Rescue Rooters was called in via AHS warranty company to diagnose a sewer line stoppage. I had a blockage underneath the house due to an old worn out cast iron sewer pipe. They came in very polished trucks & professional looking crew. I showed them two access points inside the house & also suggested access through the roof stack. They refused to camera from the inside access point & claimed its a liability issue for them to go up on the roof. I understand they are following the warranty company instructions but what lead me to this poor rating is they had no inclination to help the customer. Not just that but their whole motto seemed like just to visit & help warranty company deny the claim, although it would have been a covered item if they helped. Later two more crew came (i believe a supervisor & technician) and they too refused to help. It seemed like being a difficult under the slab job they had no inclination to help nor had the expertise to do the job, so wanted to get out of the situation. After pleading several times with them & giving them many suggestions myself they simply demonstrated no inclination to help. I called my own angieslist top contractor & within minutes he was up on the roof / inside the house jetting all the sewer lines, roof stack & cleared the stoppage all the way to the street for $300. As they say, Where there is a will there is a Way ! I have been told that in this sewer cleaning industry, there are too many non-ethical folks who will low ball their sewer cleaning service & then scare customers into making very expensive unnecessary sewer repairs. Sewer is not something one notices until there is a problem, its scary & unethical contractors pounce on your ignorance + urgency to take advantage of the situation. A good contactor should actually show you live pictures of camera in the sewer and not a computer disk or image provided as its known to be not of your sewer line but some other broken ones. He should explain you as he is doing the work what needs to be done, how much life is left & how you can avoid expensive repairs. He should also have done many jobs & not try to experiment on your property as a mishap can completely destroy your sewer line. Please be aware of such unethical service providers & go with top-rated companies on angieslist. Good luck !

It went well. He promptly assessed that the downstairs toilet was functioning properly with no leaks. He did question why my husband had caulked the inside of the tank where the bolts are located. I did not know he had done that. But anyway the plumber said everything was tight in the tank and there were no leaks. Upstairs, he replaced all of the inside parts inside the toilet tank. The water had been turning on every couple of minutes for several weeks, so we had shut the water off. Within a half hour the plumber had wrapped up the work. He told me I could download and print off an Angie's list coupon that he needed to give me the half off deal. So I did and paid him with a check.

Called this morning and explained sink slow to drain in kitchen. I was told they could have someone there in 45 minutes. I explained it wasnt emergency and I didn't want to pay extra fee for emergency service (other plumber had been called and they charge $75 for same day/ next day service. ARS said no charge for same day . And they have free estimate service. Great. Carlos arrived in 45 minutes! He was very polite and professional and went right to work. He took the trap piece from under the sink, found a small clog , rinsed it out. Checked to make sure sink ran clear. He made suggestions on how to keep drains clear. I was very pleased with promptness, professionalism, politeness, BUT $195 seems excessive to unscrew plastic pipe, cleans out clog and rescrew. Took 15 minutes He did waive the$29 service visit charge when I mentioned Angie's list. I had considered purchasing the big deal $50 for $100 worth of plumbing but the small print said expiration date 12/31/13, expired? And one of the reviews said they couldn't use that big deal on a clog removal. Wish I would have pursued as I have other plumbing needs, but I think $195 for small clog of food is excessive, I am afraid my other plumbing needs will be way too expensive . All in all I am glad for the promptness and the fact he fixed it in less than 15 minutes, but need a cheaper plumber :) 12/10/14- customer relations has not contacted me as stated in your reply 12/29/14- $195 very high for the work done, in checking other plumbers would have cost significantly less, therefore changed to not hire again, plus, their response was someone from customer relations would contact me, no one did and it looks like that is just their standard response to everyone

When our bathtub drain clogged, I purchased a coupon for "$100 worth of plumbing work for $50" from Angie's List and made an appointment with Recue Rooter to come and look at our drain. The plumber that they sent was very friendly and very professional. He was able to unclog the drain in just a few minutes (it turned out to be some hair in the drain). And he took the time to give me some tips about keeping my pipes healthy. However, I was disappointed that Rescue Rooter wouldn't honor my Angie List coupon. I was told that the coupon was only for "plumbing" work and they consider unclogging a drain "diagnostic" work. I thought that was a bit of a bait-and-switch on their part. Most people would consider any occasion that a plumber comes to visit as "plumbing" work.

The first day, two representatives came out to provide an estimate of the service. They "assumed" it was the main drain although there was no clog at the time they came nor did they try to create a clog situation ( ie running the washing machine, etc). They told me the main drain needed to be snaked and it was would be $323 plus I purchased a $100 of labor from Angies list for $50.00 . Thus the service net cost was $223.0. They also tried to sell my husband and I a service to repair a part in our main line for $15,000! The next day our problem of the water around the drain ( not main but floor drain in basement) occurred so we called them again. A different technician stated our problem was not the main drain but a smaller drain from the washing machine to the floor drain. He stated it would cost another $225. He proceeded to ask me how much I paid the other day for the main drain I told him the $223.00 . I never mentioned the coupon for $100 labor and that the initial cost was actually charged at $325.. He stated "yes" that's about right for the main plus the same cost for this smaller line as well.. I was floored!! to hear that I really did NOT get my discount of $100 labor at all.

I had a 2hr window minimum in which I was paying for and the employee was ready to leave after a hour. I asked him this and he stated that he didn't realize it was only 6pm; he arrived at 5pm. I find that a great big lie. I did tell them if you are done after hours then split the bill in half with me, but I received no response. He still honestly had more work to do. I would not recommend this company to anyone as there employee showed me how dishonest they were.

They were fine and I had them unclog my tub and kitchen sink drains. One plumber came out with an assistant. He told me a maintenance thing to do with Dawn dish detergent and I thought that was very nice. They were great.

He showed up on time and we had to wait for someone to show up with the correct part. I am still having issues with the toilet. It is still clogging up.

They were just fine and I didn’t have any complaints. I do remember having to pay extra.

That service turned out fine. One plumber came out and he was in and out within about 45 minutes. He was cordial and was a nice fella. He was on time and came according to the scheduled appointment.

I have used them over the years. They do good work so that is why I stick with using them.

Everything turned out fine. One employee came out and he was here for about an hour. He also made a recommendation.

He flushed the water heater for me. I did have a problem in the sink in the bathroom. I asked how to remove the screen and then I had to pay him $30.00 after he did the work, but I wished he would have just told me how to change it. Update 12/04/14: After seeing their review, they contacted me and came back to check the hot water tank again with out charging me. They returned my $30 check and gave me a $100 coupon for future needs.

One plumber came out a couple months ago. I would give him a B+. I thought his pricing was a little high for what they did, but they fixed 3 drains for me. The drains are still currently working.

He did have to come back but pleased with that.

Mr. Montana was really good and he was excellent. He was efficient and didn’t waste any time. He was a very experienced man and we were left with a very good feeling. His pricing was fair and affordable. He came on time and he left everything behind clean.

It took him about an hour and 10 minutes. He was very nice and very clean. He was also very thorough.

That service turned out fine. They unclogged a tub drain for me. One plumber came out and the job happened correctly. He was not proficient at what he was doing though and I feel like he did not prepare for what he was doing, he did leave a mess in my un-finished basement.

That went well and I had them fix a leak under the sink. Once plumber came out and it took him about an hour or two. He did a good job.

Agreed and paid for your "special" whole house inspection. After determining work needed we scheduled appointment on October to do needed repairs. I scheduled day off to meet them at 8:30 a.m. After waiting 4 hours I left and went to work, later that afternoon they actually called me to see if they could reschedule, ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? Couldn't have the courtesy of a call to tell me you weren't coming to do the work ? I want a full refund and will NOT be doing business with them.

The enticement was a very low price, one too hard to resist. The catch - a significant discrepancy between what the "deal" said would be provided and what the service person said the company would do. The service person was frustrated that the coupon could not be fulfilled as it over-promised what he was authorized to do. Meanwhile, only some but not all of the services outlined in the deal were performed. It is unclear to me who is responsible for the discrepancy between the coupon/advertised deal and what was actually offered on-site. But regardless, from a consumer vantage it was frustrating. All of that said, the service person who came out was knowledgeable, friendly, and competent - he just couldn't do what was promised in the coupon.

They were very fast. It was an emergency situation and they got to work right away which was nice. They cleaned up very well and were very professional.

Within 30ft. of snaking the block was cleared. It only took about 15 mins. or so. The clean up was simple and quick.

It was terrible. They just came here and wanted to up the price and I just told them to go home. The guy came out and wanted to charge me more than that to replace a whole bunch of things and I said forget it. I was not impressed. Everything about it was terrible.
