I found his estimate to be very much out of the ballpark compared to other builders in the area. I'm sure he can build a wonderful home; I've seen beautiful homes he's built for himself and others but he's just priced out of the market. He wants to charge New Albany prices, even for homes not being built in New Albany. That's fine if he had told me this up front, but I wasted a lot of time talking to him (over six months) with a price range known, and then his estimate was roughly $100,000 over this range.
