Description of Work: I needed maintenance on my gas fireplace. Brian, the service tech from Aspen, researched the issue and identified the problem, which required replacing the necessary part. This required in depth knowledge of this older unit, and the various issues that could arise. To do a thorough inspection, he took the unit to his office to completely assess the problem. Brian was very diligent in assuring that the unit was working properly. What great service! I give him an A+!

Description of Work: While looking for a fireplace contractor today, I noticed this company. I remember them. I remember I made an appointment with them a while back. I also remember calling them and cancelling the original appt due to my hospitalization, and when I rescheduled, they never showed up-- even after several calls to them over the course of a few days to find out what was going on. My initials calls went unanswered. At the time, they required a $79 deposit to come out and do any service, but I finally got a hold of the owner/manager, he apologized, and then refunded my money. I feel like I wasted my time. :(

+ -1 moreLAST YEAR WE HAD THEM OVER TO OUR HOUSE TO ESTIMATE REPLACING OUR DIRECT VENT FIREPLACE. THEY CAME OVER, LEFT, AND WE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. SO, I CALLED THEM AGAIN THIS SUMMER, AND THEY CAME BACK, TOOK PICTURES, CALLED US ABOUT OUR OPTIONS, THEN DROPPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
Description of Work: NONE! THEY NEVER SENT US A PROPOSAL, AND WE ASKED TWICE.

+ -1 moreTHE COMPANY DID EXCELLENT WORK AND WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE BETWEEN 9:00 AND 10:00 FOR THE INSTALLATION AND ACTUALLY ARRIVED SHORTLY AFTER 9:00. MY EXPERIENCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT IF A COMPANY SAYS 9 TO 10, THEY'LL ARRIVE AFTER 10. THEY INSTALLERS WERE VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY PUT TARPS DOWN TO PROTECT THE CARPET AND CLEANED AND TOOK ALL DEBRIS AWAY. THE STOVE HAS WORKED GREAT WITH NO PROBLEMS.
Description of Work: WE HAD A WOODBURNING STOVE, CHIMNEY & LINER INSERTED INTO OUR FIREPLACE. THEY ALSO PUT ON A NEW CHIMNEY CAP.

+ -1 moreDO NOT RELY ON THEIR SERVICE!! SALESPERSON ASSURED ME OF 30-DAY RETURN/EXCHANGE GUARANTEE, WHICH OWNER LATER TOLD ME IS VOID ONCE LOGS ARE BURNED. IRONICALLY, INSTALLERS NEGATE THE GUARANTEE AS SOON AS THEY FIRST INSTALL AND TURN THEM ON.
Description of Work: INSTALLED GAS LOGS WITH VARIABLE REMOTE. SALESMAN DID NOT RETURN THREE PROMISED CALLS REGARDING LOG ORDER OR INSTALLATION, INSTALLER LEFT MY HOME WITH A SIGNIFICANT SMELL OF NATURAL GAS, SECOND INSTALLER THE NEXT DAY TOLD ME THERE WAS A LEAK IN MY VALVE AND IT NEEDED REPLACED FOR $180. I CALLED MY PLUMBER WHO CAME AND TIGHTENED IT AND TESTED ALL LINES SAME DAY (XMAS EVE) FOR $165 (OT). OWNER DENIED THEIR LIABILITY EVEN THOUGH THEY PUT MY FAMILY IN GRAVE DANGER. FINALLY CAME OUT OVER A MONTH LATER TO INSTALL THE CORRECT LOGS, AFTER MY CONTACTING THEM, SINCE THE ONES THEY ORDERED AND INSTALLED ORIGINALLY WERE NOT THE CORRECT ONES - AND THE LOGS WHISTLED. STILL WAITING FOR REFUND CHECK PROMISED BY OWNER TO COVER MY PLUMBER COST SINCE VALVE DID NOT NEED REPLACED BUT SIMPLY TIGHTENED AFTER ASPEN INSTALLER LOOSENED IT. NEVER RECOMMEND THEM-I FEEL THEY PUT LIVES AND MY FAMILY AND HOME IN SERIOUS DANGER.

I ORDERED THE FIREPLACE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN ALL THE PARTS WERE IN STOCK. THEY NEVER CALLED, I HAD TO CALL THEM. THE TRIM AND REMOTE CONTROL WERE NOT AS ORDERED. AGAIN, I HAD TO CALL THEM, VERSUS THEIR PROMISE TO CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED. THE INSTALLER IN CHARGE WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLY OR PROFESSIONAL. I WILL NOT USE OR RECOMMEND ASPEN FIREPLACE TO ANYONE.
