 + 0 moreSuper!! I have used CR before and the work is always of very high quality. Carlos and his team are very professional. His work is not cheap but it is also not the most expensive. He is very fair and stands by his work. If he does not believe the quality is up to par he will re do it without question. He even pointed something out that I did not notice. He ripped it out and redid the next day. I have recommended Carlos to several friends and they have thanked me for the referral.
Description of Work: New concrete driveway, walkway and porch steps and garage floor. Remove existing asphalt drive and existing concrete garage floor.

 + -1 moreUpdate July 2013. I filed a complaint at the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General's office due to the fact Carlos Ricardo had done a very poor job. Both agencies contacted CR Concrete (Carlos Ricardo) multiple times for a period of approximately 2 months. Mr. Ricardo did not even have the decency to reply to either agencies complaint. Since Carlos did not reply, the case was closed by the BBB and Attorney General. I was told I would have to hire a private attorney to pursue the matter. That certainly speaks for itself that Mr. Ricardo seems to lack character and has unethical business principles. I did get another estimate from another concrete company to fix the poor workmanship that Ricardo had done. The estimate was $2,700.00. I would never recommend Carlos Ricardo for anything.
Description of Work: CR Concrete replaced my driveway approximately May 2011. The job was very poor. The drainage area at the curbline would not run off and into the sewer. Carlos Ricardo, owner of the company dug the area up the first time because I kept complaining. I finally called the city inspectors office to check the problem. The inspector found the drainage area not up to code and required CR Concrete to replace the area again. Mr. Ricardo was very angry and hostile toward me after I filed the complaint with the city. The area at the street curb also required some blacktop to be dug up and replaced. I waited almost one year for that particular area to be fixed by CR Concrete. Mr. Ricardo finally showed up around August 1, 2012 to fix the area. What a terrible job he has done. The blacktop area is very uneven, has been patched in two areas and is very unprofessional looking. The expansion cut in the middle of the driveway is not straight but curves and is very noticeable. I filed a complaint at the BBB and The Attorney General of Ohio.

 + -1 moreI still have to deal with putting dirt in between the lawn and the curb, and I didn't expect to have to do that. There is a gap in between the lawn and the driveway. Otherwise, they were OK. When the work was performed, they were timely and friendly.
Description of Work: They did my curb outside of my house and the sidewalk from the driveway to my front door.

We ran into their crew working on a neighbor's house and jokingly complained about a crumbling step in our concrete porch stairs - the kids played on the railing embedded in the concrete until it broke off the corner of the step. Carlos said he didn't pour these steps (and they are obviously much older than the new patio that he did do) but offered to remove and re-pour the bottom step for $100 since his crew was already on the street for another job. They came as promised and took care of it. I plan to hire C R for concrete work in the future.
Description of Work: Removed and re-poured concrete step, reinstalled loose railing.

 + -1 moreCarlos and his crew did a great job. They started sooner than I expected and knocked it out over two days (one to remove, one to pour). The new curb looks great and is a smooth transition to our driveway.
Description of Work: The curb and gutter on our driveway were crumbling due to modifications done by a previous owner. CR completely removed the curb and gutter, and poured a new one.

 + -1 moreIN APRIL, I NOTICED AN APPROX. 10 FT LONG HAIRLINE CRACK. AT THIS POINT, I CONTACTED AND SPOKE TO THE OWNER, WHO PROMISED TO COME OUT AND TAKE A LOOK. WE HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING SINCE EVEN THOUGH I'VE CALLED ALMOST ON A WEEKLY BASIS. I WAS ABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER'S ASST. IN LATE MAY, WHO PROMISED TO PASS THE WORD ALONG, BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THE OWNER. NOW THE CRACK IS NO LONGER A HAIRLINE, BUT FULL-FLEDGED AND LARGER. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE OWNER TO COME OUT AND RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM BASED ON THE WARRANTY.
Description of Work: THEY WERE HIRED TO INSTALL A NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY. THE INSTALLATION WENT FINE: WORK WAS DONE AS EXPECTED AND IT LOOKED GREAT. THAT TOOK PLACE ALMOST A YEAR AGO, AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

 + -1 moreVery prompt, courteous, good-quality work, conscientious, professional. Only complaint was that the work took longer than expected (started on 6/29, ended 7/5). Should have only taken 48 hours, however was started on a Thursday, and he hadn't gotten the city's permit ahead of time.

IN ADDITION, CARLOS USED HIS BOBCAT EQUIPMENT TO REMOVE TREE STUMP DEBRIS THAT WAS IN THE FRONT YARD. HE DID NOT CHARGE FOR THIS, AND JUST ADDED IT TO WHAT HE HAULED AWAY AFTER THE JOB! AFTER RECEIVING THE QUOTE WE DECIDED TO REMOVE THE 2 SHOWER WALLS WHICH ALSO WERE TILE EMBEDDED IN CONCRETE. CARLOS ACCEPTED THE ADDITIONAL WORK AND GAVE US A REVISED QUOTE. COMPLETION OF THE FLOOR WORK ULTIMATELY REQUIRED ADDITIONAL FUNDS AND A SECOND CALL, DUE TO CONFUSION ABOUT WHAT WAS UNDER THE 1ST LAYER OF CONCRETE (IT WAS A SECOND LAYER OF CONCRETE, BUT CR CONCRETE'S EMPLOYEE THOUGHT IT WAS WOOD). SINCE OUR ORIGINAL REQUEST WAS TO 'REMOVE THE CONCRETE FLOOR' THE ADDITIONAL COST (WHICH WASN'T MUCH, JUST NOT ORIGINALLY BUDGETED) IS REFLECTED IN THE 'B' PRICE GRADE. CARLOS DID PROMPTLY RETURN WITHIN 2 DAYS TO REMOVE THE SECOND LAYER. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL TO ENSURE THAT PIECES OF CONCRETE DIDN'T FALL THROUGH THE FLOOR INTO THE DINING ROOM CABINETS BELOW (FOR WHICH I'M QUITE THANKFUL!) I AM CONSIDERING USING THEM AGAIN FOR FUTURE SIDEWALK WORK.
Description of Work: REMOVAL OF TILE AND CONCRETE FLOOR IN 2ND FLOOR BATHROOM OF 1913 HOME. THE FLOOR TURNED OUT TO HAVE 2 LAYERS OF CONCRETE; THE FIRST LAYER WAS REMOVED, THE SECOND LAYER REQUIRED A SECOND APPOINTMENT (WHICH WAS HANDLED QUITE RAPIDLY). ALSO REMOVED WAS TILE AND CONCRETE SUPPORT ON 2 WALLS OF A SHOWER.
