I paid $158 for my furnace and then they also come back and do my air conditioner in the summer. I thought the price was reasonable, I thought it was good. It was my hold up. From the time I called them, they were there in a couple of days. Workers were good. Area left clean.
Description of Work: I used Buckeye Heating. My furnace adjustment, yearly cleaning or whatever they do to it.

If I could rate this company lower than an "F" I would. I bought a Bradford White 80 gallon water tank from them in 2012. In April 2015, it exploded water everywhere. Buckeye came out, assessed it and I was told my tank is still under warranty however I need to pay labor and install of the new replacement tank. Fine. But I was also told that I wouldn't get a warranty with the new tank unless I also paid to have an expansion tank installed with it. Extra bells and whistles I had to pay for. So I did. That tank blew water all over on Friday morning, December 30, 2016. It was 20 months old. I called Buckeye first thing in the morning and a tech arrived around 2-ish. He told us that the shop they get tanks from closed at noon that day for the holiday weekend and I would need to contact Buckeye on Tuesday when the office opens again. He also suggested this tank died so quickly because I have a water softener. Seriously? For starters, that was never suggested 20 months ago when his company installed a tank in plain view of my water softener. Water softeners are pretty common in America and he's grasping at straws to blame something, anything. When he left, I called Buckeye, reached the answering service, and left a message that I wanted to talk directly to the manager on Tuesday. So I waited a long holiday weekend without hot water. To add to my frustration, my mother, who is on Hospice care, lives with me and was very sick that weekend. I spent the weekend cleaning all sorts of body fluids with ice cold water. Not Buckeye's fault, but by the time Tuesday rolled around I was livid. And ice cold. Not receiving a call, I called the office. I explained what was going on and I wanted to talk with the manager. I was told he was in a meeting and would call me back. Nope. Manager never called me. That job was given to someone else. Honestly, I don't remember most of our conversation. What I do remember is this: when we were getting nowhere, he finally tells me that Buckeye no longer has a license to install water tanks in Dublin anyway so I need to call someone else. WHAT???? And your tech who was at my house Friday didn't tell me that, why???? Did he not know? Did he think he could sell me yet another install job? He had no answer for that. Just that this is basically not Buckeye's problem. It's mine. He told me Dublin changed their qualifications and so now Buckeye can't install in Dublin. I told him Buckeye simply chose not to re-up their permit/,license or jump through whatever new hoops Dublin has instituted. Obviously, someone is installing water tanks in town, so other companies have done what it takes to keep their license valid. He gave me the name of a plumber I could try. I called 5 times. Never got a person or even an answering machine. So I was left on my own to find another company who services Bradford Whites so my warranty would be honored. I called the national number for Bradford White and, honestly, that's a whole other nightmare of incompetence. After many phone calls to multiple plumbers, I hooked up with EcoPlumbers- my new best friends. When that tech arrived, he inspected the tank and then called the warranty department at BW. We were all on conference call. Tanks were discussed along with warranties (mine did not expire until October 2018). At one point, it was brought up that I had an expansion tank - which Buckeye told me in 2015 was required. The BW rep told me that expansion tank voids my warranty. Then she hung up on me. So in 2015 Buckeye insisted I pay them to install an expansion tank along with my replacement tank or I wouldn't have a warranty. When that tank just blew, they wash their hands of the whole thing and Bradford White corporate tells me the "required" expansion tank voids my warranty!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Unbelievable. I don't know if Buckeye was simply ignorant of the products they were installing or deceitful in charging for unnecessary upgrades. Either way, I got screwed and they aren't taking any responsibility.
Description of Work: Hot water tank died. Buckeye had installed it in 2015 and it was still under warranty.

Jerry came out to discuss what we needed, go over options and provide an estimate. He was very down to earth and professional. I never felt like he was trying to pressure or up-sell. We liked the system Buckeye had to offer better than the others, and the fact that the parts supplier is local was an added bonus. Jerry was available to answer questions throughout the entire project, even after it was finished. Scheduling was a breeze, and the guys who came to do the install were awesome...very prompt, pleasant and professional. Jerry followed up after the install to make sure we were happy, something most companies don't bother to do. We love our new system! We were very happy with Buckeye and will definitely be recommending them to others!!

The work was performed the day after I made the decision. They were thorough and conscientious in the installation. Also, they were the only company that took the time to figure out just how large of a unit I needed. The others gave a size based on the size of my home. Buckeye actually looked the the size of the blower on my furnace and realized the size everyone else was quoting was a half ton too large. I highly recommend them.

Well it didn't go it's been more than 36 hours that I've been waiting on this service call. Initial call 10/25, schedule service date 10/26 which they did not show up, but my BlAcklick location seemed to be an issue. 10/27 they say the can do it 10/28 late in the day. So after that I called Logan Heating & Cooling

I liked their responsiveness. They were really fast to come. They did the job pretty quickly. That was the good part. Their parts were pretty expensive. I checked later in the market. The parts in the market are cheaper than what we sell. If you are in an emergency, you have to buy from them. I'll use them once again if it works well. If it's not, I'm going to change them.

They're a little pricey, but the product is very good. It's Lennox. One of the pipes leaked water. The pipe that goes from the furnace to outside for venting was not sealed correctly. So they had to come back and fix that. They only came back once. Whatever wasn't right, they made right. So, I would recommend them.

It went well. The salesperson explained the process, even answering questions via phone that we had the next day. He exolained the Costco program and benefits as well. For installation they arrived on time and stayed until the work was done despite the 90 deg heat. Even when they needed unexpected material they called the office and it was delivered by another team member. They explained the system and showed us how to use the new thermostat. Finally, they cleaned up and were kind to our. young children asking questions. My only "negative" comment would be that we had to wait a week after deciding on Buckeye to get an install date, but the sales person informed us of that possibly when he gave us the quote. It has been 2+ weeks since the installation and we remain very happy with the new system.
Description of Work: We had a full furnace and A/C system replaced after ours stopped working in the heat of July. (Another firm confirmed it was not worth the repair cost. We found Buckeye through their relationship with Costco.

Awful. The technician stood in my kitchen and told me I needed a new unit BEFORE even looking at it! Once I asked if he was going to go and check the actual unit he did, came back in and said it looked like we needed a new unit. Charged me for the visit and left. Fast forward almost 10 months later, living without air conditioning, I decided I would look at it myself. The breaker had gone. Seemed like a simple solution... Before this I was using Buckeye for annual maintenance on my furnace and air conditioning unit. Shame on me.

We called Buckeye Heating & Cooling to schedule a visit to inspect our a/c unit because it was not cooling our house properly. The visit was scheduled for Tuesday, May 31 between 12-5. No technician showed during that service window. About 6:00, we called Buckeye Heating & Cooling to ask where our technician was. The agent said that she would forward the request to the technician on-call and that the technician would contact us for an ETA. Two hours later, about 8:00, we call again and ask where the technician is. The agent said that she would forward the request to the technician on-call and that the technician would contact us immediately. An hour later, about 9:00, we call again. The agent stated that she would speak to her manager and find out the reason for the delay. About 9:30 the technician on-call finally calls and claims that our appointment is on June 2nd and that he is not sure why the telephone agent did not call us to inform us when we first called. I informed him that our appointment was for May 31, not June 2, and that I was disappointed with the lack of communication and organization at Buckeye Heating & Cooling. A word of caution for any Angie's List member when scheduling with this company. Due to the lengthy service window, it required us to take an afternoon of work off and we will need to take another afternoon in order to have another company conduct an inspection.

Last year I had an issue with the A/C unit starting and stopping, the technician from this provider thought we might have a leak in the refrigerant supply hose, but he was not sure. We both decided to fill the unit up with refrigerant and see what would happen. He filled the condenser unit with 3 pounds of refrigerant which worked great through the summer. This year the A/C unit began to start and stop the same as last year, so I believed we might have a leak and I called for service. The technician showed, spent some time looking at, made several calls to the technician from last year, but could not come up with a definite solution. He said the refrigerant was down to 1/2 pound so, obviously a leak....one would think. However, he seemed confused, was not very familiar with company pricing or which option he should suggest. He provided a couple of ideas, but could not articulate pricing and he even at the audacity to state that since the my furnace was 12 years old why don't I go ahead and buy a new $9000 unit. I felt very uncomfortable and I believed that either I was being "played" or this technician really had no idea what to do so he thought let's just throw a bunch of money at it and see what sticks. Needless to say, I told him that I did not want to sign there annual maintenance contract (which only really gave you a discount if you actually called them for service) and that I would pay the retail rate of $75 for the sales call. It took us 2 hours just to get to this point, which provided no solution, and I needed to return to work. I said I would not hire this provider again because Angie's List did not provide a "maybe" category. I am hoping it was just the incompetence of the technician and not a reflection on the company as a whole (we had a good experience last year). However, this technician IS the employee of this provider and therefore they are responsible for his competency.
Description of Work: The technician spent 2 hours attempting to assess the situation while making repeated calls back to the office. He apparently did not know how to resolve the situation, so I cut him off and it became merely a service call for $75.

I had several contractors in for estimates to replace my 20 year furnace. As part of the initial review of the existing system, I expressed a concern regarding the duct work. The contractors felt that a new HVAC system would solve my uneven heating/cooling problems. I was hesitant about replacing the system and still having issues heating the 2nd floor. Frustrated, I thought I would try one more contractor - Buckeye Heating and Cooling. Brad came out and assessed the equipment. I felt he actually listened to my concerns regarding the duct work and took action. Brad felt that parts of cold air return duct and air filter were too small and contributing to the uneven heating problem. We talked about the main living area having just 1 register to support the kitchen, dining and TV areas. Brad paced off 2 spots in the basement and took a few ceiling tiles out to discover a prior owner had floored over 2 registers. I still had a few concerns regarding the new equipment. Brad was patient with me and answered all my questions. For me, calling Buckeye was the best decision I could have made. I now have 3 registers supplying heat to the main floor, and overall comfort to the second floor has been greatly improved. I am very pleased with the new system and overall comfort of my home.
