BUDGET RENT A CAR

I reserved a 10' truck approximately one month ago online. I was to pick it up at 9:00 AM on 7/29/2011. On Wednesday, July 27, I received a call from the Bethel Road Budget Rental Office stating that they would have a truck for me on Friday. I arrived at 9:00 am Friday and there was no truck. I was told that they had been trying to call me (when I got home I found one call at 8:58 am). They had no truck but I was told they were looking for one. I received a call at 11:30 am stating that they had found a truck and it was there waiting for me. I was not able to pick it up until l:30. The truck I was given was absolutely filthy. There was trash left in it from the previous renter, the windshield had not been cleaned inside or out, and the truck had 111,000 miles on it (I was driving to N.C. so I was a little nervous about the high mileage). When I called Budget Customer Service, I was told that there is never a guarantee that a truck will be available even if it is reserved. She said trucks are not usually the cleanest vehicles but she was sorry that they did not remove the trash or clean with windshield. Basically, I got take it or leave it and I was lucky the found a truck for me!
