Capital City Awning

Their salesperson did a good follow up. We took the shade back to them the last week to get it shortened on one side. They were ready to do that for no cost. We were surprised as we were willing to pay a few dollars to get it shortened about 2 feet on one side. I had a good experience. They were honest and a first class company.

We have used Capital City Awning for many years; this is at least the second recovering we have had done. Four of the new awning covers are fine; but the covers for two of the awnings did not fit the frames correctly. The covers were too large, resulting in puffed out or sagging sides, gathering around the bottom rod frame, etc. These two awnings simply look very sloppy and are not satisfactory. The company came out to adjust the two awnings, but there was really no noticable improvement. We have contacted the company to try to resolve this problem, but have not had any further response.

It went on well. They are really good and I like them. There was one minor thing that is I wanted a white stitching, but they did a black stitching. They were supposed to come and change it but I changed my mind because white looks better than black. The price is reasonable. The workmanship is really good.

The installation for the two front windows was fine, but the awning for the double-atrium door was a nightmare. The awning did not fit, and was pulling back over the bar. They sent someone out to look at it and he just could not see what the issue was. I took pictures of it from every angle possible to show them, and took the pictures to the owner/manager personally. When I showed him the pictures and asked if he would have been happy with it, he said that he would not be happy with the work. They did come out and attempt to fix the work, and they totally remade the awning. Although they did make it better, it was not made entirely right. Because there are so few options for fabric awnings in the area, we were not able to compare prices. I hope to find another company to do the work in the future.

They were very expensive. I was not pleased with the color because it was not the same as the existing awnings. I would not recommend them.

A representative from Capital City came out to do the measurements for a permanent awning for our back door. She made suggestions based on her experience so we would have the best final product. The company installed the awning and it looks great. We also use them to store our window awnings over the winter which costs about $140 a year. They have come out as planned according to our contract.

We have used them several times. They are prompt and reasonable.

I was impressed that she was willing to lose a sale because her product was not the best for my situation. I took her advice and got an aluminum awning. I've been very pleased with it.

Capital city awning was the only one of three companies called for estimates that actually gave an estimate. They gave an estimate, and then make and installed the awning.

They were great. They were very nice people to work with.

Sales rep on time. Had many photo examples to choose from. Rep took measurements and quoted project. Upon payment of 50% deposit, order was placed in the queue with an estimated 4 week lead time. At about 4-4.5 weeks, the awning was delivered and installed. Design and quality of construction is excellent. While the cost was somewhat higher than expected, the quality justified the cost. No corners were cut on the materials. I am very pleased with the project.

Capital City Awnings consistently meets our standards. The people are great, the product makes our home look complete and savings that we get on our electric bill each summer far more than offsets the cost of the awning service, saving us about $500 on air conditioning costs.

The brown ''winter'' awning was installed yesterday. It was green with last year's mold and it was wrinkled and tattered. I've had this contract for six years and this is the third time they installed a dirty awning. So I called their office and chewed them out. Since I got nowhere, I canceled the contract. Capital City Awning is incapable of performing the service I want.

The receptionist was pleasant and worked me into the designers schedule so that I would have the consultation within 24 hours. They were flexible and worked around my schedule. I will submit a report if I choose this company to do my work

We have been storing our awnings for three years. Each time is much the same. They send out an agreement in the late summer, I choose my take-down and re-install month, and they come in November to take the awnings. In early spring, they send a bill, I pay it, and the awnings are reinstalled in March. This year, they cleaned the awnings for about $200 as well. There was some shrinkage (as warned), but they were able to reinstall without much trouble.

We use this company every year to take down and store our awnings every winter. They always do a good job. In this case, I had hired an exterior painter to paint the trim on our house. He didn't think we would need to remove the awnings, but it was clear on the first day that they needed to be taken down. I called Capital City right away with my ''emergency'' (the painters had begun) and they were VERY nice and came within about an hour and took them down for us. A week later I called and they came almost immediately again and put them back up. I was very grateful that they responded so quickly and were so nice about it.

Great to work with. Sales Rep Brian arrived on time for estimate -told 4-5 weeks to complete, actually done sooner. Brian was very nice to work with. Calls to their office were handled efficiently and quickly. Would definitely recommend and use again. Very satisfied with the service and the product we received.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. WE COULD NOT BE HERE TO LET THEM INTO THE HOUSE TO ACCESS THE UPPER STORY PORCH, SO THEY HAULED ALL MATERIALS UP A LADDER FROM THE OUTSIDE TO INSTALL THE AWNING THE DAY IT WAS PROMISED TO BE DELIVERED AND HUNG.

ONCE I GOT THEM TO MY HOME, THEY DID A GREAT JOB OF EXPLAINING MY OPTIONS, AND COULD CLEAN AND REPAIR MY EXISTING AWNINGS! THE ONLY FACTOR WAS IT TOOK A WHILE FOR THEM TO RETURN MY CALL. I HAD TO CALL BACK TO GET AN APPT., BUT I FIGURE IT'S A BUSY TIME FOR THEM.

THE REPAIR MANAGER IS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND EASY TO TALK TO AND THE SERVICE CREW ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE.

WE HAD CAPITAL CITY PUT UP 4 AWNINGS FOR US IN 1990, SINCE THEN WE'VE HAD THEM TAKE DOWN AWNINGS DURING WINTER, STORE THEM AND PUT THEM BACK UP IN SPRING.
