Budget Truck Rental

The reason why I picked Budget was because no hidden cost where U-Haul did. They were very professional and very helpful. I like how I didn't have to pay any additional costs.

We scheduled online to book a truck that would fit our move. We used their voice confirmation system to confirm that the equipment would be available 24 hours before pickup. On the day of pickup myself along with a few other people showed up at the location to find out that none of the equipment was available to me as well as the others. We called their customer service department and were informed that when we make a reservation it is to reserve only the price, and not equipment. The whole thing had to be canceled, which cost me $300. A replacement truck ended up costing me an additional $400. I did not have to spend anything on Budget Truck Rental. I asked for compensation for at least the difference between what I reserved for the piece of equipment that was not available and the price that I paid. Their customer service was so bad that there was no one in the company that had the authority to make an adjustment. My experience with them was horrible.

My issue is not with this location but with BUDGET in general. First of all I was made to tke a 24' truck instead of the 16' I had reserved and the larger truck was very difficult to drive. When we wet to drop off the truck in Michigan the address & phone # were wrong on my printed contract so we drove in circles in this behemouth trying to return it. Because of that we returned it late and were charged a late fee. They also charged me for cleaning the truck as they said it had insulation in it. I moved FURNITURE, not insulation. What a scam! And when I called them to tell them about the wrong address & phone # they did not care to change it so the next customer does not have the same problems as I did.
