In summary, fantastic! The carpets are flat, no ripples and the edges were professionally done. I can't even tell the carpet patch repair unless one looks for it.

Jim and his partner came out as soon as he could to access the problem.He gently moved the furniture(he was very careful with an antique cabinet)pulled up and cut the carpet and padding and told me exactly what to do to prep the area, and gave me a cost estimate.After prepping, I called him back in 3 days, he scheduled me immediately. Will use him again. He gave me suggestions on painting the baseboard in order of protecting the carpet from wet paint. Ontime,cleaned up afterwards,moved furniture back,top of the line technology,conscientious,both providers professional, excellent service,he's very knowledgable in the field. It went about as smoothly as things go. He was here when he said he was going to be here. He moved all the furniture around. He moved the heavy furniture so he could do work. He puts it back when its done. He even offered to vaccum the carpet when he left. He is a very professional worker and I would recommend him to anyone. He is what I refer to as a craftsman. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and stands behind his work.

For years, I've been watching the carpet I had installed by a not-to-be named "big box" store install continue to "ripple". Of course the installation warranty had expired. They were not excited to repair the workmanship... the price they quoted me to do so would have been almost as much as new carpet. I e-mailed Jim and then talked to him. Gave him the approximate measurements over the phone and he quoted me a price. I scheduled the repair for the next week. Jim called to tell me he was on his way exactly on time. They moved ALL the furniture, restretched the carpet, vacuumed and replaced everything exactly where it was (how did they do that???). The carpet looks GREAT. I will definitely call Jim again should I have a need for the services he provides.

The job went very well. Jim and his co-worker were very thorough and knowledgeable. They vacuumed the carpet, before and after stretching; moved some very heavy pieces of furniture, and put them back in their correct place; and made the carpet look like new again. Thank you, Jim.

Jim Hicks came out and looked at a section of damaged carpet in my lower level and the remnant that was left over from the original installation (approximately 5 years ago). He determined that the remnant would work and gave me an estimate, minus the cost of the pad; which he would have to locate. Jim said he could either do the repair on the following Monday afternoon or Thursday, depending on when he could locate padding. When he didn't call or show up on Monday I called him on Wednesday and he said he would do the repair the next day. He showed up with his helper and went right to work. They put on shoe covers when entering the house and were very careful in moving the furniture. Jim did an excellent job cutting out the damaged section of carpet and installing the remnant. The seams were excellent. When they were done they put the furniture back in its place and asked me to inspect the work before they left. Jim had explained that replacement carpet would not exactly match the old carpet due to the length of time the old carpet had been installed but his work met and even exceeded my expectations. I am very pleased with his work and the price he charged.

Loosened carpets from carpet tack strips on perimeters of front bedroom, hallway and living room. Added additional nails to carpet tack strips. Then, Jim Hicks used a carpet stretching tool to pull carpet tight and remove visible bubbles in carpet throughout mobile home. Jim Hicks and assistant thoroughly vacuumed each room when carpet was restretched, and thereafter helped me reset furnitures that had been removed from front bedroom and living room. Jim Hicks re-stretched and removed bubbles from approximately 700 sq. feet of carpet in about two (2) hours time, and the two (2) hours includes vacuuming and replacing furnitures. In our discussions before the work, Jim was very helpful and clearly experienced and knowledgeable, offering many suggestions how to get the best result. He was very accommodating to our needs, was punctual, and the job was completed in a very timely and professional manner. We could not be more pleased with his work and customer care.

Master Bedroom carpet had become very wavy. It looks awful. Other than that it was no in bad shape. I reviewed all the carpet repair service providers. For some reason the reviews for Jim Hicks really stood out, and now I know why. Jim was on time and got right to work. I showed him a door way that I had a question about and he fixed it. right there and then. Amazing. Within less than an hour, they were finished stretching the carpet, cleaning up after themselves. I was so pleased. I am going to have him back out again to do some more stretching and mending.. I highly recommend Jim Hicks.

Jim was very responsive from the start. He immediately answered my initial phone call and arranged an appointment to give me an estimate. He showed up for the appointment on time. We immediately set the date and time to stretch the carpet. They showed up on time on that day and immediately set to work. They moved furniture as necessary to complete the work. Jim was very professional in his approach and they quickly completed the job, cleaning up after themselves and putting everyything back in place. The carpet looks 100% better and all of little wrinkles are gone. They did a great job and we are extremely pleased with the results.

He came to our rental property and looked at different damaged carpeting spots. He advised me on how to do cosmetic "fixes" where I could to avoid the cost of repairs. He helped me decide where to replace carpeting and where to repair it. He ended up replacing one step's worth of carpeting using leftovers. Then he replaced a room's worth of carpeting at a VERY low price. He followed up by telephone to make sure I was happy with his work. Jim has done work for me in the past repairing spots in both plush and berber carpeting. He is very skilled in repair and installation. I would recommend him to anyone.

We had flood damage and the carpeting got wet. We removed the carpet so that it could dry and had ceramic tile installed in a part of the area that was previously carpeted. It was necessary to reattach and stretch the carpet. The work was excellent and the room looks great. We were very pleased with the professionalism and quality of the work. It required about 90 minutes to complete.

Excellent repair work - virtually impossible to tell where the carpet has been fixed and it all looks like new, including an area by a door seam where the cat had shredded the carpet after being accidentally closed up in a room for hours. The process from quote to completion of the work was straightforward and professional. We would definitely call Jim again in the future.

I called on the phone and he asked me to text him my information so he could do the work the following Friday at 1030 am. He never got back to me. I called 3x to confirm Wednesday and Thursday to confirm the date & appointment. He called me back the night before the appointment at 850 pm and said he never got my information and that he could do the work the following day at 230pm. I told him we had plans at 430 and the work would have to be completed by then. I texted him at 230 on the dot to ask him if he would be done by the time we allotted, he texted back 20 minutes later asking to move the appointment back by 2 days.

t I had a cat do its business on the carpet in my bedroom. Try as I might I could not get the odor out and being right under the bed, it didn't take much for the odor to become noticeable (i.e. it wasn't TERRIBLE but when you're sleeping right over it, you catch a whiff now and again that will really gross you out). So I called the Carpet Repair Service and Jim was very responsive initially. He asked me about my situation, told me to pull back the carpet, cut out the pad and try to clean then prime the subfloor in prep for his repair. He asked if I had carpet remnant and I said yes, but not much. He said he might be able to do the job with the carpet remnant but if there wasn't enough, he would take carpet from the closet for the repair and replace the carpet in the closet with a close match. He quoted me $175 or so for the repair. Jim and another guy came out to my house to look at the carpet and assess the situation. He diagosed that the smell was not very bad (this bordered on him not believing that the odor was bad enough to warrant a repair which was frustrating to me). Regardless, he said he would do the repair but that there wasn't enough carpet remnant for the repair. He then said that taking carpet from the closet would probably be more costly than the quote but he would still do the work for the quoted price. This puzzled me since he knew that taking carpet from the closet might be a possibility when he quoted the price. I told him that he could charge me more if it meant he wouldn't be getting screwed. I just wanted the job done. So Jim takes a piece of my carpet remnant and assures me that he will be able to find a match for the closet and will get back with me as soon as he does. He estimated it would take 3-4 days. After about a week and not hearing back, I called Jim and left a message inquiring about my job. I never heard back. I was very disappointed in this lack of professionalism and the fact that I performed work on my carpet at Jim's request (pulling back the carpet, cutting out the pad, priming the subfloor) when he ended up not completing the repair or even calling me back to explain the situation. I came away very disappointed with the whole situation.

The carpet had been down for 15 years and it needed to be stretched. He and his assistant were on time and very professional. They did an excellent job.

Jim was very helpful in explaining what we needed to do to prep our floors for a new carpet install. He gave a ton of free advice and told us we probably didn't even need his services. Even though he thought we wouldn't need his help, he still came to our job site to confirm. Super nice guy, gave much advice. A+.

I joined Angie's List specifically to find someone to repair carpeting in a rental property that had been damaged by pets and an aquarium. I read the reviews for Carpet Repair Service, and liked what I read. I contacted the company via email, and received a reply that included a request to contact the owner on his cell phone. It only took one call, Mr. Hicks answered, we scheduled and estimate and repair appointment, and the work was completed promptly. The finished product looks great, and I am very satisfied with the service I received.

Jim Hicks was great! He answered the phone right away when I called. He worked to fit us in before the holidays, creating a late work day for him. He was very punctual and made the entire experience very convenient for us.

This is the second time we've had Carpet Repair Service and both times they have been very easy to work with. Both times, they have been very responsive and I was able to make an appointment within a week. He was able to provide a quote over the phone which was the price I paid in the end. I appreciated that he called ahead to say the job before mine had run over time and he was less than one hour late, which was not a problem for me. Both workers were polite and professional and I would certainly have them back, though I hope we won't have water in the basement again!

I initially contacted Jim via email to describe my carpet needs (a small patch repair) and whole house stretch. He was prompt in getting back to me within a day or two and said that he could handle that type of work, and to call him to schedule an appointment. I did that, but waited a couple of days before I got a return phone call that went to voicemail. When I called again, on Wednesday, August 3rd, it sounded like I caught him in the middle of a job because it was hard to hear and I had to ask him to repeat what he was saying. He didn't have a pen and pencil handy to write down the details of our appointment, so I offered to put the time, day, address, and directions to our home in the email and send it to him. The appointment was for the following Monday morning, August 8. I was home all day on Monday and received no communication from Jim. At approximately 5:15 pm he called and said he could stop by later that night. I was on my way out the door and this was not possible for me to stay and wait. Jim also mentioned that all he had was my name and phone number, and that he needed directions. Clearly, he did not check his email, as all of that information was there. I told Jim that we should cancel the appointment and that I would go with another contractor to fix my carpeting. Jim seems to be highly rated on Angie's list. I hope my experience was an anomaly.
