When our water heater decided it had had enough on a Friday afternoon we looked on Angie's list and found Calhoun Plumbing they don't charge extra for Saturday appointments and would supply a quality water heater for one reasonable price. They arrive during the time frame given and went above and beyond to get our old water heater drained. It took about 3 hours for the 2 techs to get everything removed and replaced. They were very friendly and helpful. If we ever need plumbing work done again they will be 1st on our list.

Calhoun did an excellent job of replacing a sewer line 3 feet below our basement floor. in our house that was built in the 1880s. They completed the job in a very professional manner for a very fair price. We will always use Calhoun for our plumbing needs and recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors. We have used them for small and very large jobs and they have been great!

This past Friday I called Calhoun plumbing around 3pm. I informed them that the hot water heater in my home wasn't working correctly. I was told that a plumber would come out between 3:30pm- 6:00pm. The plumber never came out even when I waited until 7:00pm. After reaching the company again, I was informed that there was nothing they could do to help me. I was actually told by Cindy, in reception that the plumber stated that "the whirlpool equipment I owned was a piece of junk and he didn't have the parts to fix it." To me this was incredibly insulting. As of today no one has called to apologize or explain why they didn't show up. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They were very unprofessional and only wasted my time. I left work early so that they could assist me and I got nothing out of this company. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Recall some awkwardness about the provider arriving as scheduled and starting work. Provider did not clean up after the work and left a cosmetically appalling mess -- a 1-inch+ gap between the vanity top and the wall that was not there prior to doing the work; filled the gap with lumpy, smeared grout/sealant. I doubt the provider would have found this quality of work acceptable at his own house -- or maybe he would not have minded. . . .

I found this plumbing company from Angie's List and word of mouth referral. I was informed that they no longer advertise through Angie's List, however I wanted to provide a review. The staff was very professional, engaged, positive and responsive; from the lady who answers the telephone to schedule appointments, to the billing department. John did a great job at the house. All the service that was offered was completed as promised and on a timely manner. All parties involved in this company responded to my many questions and were extremely helpful. I highly recommend Calhoun Plumbing, Co.

They were on time, very professional, and when I had a question a week later, they sent someone out to take a look and answer my question for free. They were really easy to work with.

I called to have a sump pump installed. They installed the sump pump and said everything is ready and done, charged me $119.00 since I had already purchased the pump. That was on a Friday 4/17. Later that night I heard a constant water drip coming from the pump area and the pump itself was make some kind of noise...this went on thru Saturday and Sunday. On 4/20 I called to report what was happening and the same serviceman came out later in the day. He said the pipe in the well needed a new bracket; he put the bracket on and made an adjustment to the new pump and charged me another $69.00!!! I feel that this is something he could have done when he was here the first time; in fact the same company installed my neighbor's pump and the said the service stayed around and waited to make sure it was working properly. The guy from the same company who installed mine did not wait around that first day. Had he done so he would have seen that there was a constant dripping of water and the bracket needed replacing then I would not have had to pay for a second trip out here if he had done the job thoroughly the first time. I am not pleased with this company and will not be using them again!!!

Repairman arrived on time and cleaned up after leaving.

Wow! I woke up to a small geyser spewing on the exterior of my home with enough standing water that it was flooding my finished basement. With all of this melting snow and rain, I know plumbers must all be very busy with sump pump issues. The nice scheduler at Calhoun sensed my panic, and said she would work to get someone out as soon as possible. Within the hour I had a call that a plumber was on the way. And within the next hour the gushing water has stopped! I'm very thankful for Calhoun Plumbing's professionalism, expertise, and responsiveness!

Great Company! Great employees. This company really cares about their customers and customer satisfaction. They originally came to my home in late December in response to my complaint of a possible backed up drain. I was very disappointed that the appointment was scheduled for 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 and was told I was the first appointment for the day. When I called their office at 9:00 to inquire about the appointment they immediately offered to reschedule for a time more convenient and since I had already taken the time off work, I declined the rescheduling offer - the crew arrived shortly after 3 but there apparently was a miscommunication and resulted in a scheduling glitch for which they profusely apologized. They snaked the kitchen drain but didn't discover an issue there then checked/snaked the sewer line and discovered tree roots. I later called the office and spoke to Jeremy, the office manager, I believe. I explained to him I was confused and didn't understand if the situation was solved (didn't have a backup regularly - very infrequently) so wasn't sure how I would know if the issue was taken care of or not. I also mentioned to him about the appointment mishap. He again apologized and said they would take X number of dollars off the total and as we continued to talk it became more apparent to him that I did not have a clear understanding regarding the work done. Jeremy then scheduled a time to come back out, at my convenience, no charge, brought the snake camera at no charge - redid what they originally did - all so I could see and feel confident that the issue was addressed! They did remove more roots the 2nd time and discovered what potentially could be causing a problem and discussed with me how to resolve this issue step-by-step! They really went the extra mile for customer satisfaction! I have not had time to follow-up with the recommendation to date but plan to do so and it will be Calhoun that I call to take care of all my plumbing needs in the future. Sincerely, Linda

They did excellant, came really fast although I called them the day before. Only took 2 hours and they were clean, you couldnt tell that they were there. They explained everything to me.

Jason and Chris arrived on Saturday on time after first calling with their ETA. 1 started with the gas lines, the other on the tub issue. Old house, old pipes! The tub had a totally clogged pipe down the line which happened to be behind my kitchen cabinets downstairs. They explained exactly what needed done. I scheduled work to get the cabinets removed and wall opened up. Jason and Chris returned a few days later on time, again calling with their ETA and fixed the pipe without issue. These guys were professional, caring and very knowledgeable in their trade, and cleaned up after their work was completed (and trust me the tub was a brown dirty mess). I called Calhoun as I was looking for a "hometown" plumber. A couple weeks after the job was complete received a Thank You note for my business from the owner.

Our sump pump quit working on a day that very heavy rains were on the way. Called the plumber we have used several times in the past and for some reason there was no answer. Needed it fixed ASAP so hit the phone book looking for help. Found Calhoun and they were life savers! They came out that day (even earlier than they originally thought) and were in out and very quickly. Did a great job (and even cleaned up after themselves)! Were happier with their work and their people more than our old plumber and will call them again if we need a plumber.

We've had Calhoun out on two separate occasions to deal with drain issues. The first was an overflowing drain in the basement. Calhoun was able to clear out the issue and we haven't had any problems since. The second time was to clean out two downspouts that were overflowing during heavy rainstorms. The technician quickly discovered that he needed some assistance and a stronger/bigger machine so he went to get some backup and returned quickly. They were then able to clear the drains and we haven't had any overflow issues since. I also noticed that since then we haven't had any dampness in the basement like we had before they came out. During this trip he also mentioned some work he would recommend having done in the next year or so that would greatly improve drainage. He made a note of it and said that I can call anytime to schedule. I have been greatly impressed with the quality of their work, their kind and attentive staff, and their prices! After these two experiences I will never call anyone else for our plumbing or drain needs!

This company replaced the floor drain in the basement. They tried to upsell me by recommending running a snake through a pipe from the washing machine that wasn't having any problems. It's been a year and a half and I am having the same problem with blockage in the floor drain. I suspect that it wasn't done right in the first place.

He explained the problem and the solution and gave me the cost and the two men were in and out within an hour. I'm very pleased.

They were prompt, friendly and efficient. The price was very reasonable. Overall, A+....

Mickey and Sam arrived on time. Both of them kept a smile on their face the entire time they were here, despite having a sewage pipe dump a bunch of clogged up food stuff all over. Certainly, if plumbing becomes an issue again, they will get my business.

I've used these folks before and found them to be very friendly, thourough, and professional.

They actually showed up earlier than expected, figured out exactly what needed to be done and quickly got to work (and that means a lot when they charge per hour). Was very professional and charged only half the amount another competitor quoted us (Rotor Rooter). Will definitely use them again, it's hard to find a good plumbing company.

The big supply line job went fine. The owner was kind, professional, knowledgeable, punctual and reasonable when he was awarded this large job at my rental house and he agreed that he would give me ?preferred customer? status as a result of such a large piece of work. A few months later, there was an issue which I believed to be related to their work ? water was coming into the basement where their supply line entered the basement block wall. I called them to let them know and they elected to send someone over immediately (after hours). They investigated and while there, given the standing water in the basement, they snaked the drain. At the time they could not say if the leak was their fault or not, so I believed they were behaving as a responsible company might who, possibly, had some culpability in the issue ? not the drain part but the water coming in. They did not ask me if I wanted them to snake the drain or for authorization to do that ? they were there to check their work on the water service line and perhaps stop new water from getting in if it was their fault. I recognized their work could not clog my drain, so I had called a different company to come next morning (by now, I knew Calhoun charges more than others and, as I had a job in dispute, did not want to continue to rely on the same company to fix a new issue). I did not receive a bill or a call until months later. Ten to twenty days after the first backup, the basement flooded again and by then, Mike Calhoun the owner had visited and we had agreed the primary issue was my gutters not keeping water away from the house. So, called and paid $160 to a different company to snake the drain again. (Had Calhoun billed me, or even informed me of the paid work they had done, I'd have called them and asked them to return / to stand behind their work.) Months later (in October) Calhoun?s accountant calls me to inquire about the bill for snaking the drain. I was surprised as I had never seen a bill and I explained to them the circumstances of what happened and they (their accountant and office manager) would not consider the truth of the matter which was that they were there to stop leakage from their work and they ended up snaking the drain though I had never asked them to do that and they never communicated with me about what they did. Furthermore, they begin telling me how I am essentially not a good customer ? how they have provided me ?several? discounts over the years (I asked them for examples as I was unaware of any, they declined to provide). Finally, I am told I will receive the bill and then a mechanics lien will be put on my house if I don?t pay. I wrote a letter to Mike Calhoun, the owner, in mid-October which they claim they never got. I got a call a month later and they said they asked me to pay and when I asked them what they thought about the letter, they said they never got it and are ready with the mechanics lien paperwork and would file in 2 business days. I called them back and gave them a credit card for the $250 as I was being threatened - this was not about the $250 but about getting reasonable service and reasonable treatment from a company I have been loyal to over at least 5 years. I did everything I could to get heard and understood but I was berated as a bad customer and threatened with a lien - this, after years where Calhoun did thousands of dollars across at least a half dozen jobs for me. What I really wanted was to be heard and treated reasonably, some consideration, perhaps halving the bill and taking responsibility for their role in the misunderstanding and a modicum of appreciation for my business & loyalty. Given this experience, I am very upset, will never call Calhoun, and will suggest others steer clear of this company. There are many fish in the sea of plumbers and this is not a good one - it's a case study in how to lose customers and negatively influence people. As a small business owner, I cannot fathom this kind of treatment of any customer, much less a long-term one that has provided a stream of business. I pay this bill and wash my hands of the company - it is under duress - and I am not happy about this.

They were punctual and speedy in giving me an estimate. However, they predicted a 4 day experience and 6100.00 price tag when in the end it was done in 3 hours and 1100.00. When I didn't sign up for the work they told me if I got a better price they would match it. A fair price at the time for the right work I would have used them

When I had called, the technician was on his way to Thanksgiving dinner and said they would come out the next day. Sure enough they did. They did a very good job and it was less money than what I had previously. I was quite pleased with their work. Two technicians came out to work on the plumbing and it took about 45 to an hour to complete.

They were friendly, they cleaned up after themselves and confirmed there was no leak.

We used them before and I liked them then and now. He came out and explained things about the old and new toilets. He took care of business.
