The Big Deal shows a dripping hose valve and in the description of work it says valve replacement with a "frost free". From the picture and the frost free comment, I assumed the big deal was for the outside hose bib. The service representative who came out this morning told me that the big deal covered replacement of an inside shut off valve. He provided me an estimate for replacing the the outside hose bib - $413.25. Its funny the value of the big deal is $420.00. I request that I be refunded the $99.00 that I paid for the Big Deal, because I believe that it was misrepresented.

Bought big deal for installing a toilet. The scheduling speed was amazing. I bought the big deal, they called the same day and were here the next day. The work got done as advertised and I'm happy with the result. However: 1. the plumber showed up having no idea what the call was about and had to take like 2 hours to go pick up the toilet from their shop and come back to install it. the deal I bought was very specific about the exact toilet to be installed. 2. having read all the fine print and pre-buying the big deal, it was a surprise that I had to write an additional check of $29.50 for the worker for something - he had some acronym for what it was but I think it might have been a trip charge. the big deal said absolutely nothing about this and I think that's wrong and sneaky and inappropriate. the deal was $223 for a toilet - there was no information available or way to find out about additional charges unless and until you buy it and they show up. This is my second frustrating experience with "big deals" through angile's list and I think AL should not permit big deals to contain "standard" additional fees to customers.

Flushed water heater & checked plumbing. Pushed hard to sell expensive tankless water heater & drain cleaning services. Overflow valve for water heater failed that night & required over $200 to repair. AFTER repair, they expressed concerns about economic life of water heater.

They made adjustments on 3 or 4 toilets of ours. They also put in a new valve. We were satisfied with their work.

I ended up having to reschedule the original appointment because the tech couldn't make it. They were also a bit late at the rescheduled appointment. The tech in question didn't clean up entirely around the pipe installation inside. Having said that, I was very happy with the quality of work and the price, and the job was done pretty quickly. The tech was courteous and professional. I would consider using them again.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. The kitchen sink faucet started leaking again 3 days again after he left.

Eric arrived promptly and cleared the clogged main sewer drain (in the basement) within a short time.

Service technician was "Bogart" (Erik, I believe). He arrived in his window of 9am to 1pm (12:35). He put on boot covers, inspected the problem, and began working. He said it would be no problem (a previous plumbing company refused to do it). After about 20 minutes, he was out the door and on his way. Very professional.

They missed the first appointment. I took off work and called in the next morning to reschedule the job after this missed appointment. He came back about a week later, but did not do anything that the deal stated. He just came and he left. Later, he emailed me a list of the plumbing problems that needed to be fixed.

Mike arrived and flushed the water heater then looked at the sewer line with a camera. That was the inspection. The sewer line had roots in it and had separated so he recommended we replace a 5 foot section. Mike gave us a price for the work. As time passed, water in the house cooled and in the morning was pretty cold. I called back to see if Mike or someone could tell me what to check. If I could just turn a dial or throw a switch to fix the problem, I was willing. After several hours, no one got back to me and it occured to me perhaps the circuit breaker was off. It wasoff, but when I threw the switch I heard noises in the water heater. Not sure if they were normal, I switched the circuit back off and called ARS again. Within 30 minutes Mike called back and apologized for leaving the switch off. He assured me the noises were normal. I threw the switch on again and within a few hours we had hot water again.

The service was good, they showed up on time. They just couldn't unclogged my dishwasher.

I made an appointment for 5PM and they showed up after 7 PM. They could have communicated that I should expect arrival within a time range. They also could have communicated that they only came to do an estimate and not the work. I decided that I was not comfortable contracting their work. The technician estimated a cost of $135 for something that ended up taking me 10 min with a part that cost $7. He estimated that the second job would cost from $250 -$700. This task took me 1/2 hour and the Moen shower cartridge was $38.99. The technician behaved professionally, but ARS/Rooter could do a better job of managing the customer's expectations.

I purchased a $199 Big Deal for a new toilet and called ARS the same day (a Friday) to ask for a Monday appointment. I was happily surprised that they had an opening from 4-6 PM that Monday. The office called at approximately 5:45 PM to advise that their serviceman was on his way and he arrived a little before 6:00 PM. I asked that he wear booties as I'd just had the carpets cleaned, and he did. However when he went back out to his truck, he left the booties on and walked back in with the same booties on. But I didn't say anything. He removed the old toilet and I asked that he save the wooden toilet seat so that I could install it on another toilet later. He did save the toilet seat but didn't save the "wing nuts" ( so I purchased replacements at Home Depot later). When he brought in the new toilet, he advised that I would need a new supply line which normally costs around $260 to install. But he called the office (on the phone for at least 20 minutes) and was able to get me a deal of $100. At this point I need to have a usable toilet so I told him to go ahead. When the installation was complete, he advised that I'd also need a different wax seal as the one included with the new toilet wasn't sufficient. I asked how long the ring would hold up and he advised "a couple months". I asked how much that would be to replace and he said he'd give it to me at cost- $50. I told him to go ahead as all I wanted was a usable toilet. When I made the trip to Home Depot to get the replacement parts for the old toilet seat I asked him to save, I noted that the most expensive supply line (basically a short washing machine hose) and wax seals were less than $10 each. Granted, some of the additional $150 I paid was for labor- but I really feel that I was taken advantage of. Since the work was performed though and there are no issues, I've filed this under "lesson learned." However, I will never use ARS again and won't recommend them to anyone.

Scheduling was fine, the technicians were courteous. They provided a quote that seemed extremely high, didn't break down the quote into the individual requested jobs, but instead gave multiple group quotes. I really became concerned when I saw all of the negative reviews on Angies list from the very recent past.

It worked out fine. They did a good enough job. I had a fine interaction with them.

I called because I had water coming through on my finished basement ceiling. The technician came out about 3 hours after my call on a Saturday (which I thought was great) and was friendly and communicated well. The challenge was that he couldn't find the source of the leak, so after giving him permission he cut a hole in my ceiling in two places to try to find the leak. He worked for over 3 hours and called another technician to come and look as well. He was helpful in that he didn't charge me for the second technician, because it wasn't on me that he couldn't find the source of the leak. They seem to have figured it out, but time will tell.

The provider called in advance to come out early which was very good for me. There were two of them and they had a very good cadence for how they worked through the house to systematically get everything done. My windows sparkled after they had finished - they were quick, efficient and I would use them again.

Replaced 2 outside sprockets and a garbage disposal. The technician had to leave my home 2 desperate times to get equipment. He broke a water line he was putting on so he has to go get another one and I had to pay for both. It took over 8 hours for the work to be completed

The hourly rate was high and they caused a leak but did fix the leak later that day. The Oder still exist.

Got it done Had problems getting it open first time. He had to try again. He made a mess.

There was some confusion on the time they were to start, but once they began they worked tirelessly to complete on time. we were very pleased with the job and would use them again

They gave me an estimate for extra work that was too high and I am requesting a refund.

Identified a big on line, but when I contacted the vendor to inquire on the cost to perform the service he was not forth right with the actual cost. When I contacted a service tech to schedule an appointment he quoted a price was three times the cost the first gentleman I spoke to before I purchase the big deal. I contacted another vendor on Angie's List and they provide the service at 50% of the cost quoted to me by ARS/Rescue Rooter service tech.

Went well from a service point but the coupons were not honored.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went fine. I had a couple of more drains that needed attention so there was an extra charge of about $200 above the deal price.
