Bell Moving & Storage

Movers left 3 deep scratches on a dresser. Lead crew member reported to the office and I emailed pictures as requested. 2 weeks later I have not been contacted about remedy. Movers came without tools needed to assemble furniture although work order clearly stated they needed to bring. Two brackets to attach mirror to dresser which keep mirror from tilting forward are not attached so must assume they lost. A whole crate of my furniture didn't get loaded onto the truck so they had to make second trip from the warehouse.

The movers were polite and very careful while loading all furniture and boxes onto their truck. Communication was good - they were readily available to answer all my questions. When it came time to deliver my furniture to New Hampshire, the process of scheduling the delivery went well. Overall I was very happy with the services provided and would recommend them to anyone from Cincinnati who needs to store and move items to a distant location.

Were to arrive between 8 and 10 am(have never had a two hour window before...that should have been my first clue). Got a call at 9:05 saying there was an issue with the truck, but they would be there within the hour. Called the person who called me at 1045 and 1100 and left a message with no return call. Called the main office in Hilliard and left a message, no return call. They did show up at 11:15. The problem was, they had driven from Cincinnati to cover this area and had arrived on good time at the place to pick up the truck, but there were no keys for the truck so someone had to bring them a key to the truck...so they were 3 hours later than they had anticipated. They were obviously upset and I understand that, but you don't take it out on the customer. They told me what had happened. I reviewed the job with them and they got to work. I shared with them the additional stop to exchange sofas, which they said they were not aware of and hooking up the washer and dryer, which they informed me they don't do. By this time I was very frustrated, but just needed to get the move done. I will say the men worked very hard and did all the things I asked of them. It started raining as they were unloading and, of course, had the day started as planned, that would have been avoided. I spoke with someone in the office on Monday(the person who left a volleyball game to run keys to movers..thank you) and was told Freida(my contact person would call me back that day and that everyone was aware of the mess the move had been). She called my on Tuesday after I sent an email expressing my displeasure(in a professional manner) at their horrible communication amongst themselves and with their clients. As of today, my last email is as follows: Thank you, I am so sorry for your disappointment with our company. My supervisor has been out of town. I did speak to my operations manager and he is going to have a meeting with the crew. I will be in touch once I get the results from them. Accounting is telling me there is a balance of 180.00 due on the move. How would you like to take care of this? . Are you kidding me!!! I am all about paying my bills, this was over estimate, which I could deal with if your customer service was anything but horrible. It is not only the crew who needs to learn how to handle things when something goes wrong...let alone a lot of things go wrong. Customer service recovery is something the people at Bell Moving and Storage need to take classes on. I would never recommend this company to anyone, unless, of course, you like additional stress during a very stressful time.

The movers did not arrive on time; they were about 40 minutes late. They did not use covers to protect my furniture and was not careful with the furniture which resulted in scratches In fact, I saw them stand my sofa on the sidewalk and scoot it on the cement. The sofa also had dried grass and debris on it from their very dirty truck. I saw one mover scooting the chest of drawers on the carpet opposed to picking it up. I offered to help and he would not let me. I pointed out he was going to damage it if he did not pick it up. He walked out of the house to get the other mover and unfortunately, it was too late. He had broken the support on the bottom of the chest of drawers and then the drawer was no longer supported and could not be repaired. A new headboard leg was "severely cracked" and could be used. I did file a claim and was reimbursed a very, very minimal amount. A wire mirror was placed in the wet grass to lay for hours. Beverage contains and trash were left in the front yard. The one mover was pretty professional but the 2nd mover was definitely not professional. They attempted to say they had to make the move in "2 loads" but I could see they had enough room to get the rest of the house contents in the truck. However, if it would have been packed tighter, they would not had to even requested a second trip because the merchandise was just thrown in the truck. Never, would I recommend this company to anyone.

The move went well. Mark and his guys were very professional. They arrived in the alloted time frame. They dropped off two items at another location and was able to still move me in four hours. They made the transaction very smooth. I didn't have to pay anymore than the price that was on Angie's List. Thank you!!

Received an estimate for 5 hours job was finished in 4!

Mike, the estimator had great answers to our many questions, he helped us save money by taking down excessive weight and was able to get us a great price for the move, which was very helpful. He understood our concerns when it came to trusting all of our possessions to someone moving them in a truck thousands of miles away. Cathy in the office who followed up through with packing, transit, unpacking, and kept in contact every step of the way. I really felt they were generally concerned with the safety of our possessions during the move. Everyone involved was nice and courteous and great with communication and Mike, the driver was great and has many of experience and was able to give us a good estimate on time of his arrival. They even included a shuttle truck, which is normally an additional charge with most companies, for free. I'd give them an A+.

I called them before purchasing the deal and after they sent someone, they told me it would take all day and the deal wouldn't apply for the work I needed done.

They exceeded our expectations in every category. Excellent service from start to finish. They were friendly and provided prompt service at a very reasonable cost.

It went fine. No problems. They were strong and experienced they moved everything quickly and did no damage.

The packing crew was excellent. However, once Bell had my stuff, it went into their storage for two weeks while they waited for a Wheaton Truck to come and pick up my load. I waited three weeks in Seattle for my stuff to come. The crew that unloaded did a very good job and only a few things were broken. My biggest gripe is the terrible job of scheduling. My move had been scheduled for weeks, but somehow that didn't get coordinated properly so my stuff just sat around in a hot warehouse. I incurred a lot of expenses while waiting. Wheaton did compensate me approx. $150 per day after their contracted date, but it certainly didn't come close to my out-of-pocket expenses. In addition to this move, I also sent some family heirloom antiques to Chicago (an additional $1200 move). It's only 400 miles away, but that move took 8 days. The person at Bell who does the scheduling is also a gruff and rude person. I had told my sales rep that I intended to put the move on my credit card when it was delivered. The driver was looking for a cashier's check and I told him that my arrangement with Bell's M & S was to pay by credit card. When we called them in Columbus, it was as if I was putting THEM out by using a credit card. Really? I sat around waiting for two solid weeks for my stuff and you can't be nice to me? If you are moving within Ohio, Bell's may be a very good moving company. But I wouldn't entrust them with a cross-country move. Wheaton seems to have some serious problems with accommodation and scheduling.

I had my furniture moved from my part-time home in AL to my new home in Ohio. Randy and Lee from Bell Movers arrived with the driver on Sunday morning. They worked hard (I have a long driveway) so I tipped them each a large amount. At the end of the move, the driver said I owed Randy and Lee $100 more because of the driveway but at that point I didn't have it because I had already given over $300 in tips. The guys were mad but I got their number and told them I'd call them as Randy also said he did handy work around the house. They came out the next day and I gave them each the extra $100 each and paid Randy to hook up my gas oven and Lee to fix my tire (which didn't work). Turns out Randy didn't fix the entire oven and I'm out another $100. He returned my call once and said he'd be out after his vacation but that was a few weeks ago and he hasn't returned my phone calls. I tried to use my oven but flames started shooting out the bottom - great job fixing it, Randy. I'd say Bell Moving and Storage hires scammers and when I contacted them to try and get in touch with Randy, I never heard back. Randy's side business is R & W Movers LLC. I'd stay far away from it, Randy Ervin and Bell Moving and Storage for hiring people who take advantage of people who just move to town. I'm really sorry I gave them such big tips now as this has totally changed my opinion of them.

It went really well. The 2 guys were really nice and polite and professional. The only complaint was they did manage to take a chunk of wood out of the staircase moulding that required some wood filler and some painting on our part. I would not have even mentioned it if they had told us it had happened, but that is truly my only issue...they were prompt and very professional.

Purchased Angie's List Big Deal. Great experience. Quick contact from company to schedule, with appropriate reminders and follow-ups. Truck arrived exactly on time. Guys worked VERY hard to complete the move in the allotted two hours.

I would definitely use this company again and would recommend their services. They were very nice and very professional. This was definitely a great deal for the money!

Purchased the Deal - 2 professional movers, 2 hours of service for $99, but after doing so was told that did not include travel time for them from their base to your pick up location, then from delivery location back to their base. This added an hour onto the job. They were nice enough to discount it from their normal rate though. Also was told a start time of 8:30 AM at the apartment only to get a call a day or two prior saying it was scheduled for 10:00am. I pushed back given that my daughter had to take time off in the morning to get this done so they once again tried to accommodate and the guys showed up just after 9am. With the short window we had, we asked that they only move the big, heavy items and provided them a list in order of priority. They made quick work of it all. Would absolutely do it again. Well worth the money and time.

When I called for an appointment, I was told that he doesn't do appointments on the weekend. When I told him the day that I was looking to move, he said that they were already booked up. I thought the fine print was a little confusing because it said that they weren’t booking until a week in advance. He was trying to be helpful in providing additional days near the date I needed but I was locked into our moving date.

The movers were great! Very professional, hard-working and efficient. We would ABSOLUTELY use them again.

It was fine. They did a good job. As far as I know they didn’t break anything.
