BUDDY'S CARPET & FLOORING

We received an estimate in writing which included the installation of Executive Power carpet and their thickest padding. We had them scheduled to come out a week in advanced and we were assured (he checked his inventory) that he had enough carpet to install for us on the predetermined schedule. This was extremely important to us as we were moving into a house where the second floor of the house had no carpet. He called us later and told us they ran out of that carpet and would have to reschedule the installation. We ended up moving into our house and putting all the furniture in the garage because we were not able to move it to the second floor. We hired movers to move our stuff. Since the furniture was in the garage, this meant we had to move it ourselves upstairs rather than having movers which we paid for do it for us. We explained this in great detail to the sales rep. They installed a thinner padding (I think 1/2") and their Executive Power carpet did not match the sample we chose. We chose that one specifically because it did not leave a lot of marks (like foot prints in the carpet). This carpet isn't the same. We took a left over piece of our carpet to other Buddy retailers and no one in those stores could identify it as an Executive Power. If fact, they were positive it wasn't the same carpet. We called the Buddy's in Gahanna about it. We called them several times and only got 1 call returned saying that they swear it was the same. And that they would have someone from the carpet mill come to verify for us. It never happened and due to just moving into a new house, we never got back around to harassing them. We also confronted them about the padding thickness and they said they would come out and fix it for us. They never did. I would never do business with them again and would gladly pay more to a competitor.

I have never been through this experience before so this was all new to me. The salesman was very helpful in explaining the difference in carpets and padding and he allowed me to make the choice. He understood my price limit and helped me stay within my price range. He stayed in touch through the whole process and worked within my time schedule as well. Carpet measuring - the person that measured was professional & prompt and showed me how the measuring process was completed. Installation. I can't say enough about the two gentlemen that completed the installation, they were professional, called to let me know they were on their way, arrived on time and stayed until the work was done. They brought a couple items to my attention during the installation and worked with me so that all the work could be completed that day. They carried all the carpet out to the curb for bulk pickup as they worked. I would use this company again for carpet and installation.

GOT IN AND GOT OUT VERY GOOD WORK

DID NOT INSTALL FLOORING TIMELY, DID NOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES. POOR QUALITY INSTALLATION OF VINYL, LAMINATE SOMEWHAT BETTER BUT INCOMPLETE FOR OVER A MONTH. SCRATCHED NEW CHERRY TABLE BY PLACING TOOLS ON IT WITHOUT COVERING. STEVE JOHNSON, DISTRICT MANAGER, EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE AND THREATENING -- MUCH MORE INTERESTED IN COLLECTING MONEY THAN IN SATISFYING CUSTOMER. A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. WILL NEVER PATRONIZE AGAIN.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. AFTER ONE CANCELLATION WITHOUT NOTICE, INSTALLERS ARRIVED LATE AND PUT IN CARPET. DID NOT HAVE PROPER MOLDING. TOOK SEVERAL CALLS TO GET THEM TO DO MOLDING, THEN THEY CHARGED EXTRA TO INSTALL IT. AFTER 2 - 3 MONTHS, CARPET BEGAN TO COME UP. I MADE AT LEAST 4 CALLS AND APPOINTMENTS -- TAKING TIME OFF WORK -- TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. NO ONE EVER SHOWED OR CALLED TO CANCEL. I FINALLY HIRED SOMEONE ELSE TO RE-LAY THE CARPET AND SUBMITTED THE BILL TO BUDDY''S. I WAS TOLD COST WOULD BE REIMBURSED. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS, SEVERAL CALLS, NO REIMBURSEMENT. THESE GUYS HAVE NO FOLLOW THROUGH. SALESMEN BLAME EVERYTHING ON INSTALLERS, INSTALLERS BLAME EVERYTHING ON SALESMEN. INSTALLATION WAS CHEAPLY DONE, FLIMSY HARDWARE, AND LOUSY.
