DO NOT DEPEND ON CARL STANLEY. HE WALKED OFF THE JOB HE COMMITTED TO COMPLETE FOR ME. I have been renovating townhomes and was looking for a carpenter who could do basic renovation work. I searched on Angie's List and chose to meet with Carl Stanley. I met with Carl about a month ago and discussed a renovation project that we were planning. I showed him a townhome that we had just finished and a written job description of the work that I needed to have done on the next project. He said that he would like to do the renovation work for our next project. So, I called him and scheduled his work to be done today and tomorrow. I was supposed to have had the demolition work completed and the materials on site for his work. We had worked until late the night before, so although most of the demolition work had been done, it was not completely finished. A vanity and light fixture still needed to be removed as well as the old window sills. My handyman who was working on the demoliton agreed to come back this morning at nine to complete his work. I did not have all the materials on site for Carl since it was so late when we stopped. So, for my part, I did not have everything perfectly ready for Carl when he came this morning. However, the majority of the demolition work was completed and everything was swept and clean. Not all the materials were there, but enough material was there to keep Carl busy for several hours. The new kitchen faucet was there and he could have installed that. The shelf trim was there and he could have started on that work. He could have taken the kichen cabinet doors off and prepared them for trim... The old vanity was not removed, but my handyman was coming and would have had this completed before Carl was even ready to install it. There was plenty of work for Carl to do while I brought the remaining materials there. He had a clean, air conditioned, quiet townhome in which to work, but he chose to walk off the job. I asked him why he didn't just start with the kitchen faucet replacement and he said, and quot;I didn't want to.and quot; I offered to let him start tomorrow morning and would make sure that the old vanity was out and the demolition completed with all the new material on site. But, he said that he had already left and didn't want to do the job. I found Carl Stanley to be unprofessional. He did not follow through with what he had committed to doing for me. I was depending on him today and now my project is stalled since he walked off the job. I offered to pay him for his time, but he was unwilling to work with me. My advise to anyone considering working with Carl is do not depend on him. And, if you do, be prepared to deal with someone who is inflexible and unwilling or unable to deal with reasonable adjustments.

Response from Carl's Pro Woodworks
I never had an agreement to do member's renovation, she had called many many times wanting me to do her apartment renovations when 1 came up , i allready have a very busy schedule so when my schedule lightened up a little, i did agree to meet with her at the unit she wanted renovated to go over the renovation and complete what i needed to do. i was there at the time that we had agreed on, and she was a no show, when i did finally get hold of member, she instructed me on how to get into the apartment, when i did get in , nothing was as she said it would be, the place was a huge mess with stuff everywhere, there was not a place to setup a saw at all, let alone anything else, also there was not even 1 piece of trim, doors, cabinets, or anything, she was supposed to have all the things that i was supposed to replace, allready removed, cleaned out, painted, carpet removed, and the materials there, and be ready for me to complete job . i had informed her that i had a very small window in my schedule to complete her renovation, when we had first talked about doing this work for her and she did agree to have everything ready, and nothing! and i mean nothing! was as she said it would be. i informed member that i did not have time to complete her renovation and was booked up on my schedule for over 3 weeks out. i just do not feel comfortable working for someone that did not hold up her end of deal at all, and did not have the courtesy to give me a call and inform me that she had not done anything, to make apartment ready for me to work in. so i decided to not do anything for her at all. i useally have a tight schedule and stick to it, and complete everything that is asked of me to the very best of my ability. i just didnt see any sense in trying to do work for somebody in the future that decieved me and did not have the courtesy to give me a call and let me know that her project was not ready, cost me a days pay and expenses .

The job was completed quickly and professionally and I am completely satisfied with the job.
Description of Work: I needed a bench removed from my deck and new boards replaced where the old bench had been. Carl arrived promptly on time, completed his work, and cleaned up the area upon completion.

This was very difficult work because I have slanted ceiling in my kitchen. It went very well. He was very thorough and very accommodating to our needs. His work ethic was excellent. He was very reasonably priced, very precise, and was mindful of ensuring the surround area remained clean and safe. Carl also built me too small custom corner shelves to specification to match my cabinets. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: He customized crown molding in my kitchen.
