The repairman went out of his way to help. We have a newborn baby with a laundry pile up. He fit us in last minute on a busy day and made multiple stops around town pick up the part to fix our machine. He was communicative and informative. He gave us several tips on how to maintain the machine and he was very knowledgeable on the history of the product. Would easily use him again in the future.

I had an appointment confirmed with Robert this morning. The gentleman who scheduled my appointment was very nice, even called the day after I scheduled to confirm the model number to make sure that was a model they service/have parts for. Robert (the repairman) called this morning before my appointment to let me know that the error code I was seeing is usually due to a broken pump that prevents the washer from spinning, and that he would just pick up a new pump on his way to my house if that was okay. I appreciated this - it saves a lot of time and money when the repairman knows enough about what he's doing to tell you what he thinks the problem is, what will fix it and then gives you an estimate right over the phone. He explained what needed to be done and got to work. The job was done in about an hour! Fixed the pump, the washer spins, I couldn't be more pleased with the service! Robert was very personable, professional, and incredibly efficient.

See above (what the provider did).
Description of Work: We had a broken washer. I sent a message via Angie's List describing the problem and explained that since the washer was 11 years old, we were wondering if it was worth fixing. The company called us within 15 minutes and gave their best guess of what the problem was. He suggested that based upon the washer's age, it would probably be best for us to replace. They said that they could fix the current problem but based on the washer age, something else could break down in the near future. Their honesty was appreciated, especially since it resulted in them not getting "the repair job." We ended up buying a new washer.

My Oven was taking a long time to ignite. I thought it might be a "Gas problem". Caledl Columbia Gas, but they told me it was likely a part in the oven that needed repair. After reviewing Angie's List, I chose Central Ohio Appliance Repair. I called and made an appointment. They came out on the requested day. Joshua was the technician. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and replaced the igniter switch within a half hour for $152.17. I recommend this company for your Appliance repair and would use them again.

We called on a Saturday morning when we discovered our refrigerator was not cooling. The technician John arrived within a couple hours and got right to work. Behind the plastic shroud inside the fridge John found a coating of ice, covering the wiring. For one hour, he patiently and carefully used a heat gun to melt the ice before he could even get to work on the problem. In all, John spent 2 hours on the job before he called another tech to assist. He had other calls to get to that day and was having trouble getting all the components (the fridge, freezer and lights for both) to come on line. The final diagnosis was that the board was shot and they replaced. In all, the repairmen were on site approximately 5 hours. Their work has lasted for 2.5 months without problems. They charged us next to nothing given the trouble they endured. When the need arises for an appliance repair in the future, I will immediately call them again!

Everything went really well, called first thing in the morning and I told them the repair would have to be done after 2:00 they said they could do it then and would call before coming out. John called and was here around 3:00 checked the washer out quoted a price and fixed it . We will certainly be using this company again.

They were wonderful. The refrigerator part of the refrigerator freezer had stopped cooling and they had to install a new unit but the freezer part of it was fine. They had to wait to get the part and then the guy who came out came back the next day and put it in. They were very professional. I have never had such quick service really. I had called the number and the gentleman that answered the phone had first said, "I do not know, we may not get to you until tomorrow. But wait, let me call you back." And he called back within five minutes and said, "We have a gentleman in the area and he will be there within 30 minutes." Roger, the technician that came out, was here within 30 minutes and he diagnosed the problem. He ordered the part, came back the next day when he said that he would be back, installed it and everything was fine. When he told me the price of the part, that was where the bulk of the price came in because the part itself was over $200.

I called and Robert came out the next day and determined the problem. He said he would go to supply house that afternoon and get or order the part. He called the next day and told me it was ordered and he would call when it was in, which he did. We arranged for the installation and it works fine again. I would highly recommend Central Ohio Appliance Repair. Very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable, it doesn't get any better than that.

The overall experience was great. We have a newborn so not being able to do laundry was an issue we needed fixed quickly. I called at 4:00 on a Monday and they were able to come out on Tuesday. They were very flexible with accommodating my schedule. The technician was extremely friendly and explained the problem and how to avoid it happening in the future. I also liked that the price of the service call was waived if services were done.

They were awesome! He came and fixed my dryer quickly (I called on Wednesday, he was here Thursday). He charged a reasonable amount for a service call ($40) and fixed the dryer without issue. He explained the problem with the pulley in the dryer and fixed the problem without delay. One of the best experiences that I have ever had with an appliance repair company. Josh came by to take a look at my dryer. It turned out I have a bad 240V breaker. Because he couldn't diagnose a problem other than a bad breaker, he opted not to charge me for the trip fee. I called Thursday April 17th to schedule a service call. They were very nice and professional just like the customer reviews stated. They scheduled the appointment at a convienient time with my crazy schedule. The service tech Josh showed up at the time given and was very nice and professional as well. He fixed my refrigerator and provided information on the warrenty of repair and honored the Angies list member coupon of $10 off service call. I was highly impressed with Central Ohio Appliance Repair and would recommend them to anyone needing large appliance repair.

Our dryer wasn't working. We called Central Ohio Appliance Repair and the unit was fixed in less than 24 hours. My wife said the repairman was friendly, helpful and efficient. TIme will tell if the repair was durable but it seems to be working now. The $125 price may or may not have been great but I can't argue with the punctuality and quick, reliable work.

Called early in the am as my washer would not drain. Based on what I was saying, I was told it was likely the drain pump, something that is not all that uncommon on these washers (it was just three years old). They were at the house that morning & they were in-and-out within an hour, fixing the problem. Washer seems to be working fine.

They scheduled a service call in a couple of days, after doing some research online to determine an approximate cost and if they should attempt a repair. They gave a rough estimate on the phone of approximately $208 for a thermostat replacement. Repairmen John came as scheduled and analyzed the problem on a Friday. He returned on Saturday to install the required circuit board. The repair was costly at $465, but the main circuit board (out of three in the oven) was needed, at a cost of $299.

I have a Whirlpool washer that is less than 15 months old. Using Angie's List, I called and had Central Ohio Appliance Repair out to my Westerville home about a month ago because the washer was making a loud noise when the clothes were agitating. The repairman, an nice older gentleman, replaced a part, and the machine no longer made the loud noise when running, so I was happy, even though that repair cost $180. This week we moved to a new home just 5 miles away and had professional movers move our furniture and appliances. One of the movers told us we would have to buy new washer hoses because he could not get the old ones off of the faucets in our old house, so I sent my husband out to get them while the movers finished. Then one of the movers put the new water hoses on before they left. Yesterday, the morning after our move, I went into my new laundry room to use the washer. I was surprised to find it turned on but would not fill with water. The green sensing light on the machine was on and remained on, but the washer just sat there. Nothing happened. Since I had used Central Ohio Appliance Repair just a month earlier to fix this washer, I called the company again this time. I told the person I talked to exactly what the situation was and told them they had been to my home to repair this same washer the month before. The service technician was courteous and called me back promptly. He said he'd had a cancellation and would be out to our new home in about 30 minutes. I was pleased at the quick response. I then called my husband and told him the repairman would be coming, since I was working out of the home and would not be there. My husband said the repair person was here for a quite a long time--he thought maybe an hour and a half. When he left, he told my husband the washer was fixed. He left a part on top of the washer--it's labeled "synchronous motor"-- and a bill with this exact description: "Found shifter build water lines on backward and replaced shifter and corrected water lines and checked system operation." The cost was $221.29. I have now paid more in repairs for this washer than it cost when I bought it new less than 15 months ago--but WORSE--the washer still does NOT work. It's exactly the way it was when I called the repair service: the green sensing light is on but the machine won't fill. It just sits that way with the green light blinking but no water entering the machine. When I got home and went in to use the washer tonight, I did notice the repairman had left it turned to "rinse and spin," so maybe he didn't try to fill the washer and didn't realize it sill wasn't working. The invoice, however, said he had "checked system operation." I don't know, but I am SO very disheartened to have paid so much money in repairs (totally over $400, which is more than I paid for this new Whirlpool washer to begin with)--and yet it still doesn't work. I called Central Ohio Appliance Repair as soon as I got home and realized my husband had paid for the service even though the washer had not been fixed. Unfortunately, all of the phone lines rang busy--there was no recording or answering machine. After repeated attempts to reach one of the numbers on their Angie's List page, I went to the company's website. It says they close at 5 p.m. and there is no email address or any way to leave a message, nor is there an after-hours emergency contact number or voice mail. Needless to say, I am both upset and disappointed. I certainly hope I can reach the company tomorrow and that they will send someone else out to fix my washer. :(
Description of Work: Central Ohio Appliance Repair was to repair my less than-15-month-old washing machine today. My husband was home and paid the service repairman $221 after he said the washer was fixed. (I had already paid Central Ohio Appliance Repair $180 to fix this same washer last month.) I got home from work, put some laundry in and turned the washer on -- BUT it STILL does not work. The washer is doing exactly what it did before I called for it to be repaired this morning--it lights up but does not start to fill with water. It just continuously blinks "sensing."

After the Thanksgiving holiday, I discovered that my second, back-up oven would not operate due to the fact that the door was not shutting completely. John arrived at my home on the scheduled day and spent some time investigating the problem. He told me that the lower hinges of the door appeared bent (probably due to someone putting a lot of weight- like a 25 pound turkey in a heavy roasting pan! on the oven door). Although he took the door off and tried to repair the hinges, it didn't work, and he said he would have to order new hinges. We scheduled another appointment when the hinges arrived. After spending much time trying to install the new hinges, he told me that the door was too bent to allow the hinges to be installed properly, He advised me that he would not charge me for the hinges and told me that I would have to buy a new oven. (Cost of new, similar oven $2500). After discussing options, he offered to see if he could find a used oven door. He made the call while still at my home, and amazingly found a used oven door for the same oven/same off-white color. He advised me that parts and installation would run about 380. Expensive but MUCH cheaper than buying an entire new oven. John returned a few weeks later when the door was in, took the old door, and returned and replaced it with the newer door in time for a Super Bowl party at my house . I found John to be refreshingly honest and direct, professional, and fair. Frankly, most of the repair costs were for the part itself (the door), and I feel that he could have charged MORE for all of his time. I appreciated that he went the extra mile, was always responsive to questions and requests, and I ended up with a working oven. I would absolutely recommend and use Central Ohio Appliance Repair again.

The cost ended up being a little more than the service call, so like 60 bucks. He was real generous with the charge he made with me. They got out relatively quickly. He was responsive and was honest about the fact there wasn't anything wrong with my drier and didn't try to charge me for something that didn't needed to be done. So I was happy about that.
