The drains were performing slowly prior to being cleaned out and now they are working appropriately. The pilot light on the gas hot water tank kept going out which is why I purchased the Big Deal to have the appliance serviced. The tank was approximately 7 years old and I had replaced the pilot light assembly on it less than 2 years ago, so I figured that a thorough servicing would fix the pilot light issue. After the technician "serviced" the hot water tank they mentioned to me that I should consider replacing soon due to the age of the appliance and offered to write me up an estimate on the replacement. He ballparked that it would cost around $1,500 to replace my 40gal with a 50 gal. I did not want or ask to upgrade to a 50 gal so I requested that he write up an estimate for a 40 gal, which he then ballparked to be around $900 but at that price he could not guarantee that it would pass city inspection because that price was as low as possible and would not include converting the existing 3" exhaust vent pipe to the required 4" exhaust vent pipe, which would cost a few additional hundred dollars. As of today I still have yet to receive this estimate as was promised. So after this conversation the technician left (Saturday) and two days later (Monday) the pilot light on the water tank went out again. I called up ARS/Rescure Rooter customer service and they promptly had the technician who performed the work call me back. After explaining to the technician that the pilot light went out again he explained that there could be 1) a problem with the gas regulator on my house (not common or likely b/c I have other appliances working perfectly that use gas) or 2) the bottom of the water tank was dirty when he serviced it and there could be some debris that is clogging up the filter that is located on the bottom of the unit. He then explained to me how I should go about cleaning this filter (thought this is why I hired him). I ended up having Lowe's replace my water heater for $696 (all in) and have yet to get the estimate from ARS/Rescure Rooter that I was promised. Overall I am happy with the drain service but was disappointed with the servicing of the water tank (they did not even drain the tank although the Deal coupon clearly listed this as an included service).

Refused Service work requested was new wax ring for a toilet, repair a leak in a pvc pipe and replace a hose bib. Price atfer the 100 off was 707, price just to repair the leak in the pvc pipe was 202 a lone. I have had other plumbers come in and charge 60 for a pvc repair. Cazy price waste of 50 dollars I will never use this company stay away.

My husband was there when they came out and he thought they were fine.

It went very well. I received same day service. I received a small window of time for their arrival. I was suppose to be contacted before arrival, I was not, but is wasn't a big deal.

John was great! So honest and polite. Will definitely use him in the future and recommend him to friends and family.

He came and gave a price for the repairs we needed after he took a good look and went out to write up a cost for the service. He clearly presented what he would do and the cost. We felt that his quote was very fair and gave the go ahead. He had to go and get the pieces for the toilet repair, which included the replacement of the entire flush mechanism and an extension of the metal "rope" to the lower mechanism. After the repair he took quite a bit of time to check and double check to be sure it was working properly! This was impressive to us! His repair of the kitchen sink drain was much more complicated than originally thought and he worked on it for quite a bit until he had it repaired, which included a second place where the former plumber had not secured it in the first place. He never charged more and worked diligently until he was satisfied that this was finished appropriately. He was very thoughtful regarding entry into the home and used shoe covers when he came in to avoid any dirt or dust being carried by his shoes. All in all, we were very pleased with this service. Actually I would say RELIEVED as when you get a new service provider you just hope it will go well and though they guarantee their service, you only know in hindsight how good that "warranty" is. In this case I would say expectations met and then some! In future, we will call ARS for any plumbing needs. No question about that!!!

I was quite pleased. It was a Sunday and my basement drain was beginning to back up and I found that Rescue Rooter is open 7 days a week. I called and was given a one hour window of when the technician Lonnie would be coming that day. When the time came, Roy let me know that Lonnie would be coming with the half hour. Lonnie was very professional and answered any question I had. After assessing the problem, he quoted me a price which I thought was quite fair, especially being a Sunday. Lonnie augured out the main line and that solved the problem. It hasn't occurred yet, but a technician will be coming out later with a camera to check out the main line (which is part of the service).

It was very frustrating. Not so much him, but the whole deal. I purchased 100.00 of plumbing for 50.00??First I was told it would be 265.00? then 205? then finally 155.00? Just confused about this deal. A really misleading purchase on my part. Won't happen again.

The hot water heater check-up went well, but they gave me a quote for a sump upgrade and backup and they stood me up 4 times for the install. I just finally cancelled. I wasted at 5-10 hours of my time waiting around. Worst service I have seen in a long time.

We purchased one of the online deals for $200 worth of services. They came out and estimated the 3 repairs we had to do at very close to $2000. I felt did not want to lose the deal so had them fix an outside faucet for ~$425.00. I later later had an estimate for that same job at $90.00 plus parts which would have been right around $175.00 or give or take a little. The other 2 items we had fixed for under $200.00. It was very obviously they thought they had a sucker on their hands. Very sad.

They fixed the leak and everything was great.

Alex was the plumber who came from rescue rooter. He was great at explaining everything he was doing, and was very professional.

If I could ONLY rate Brad, the actual plumber that came to the house along with John later that afternoon - it would be all A's. the back office support dropped some into B's. I was hoping to reset a toilet and fix a small leak - then found myself wanted to completely spray the entire main house line to clean-up possible problems from previous owners. I signed up to do so and they were to be back that afternoon with the equipment and team to do so. Upon their arrival back, Brad and John checked everything with a camera to show the before and after. Promptly after Brad came back in and told me "You don't need to expensive full cleaning" - it looks good. I wouldn't have expected to hear that - as I would have thought they would have done it anyway and changed me the much higher rate. REALLY respected and appreciated it- and honest plumber. Things I wasn't a fan of: - the person who initially answered the call - she didn't listen much to my concerns, just wanted to schedule a person to come out. I felt pushed into the appointment initially. - I have left a follow up message with a question to the main line - and still have had no response. I need to call again today, which shouldn't be necessary.

Basically it was just the water flush and the heater and they offered a couple of suggestions on a couple of other things, I think it was 2 months ago, I cannot remember the exact date.

Went well. Thorough inspection. Provided recommendations.

It was good. I t was a good deal and they performed a good service. I saw them shortly after I purchased the deal around in November. I didn't spend anything extra.

The technician suggested replacing the faulty pump with a newer one. He installed the new pump and valve in 30 mins. He got it up and running quickly. We are satisfied with the service.

The plumber came in, did the job, and it was completed in a very short time. He was all very professional.

We have lived in our home for over ten years and had never heard the sump pump kick on, so when this Angie's List Big Deal came up, we jumped on it. We thought finally, we'll figure out if the pump actually works. ARS sent out Lonnie, who introduced himself to me, proceeded to the basement, shined a flashlight in the sump pump hole, and 15 seconds later, declared "it doesn't work.". He didn't even get his hands wet or dirty! He said we didn't have a battery backup and would we like an estimate to replace the sump pump? I asked him for an estimate and he went to his van and came back about 20-30 minutes later with a one line item quote of $848 (specified that it included new sump pump, check valve and maintenance on "crock"?). He did not explain any of these items and asked me to sign in two places. I signed the first place to indicate I had received the inspection service. However, upon inspection of the second line, it specified that if I signed, I was agreeing to the quote for $848 and that I was made aware of my "rights to cancel this transaction by midnight of the third day". What a scam. I had already told him I was only interested in the quote, and he again tried to get me to sign the second line. I sent him on his way and could not wait until Angie's List asked for my opinion. I must say, I have purchased many services over the years from Angie's List (especifally the Big Deals) and have never had as unprofessional a service call as this. I plan on replacing the sump pump myself with a neighbor's help this summer for less than $250.

The Angie's list deal was to check my battery back-up, mine had been going off so I had unplugged it until I could get a new battery installed. Without even going to look at it, he told me they don't fix that kind (basement watchdog) and that he strongly recommended the one they install and he could have it in next week if I paid $2,500 by tomorrow so he could get it ordered. There were no other options offered, just the $2,500 model and a push to call him by tomorrow to put money down so he could order it. I had my plumber from my old house come and install one today for $725. They were kind, prompt, and removed my old system in under an hour.

Montana was excellent! He was on time, great personality, and got in and out. Very clean job - i did not have to worry about anything. He also made sure where the larger toilet left the seal was clean....great job and great person. Would definately use again

First, he did not show up on scheduled time and 5-10 minutes into an appointment time got a call and requested a reschedule. - Next day he showed up and was so unhappy that appointment was in the evening, which they agreed to. - He was in and out of the house in less than 5 minutes after performing so called 'Whole House Plumbing inspection and water heater tune up'. Whatever I asked he gave weird answer and only thing he suggested was to replace a working water heater and facets for no reason and wanted to charge thousands of dollars to do that. - I would not even pay a single dollar for what he did, but service was prepaid so could not do anything. - About actual inspection - of course, he did not even perform it. We did discover quite a few plumbing problems in the house. - I would give less than 'F' to this company,if I could. - Do not even think about dealing with completely unprofessional company especially the person who came to do so called inspection. Even novice can do better plumbing inspections and water heater tune up than these guys.

It went well. They came out on time. He worked on the problem and he got it fixed. They did a very good job and I will definitely call them again. I have used them before. They don’t charge extra for weekend or evening hours. They have a fleet of professional plumbers; they know what they are doing. They guarantee their work. I paid extra for a pump replacement.

The service was fine. They walked down in the basement, lifted the lid, and said everything was fine and then walked off. The sump pump was making some noise, and he explained to me what it was, and there was nothing to worry about, and left. It was a waste of 50 Dollars, but I didn't know, so it was okay. He didn't do anything, but I guess he didn't need to. I felt bad about having to pay the money, and it would have been fine, if he had to do something to it. I would try them again if I needed help.
