Locksmith Service
Called Verizon 411 and was referred to them because the address was close to us. "Jason" quoted $30 to arrive at our location and $15 for each lock opened. Unmarked van arrived (NJ license plates were out of view). The guy coerced one of us to sign a work order (for $145.00) before beginning, fumbled around and unlocked the door. Dead bolt can only be locked from outside... the key in the house. He also fumbled with the deadbolt lock, which has to be unlocked, and declares that it is broken and must be drilled. It will be $75.00 to replace the lock he drilled and killed [additional to the $145.00]. We spoke many times to the dispatcher about this and got nowhere. We called other locksmiths and got quotes ranging from $50 to $85. Eventually, the neighbors were out on their porches because of the argument and the police were called. "Jordan" the technician did not wait long enough for the officers to arrive and sped away as one of us called out his license plate to the house. We did NOT pay $145.00 for this service. We did NOT contract fro a new deadbolt lock. We did offer to pay what we were quoted, but the offer was refused. "Jordan" refused to show credentials, would not let us get a fair look at the "invoice," but the company name was lower-left and in small print... and from Las Vegas, NV. This group has an alias: 24/7 Days Emergency Locksmith.
