIN THIS COMPANY CAN QUOTE A GOOD JOB, BUT CAN'T PERFORM. AFTER TWO NO-CALL, NO-SHOWS, I DEMANDED WORK START WITHIN 3 WEEKS OR I WAS CANCELING THE CONTRACT. WORK STARTED AND THE SUB DECIDED TO USE MY NEIGHBORS SPIGOT FOR THE POWER WASHER, LEFT HIS GATE OPEN AND LET HIS DOG OUT, THEN PROCEEDED TO WET (NOT WASH) MY ENTIRE FENCE. THERE WERE ONLY A FEW SPOTS OF NOTICEABLE CLEANING AND THE REST LOOKED LIKE IT HAD JUST RAINED. I CALLED THE OWNER FURIOUS, AND HE PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME THE 'YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?' I TOLD HIM THE CONTRACT WAS OVER AND I WANTED MY DEPOSIT BACK. WHEN HE REFUSED I CALLED THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND DISPUTED THE CHARGES. USE A CREDIT CARD FOR ALL DEPOSITS WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU'LL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN.

I PAID THEM $240 AS A DOWN PAYMENT, AND I PROVIDED THE PAINT ($250) UNDER THE ADVICE OF THE CREW. THEY MISSED A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TO BEGIN THE WORK. I HAD TO CALL TO RE-SCHEDULE, AND AFTER MUCH PUSHING ON OUR END, WE DID GET ANOTHER DATE SET. WE WERE TRYING TO WORK WITHIN THE WARM TEMPERATURE FOR OUR TIMEFRAME. WE DID SET A SECOND DATE, AND AGAIN, THEY DID NOT SHOW UP OR CALL. THE COMPANY RESPONDED TO MY COMPLAINTS IN A VERY NONCHALANT MANNER, AND THEY SEEMED BOTHERED THAT I WAS EVEN CALLING. WE DECIDED TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT BECAUSE OF THE EXPERIENCE, AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR DEPOSIT AND WILL NOT REFUND THE COSTS WE INCURRED FOR PURCHASING THE PAINT UNDER THEIR ADVICE. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. HIS EXCUSE FOR NOT GIVING A REFUND WAS THAT THERE WAS NO TIMEFRAME STATED IN THE CONTRACT, SO HE SAID THEY COULD COMPLETE THE JOB IN THEIR OWN GOOD TIME AND THEY WOULD NOT BE OUT OF CONTRACT. MAKE THEM PUT A COMPLETION DATE IN THE CONTRACT! DO NOT USE THEM!

ONCE THEY STARTED THEY WERE VERY FAST. THE PAINTERS WHO CAME WERE VERY POLITE AND PLEASANT TO HAVE AROUND. HOWEVER, THEY DID LEAVE SPOTS OF PAINT EVERYWHERE SPECKLING THE FLOORS AND MOLDING. I AM STILL CLEANING OFF PAINT SPOTS WEEKS LATER. I WOULD PROBABLY HIRE THEM AGAIN BECAUSE THEIR PRICES WERE COMPETITIVE, BUT PROBABLY NOT FOR DETAILED WORK LIKE WOODTRIM AND MOLDING.
