We contacted their office on 5/25 informing them the AC was out. They said they would call back. We never heard back from them. When we called them the following day they said they woul not come out unless our AC was under warranty. We explained it was less than two years old but we were unsure if it was under warranty. They said they still would not come out that day even though they admitted to being wrong. Do not use this company they do not follow through

In August 2007 this customer had Buckeye heating out to quote new equipment for his home. After receiving his estimates he decided not to purchase his equipment from Buckeye Heating. His equipment is most likely still under warranty, but not with Buckeye Heating. Unfortunately there are a few weeks during the year where the weather is extremely hot or cold. Our man power is pushed to the max and we cannot always respond the same day as this customer requested. If he would have had Buckeye Heating install the equipment back in 2007, then we would have responded to his service call within 24 hours. I feel this review is extremely unfair to Buckeye Heating. We politely told this customer that we would not be able to respond that day. I am also puzzled as to why this customer did not call the contractor that installed the equipment.

Their salesman was nice and explained the equipment options well. The installation went smoothly ? or so we thought. The rebate we were supposed to receive took three calls to their office to receive. About three weeks after installation, we received a call from Buckeye Heating saying that the vent pipe from the heating unit was the wrong size and needed to be changed or else damage to the unit could result. They returned and fixed it. About 3 months later, we received a call that we needed to have an inspector come to inspect the installation. We were surprised, as we were told that this had been done already. The inspection was done, but caused us another day off work. This spring, we scheduled the air conditioner inspection since it was too cold outdoors to do it at the time of installation. A large pipe at the back of the plenum was hanging loose ? effectively air conditioning the basement only. The serviceman told us we would have to reschedule for someone to come out and fix it ? yet another day off work. The day of the scheduled repair, the serviceman arrived over 30 minutes early and was leaving as I arrived home. I flagged him down and told him he was early, but he said he got called to another job. He came in though and assessed the problem, but didn?t have the part to fix the detached vent pipe. As I explained that we had already taken two days off work now, he said he would return at the end of the day to fix it ? which he did.
Description of Work: We purchased a new heat pump and air conditioner from Buckeye Heating & Cooling last fall.

Buckeye was extremely thorough and I was very impressed by their service. I actually learned quite a bit with them as they walked me through what they were doing for us. I have bad allergies so I decided to have them test the air quality and the equipment they used was very thorough and Buckeye was very informative.
Description of Work: I hired them to inspect and tune up our furnace. I also went ahead and signed up for the biannual tune up inspections. At the same time I allowed them to do an air quality inspection.

They were on-time and did a great job.

I had used this company spring of 2008 before I signed a maintenance agreement. The scheduling was a little dicey but the service manager worked hard to make that up to me later. Once I did my fall heating service I was able to purchase a maintenance agreement with them. Since then all of my scheduling conflicts have been resolved. Larry, the service technician, does an excellent job with heat pumps and he treats them like they are worth his time and energy. I would recommend if it is at all possible that you sign up with the maintenance agreement after your first visit, as it is more convenient for you in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased a maintenance agreement with them to come out twice a year. The maintenance agreement gives you discounts and higher priority for scheduling, especially in emergencies.

Great. I followed his advice and noticed improvements within an hour after he left. I WILL request him personally to install a damper as he suggested.
Description of Work: Was to replace some duct work. Shawn, the service tech, felt original estimate may not solve all issues. He suggested adding a damper instead of replacing a long section of flex pipe. Redirecting airflow and balancing helped a lot, just what he did. He suggested adding a damper will help even the distribution throughout the whole house.

They have done a wonderful job. They have fixed several problems from a previous installer. Buckeye worked with me and the City of Columbus to make sure everything was installed correctly. Diane Platt is the manager and she was very helpful in process. They did excellent work.
Description of Work: I hired Buckeye to correct a problem. They remedied a problem from a previous installer. The original installer was not within Franklin County and took shorts cut because he didn't need a building permit to do the work.

This was not a good experience and caused a lot of hassle for me during the holidays. I had just had surgery and I called a service company, because I didn't want to fix it myself, but I ultimately did.
Description of Work: This contractor was called out on December 30 during a very cold week. My furnace would not operate. I identified the problem as an inducer motor and the technician verified same. The furnace was 20 years old and the technician said the inducer motor was not available and that a probable solution was a new furnace. He said Buckeye would only change it for an exact replacement part. He left me literally in the cold in the middle of the holidays. I found the correct part on the internet, had it FedEx in and replaced it myself. The part was an exact match for the bad motor. The furnace works fine.

Everything went very well. We discovered after moving into this house that our first floor half bath did not have heat or A/C service to it. We contacted several companies to provide an estimate for running service from the furnace to the vent in the bathroom. Buckeye was the only company out of the three which provided us estimates to discover that we did have a partial duct run to the bath, above the ceiling tile in the basement. They thought that this duct was intentionally cut at some point to allow better access when electrical updates were done to some wiring in the basement. No other company discovered this. Buckeye provided the lowest estimate and also a flat rate. They also did not try to sell us a new vent cover in the bathroom like the other companies did (I don't know what the other companies thought was wrong with the vent cover-it's fine). We scheduled the work and it was completed to our satisfaction. The only problem we encountered was that we had confirmed an early morning appointment for the day the work was done and they did not arrive within the scheduled time. When we called to determine why they were not there within the scheduled time window, we were told they had the appointment was recorded as an early afternoon appointment. Fortunately, my husband's work schedule allowed him to remain at home the entire day, otherwise we would have had quite a complaint.

To make a long story short, my labor warranty expired two months ago. My furnace had a bad part, and it was going to cost me $250 for the labor. (the part was still under warranty) After calling Diane at Buckeye, the company decided to absorb the cost of the labor and the service call. I have to say I was simply stunned. It is rare these days to find a company that really does the right thing! Many companies say they will, but when it comes right down to it, they fail miserably. I highly recommend this company to anyone. I originally used them because of Angie's list and had a wonderful installation experience. After today, I would never consider anyone else, and will recommend them to everyone I come in contact with. As a small business owner myself, I understand how easy it would be to cut back on customer service in these horrific economic times. Buckeye Heating and Cooling stayed true to their integrity and commitment to service, and for this I have to believe they are simply the best.

Our thermostat read 61 when the furnace was set to 71. Called Buckeye at 4:30 pm and they were out by 5:45 pm. They diagnosed and fixed the problem by 6:30. We were very happy to have heat again since it was below freezing outside. We expected to pay more for labor, since he had to come out after hours. However, when beginning to write this report, I checked the price of the part. We were charged $200 for the part. The highest price I found online for the same igniter (41-412) was $64, though most were $30 - $40. It's understandable for some mark-up, but this seems excessive. I checked another Angie's List company today who did the same service (after 9 pm) and charged $170. I will call them next time.

I AM SORRY THE MEMBER FELT OUR PRICE WAS TOO HIGH. SHE WAS CHARGED $99 FOR THE AFTER HOURS TRAVEL AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND $201 FOR THE IGNITOR FOR A TOTAL OF $300. DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS SHE WOULD HAVE PAID $75 FOR THE TRAVEL AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND $173 FOR THE PART FOR A TOTAL OF $248. OUR USA CONTRACT CUSTOMER WOULD HAVE PAY $59 FOR TRAVEL AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND ONLY $147 FOR THE IGNITOR FOR A TOTAL OF $206. OUR USA CONTRACT CUSTOMERS NEVER PAY AN OVERTIME FEE. THEY PAY REDUCED TRAVEL AND DIAGNOSTIC FEES AND SERVICE RATES 24/7/365. SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED OUR $130 USA CONTRACT DURING THE SERVICE CALL. IF SHE WOULD HAVE SIGNED UP FOR THE CONTRACT DURING THIS CALL, SHE WOULD HAVE SAVED $54 ON THE REPAIR AND RECEIVED A FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONING INSPECTION IN THE FUTURE. AT BUCKEYE WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE WHO OWNS A FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER SHOULD BE UNDER A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH SOME COMPANY. THE CUSTOMERS WHO CHOOSE BUCKEYE WILL NEVER BE CHARGED AN OVERTIME FEE. I THINK IF YOU CHECK AROUND, MOST COMPANIES WILL CHARGE OVERTIME FEES EVEN IF THE CUSTOMER IS UNDER CONTRACT. I WILL EXTEND THE USA CONTRACT OFFER TO THE MEMBER AND CREDIT HER BILL IF SHE WOULD LIKE TO BE A BUCKEYE USA CUSTOMER. WE NEVER HAVE A PRICE ISSUE WITH CUSTOMER WHO ARE UNDER CONTRACT. IT REALLY IS A GREAT PROGRAM.

The guy that was here was very knowledgeable and did a fine job. He knew how to track down the short which a lot of people don't know how to do.
Description of Work: I had a furnace that was not working, it turned out they had to track down a short where the people who installed it incorrectly outside shorted out a wire that was blowing out a fuse. While they were here I had them put in a thermostat too. They came out about 2 hours after I called.

On the coldest day of the year, I called Buckeye early that morning to have someone come look at the furnace. The person who I talked to was very professional and provided great customer service. They we able to come out late that morning. The tech arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed our unit. The customer service was so outstanding, I signed up for a preventive maintenance program on the spot.

I scheduled an appointment on Monday, 11/24 for a Tuesday 11/25 service call to have my thermostat checked out. I told the service scheduler (no name was given) I only had a window of 9-12 that would suit my work schedule. It was scheduled (I thought) and I was told the service person would call me before they came so I gave my cell phone number for the service person to contact me. I waited at home for a call from 8:00 am to 11:55 until I had enough. I called the service dept (again no name given) and was told it wasn't scheduled for a morning call. I told her how displeased I was and thought it very rude of any company to think they can disrespect a person's time the way they did. Buckeye wasted 4 HOURS OF MY TIME without even the courtesy of a phone call. I work for a company that employs almost 1,000 people here in Columbus, and I can assure you I will tell people far and wide of the lousy service (or lack thereof) and disrespect I received from Buckeye.

Prompt, professional, efficient, and a reasonable price - One additional note - This company installed our new furnace and air conditioner approx 2 years ago and we've been very happy with the improved comfort in our home in the winter and summer and pleasantly surprised by our lower utility bills.

I had a problem with my precious Heating and A/C Company never showing up. I saw some credible research materials with others comments on Angie's List. They seem to have a good reputation on line, according to various feedback. They have a good history. It is interesting that the previous provider I had used is also on Angie's List and also had good feedback, so we will see how this goes. So far I've been happy with their services.

Jim does great work and I trust him because he is honest. He will not sell you anything you don't need.

I thought that they were pretty good not excellent, but pretty good. I wanted the auto setting set, and they said it didn't work so they set the manual one instead. I haven't called yet but I am going to call and have them correct the issue. Other than that it is working great, and they installed it great. He knew what he was doing.
