I think I'm happy with them. All my furniture is still in good shape. I don't have a problem with that.
Description of Work: I bought almost everything for the house; the dining table, the coach etc.

The sales people are eager to sell to you and eager to sell the warranty. Then refuse to honor the warranty on their horribly made furniture. After less than two years of use the faux leather began to peel. The warranty company will not honor their contract and the sales people, manager and regional manager blow you off. DO NOT BUT FROM THIS COMPANY. They have no pride and care nothing for their customers.
Description of Work: Sold me a faux leather recliner and a warranty that has been refused to be honored.

The store experience is great. The sales people are always ready and eager to help. But the actual quality of the furniture is very poor. It is a sectional which had no springs but had a ply wood base and no coils or springs. There were just layers of cushions on it. In terms of aesthetic the furniture looks assembled and cheap. Will never buy again. We bought a mattress from the store but it was a Beauty Rest brand and that came with a guarantee from Beauty Rest, and not American Signature. Please don't buy essentials like couches and sofas from this place.
Description of Work: We bought a sectional which was on a July 4th Sale. After sale it was $700 and the original price was @1200. Attracted by the price reduction we bought it. When it came the chaise was on the wrong side. When we asked for it be on the correct side they said it would take anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks to come to the store from warehouse and that it was custom. The sectional came with a 6 month warranty. On the 8th month when my husband went to sit on it ...the seat caved in completely. It is just me and my husband. And my husband is pretty skinny and we used the couch only for the living room and not for family room . All in all it is was the worst decision to buy furniture from that place.

AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE DEALS IN MODERN FURNITURE THAT IS MASS PRODUCED IN FACTORIES AROUND THE COUNTRY. THIS CHAIR WAS MANUFACTURED BY MADISON RIDGE LLC, dba SEMINOLE FURNITURE, INDUSTRIAL PARK RD., P.O. BOX 620, OKOLONA, MS, 38860. IT RETAILED FOR ABOUT 499.00 BY ITSELF. WHEN YOU COMBINED IT WITH A SOFA THAT ALSO HAD RECLINERS AT EITHER END, THE 2 SOLD TOGETHER AMOUNTED TO 1079.99. OF COURSE, THEY SOLD US A USELESS FABRIC PROTECTION WARRANTY GOOD FOR 7 YEARS FOR 124.99 ALONG WITH SOME DO IT YOURSELF BOTTLES OF CLEANING SUPPLIES. THERE WAS LANGUAGE IN CONTRACT THAT SAID SOMEONE WOULD COME TO YOUR HOME AND CLEAN WHAT YOU COULDN'T CLEAN, BUT IT HAD A LOT OF LOOPHOLES, OBVIOUSLY, A BIG WASTE OF MONEY, BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY. FAST FORWARD TO MARCH, 2013. WE ARE IN OUR NEW LOCATION IN KANSAS. THE ROCKER RECLINER BROKE. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RECLINER CAME APART AND THE ARMREST IS NOW ABOUT 6 INCHES FROM THE CENTER CUSHION. OBVIOUSLY, IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY (ONE YEAR). SINCE I MOVED TO KANSAS, THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE COMPANY CAN DO FOR ME. I BELIEVE THAT IF I HAD REMAINED IN PA. AND HAD THIS PROBLEM 3 MOS. AFTER THE WARRANTY, THE COMPANY, IN THE INTEREST OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REPUTATION EITHER WOULD HAVE FIXED IT FOR FREE OR FOR A SMALL AMOUNT AND CHARGED IT BACK TO THE COMPANY. WHEN I CALLED THEM TO REPORT THE BREAKDOWN TODAY (APRIL 8TH, 2013), I MORE OR LESS ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION ABOUT WHAT AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE COULD DO FOR ME. THEY DON'T HAVE A PRESENCE IN KANSAS. THEY DON'T LEGALLY HAVE ANY LIABILITY AND EVEN IF THEY DID, IT WOULD BE COST PROHIBITIVE TO SEND THE FURNITURE TO THEM. THE PROBLEM IS, AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE TROLLS THE FURNITURE COMPANIES IN THE UNITED STATES LOOKING FOR LOW TO MODERATE PRICED FURNITURE THAT THEY CAN SELL TO A NICHE MARKET. THAT IS, IT'S NOT TRAILER TRASH AND IT'S NOT HIGH END FROM A PRIVATE FURNITURE STORE, OR LAZY BOY, OR ETHAN ALLEN. THEIR STUFF IS PRICED OUT TO APPEAL TO JOE AVERAGE, SIMILAR TO WHAT THE BIG BOX STORES SELL LIKE J.C. PENNEY, SEARS (NO LONGER SELLS FURNITURE), AND OTHER MAJOR DEPT. STORES. IT LOOKS GOOD IN THE SHOWROOM, IT PRESENTS WELL, IT FEELS COMFORTABLE WHEN YOU SIT ON IT FOR 35 SECONDS TO TRY IT OUT. THEN THEY HOOK YOU IN WITH COMBO SALES, EASY CREDIT, AND THE USUAL PLOYS. THIS COMPANY, MENTIONED ABOVE, MAKES FURNITURE THAT, FRANKLY, IS JUNK. THEY MAKE IT WITH CHEAP MATERIALS, AND THIS IS THE RESULT. THE FABRIC IS WEARING PREMATURELY (WHICH WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN COVERED BY THE STAIN WARRANTY). THE STEEL INTERIOR MECHANISM THAT OPERATES THE RECLINER WAS MADE PROPERLY AND IT APPEARS THAT IT WOULD'VE HELD UP. THE SPRINGS ARE CHEAP AND THE FURNITURE SAGGED AFTER A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. WHERE THEY WENT EVEN MORE WRONG IS, THEY TRIED TO SAVE A BUCK, (LITERALLY) BY USING A COMBINATION OF 3/4" PLYWOOD & PARTICLE BOARD. THE AREA THAT FAILED IS WHERE 2 PIECES OF PARTICLE BOARD ARE STAPLED TOGETHER WITH U-SHAPED STAPLES. MOST DECENT FURNITURE IS MADE WITH 3/4 PLYWOOD THAT IS SCREWED & GLUED. SOME OF THE FRAME WAS DONE IN THIS MANNER. HOWEVER, THIS STRATEGIC PART OF THE FURNITURE WAS NOT. THEY ACTUALLY STAPLED 2 PIECES OF PARTICLE BOARD TOGETHER & PROBABLY EXPECTED IT TO LAST ABOUT A YEAR, WHICH IT DID. AFTER A YEAR, EVERYBODY CONNECTED WITH THE SALE IS NO LONGER LIABLE AND THE CUSTOMER IS LEFT WITH A USELESS PIECE OF SCRAP. MY ADVICE TO YOU IS , IT'S OK TO CHECK AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE OUT TO SEE IF SOMETHING INTERESTS YOU, BUT THEN I WOULD TURN THE FURNITURE OVER AND CHECK THE CONSTRUCTION. IF YOU NOTICE ANY PARTICLE BOARD ANYWHERE, FLIP IT OVER AND DON'T LOOK AT IT AGAIN. I NOTICED IN THE FOLDER THAT HELD THE FABRIC WARRANTY & THE RECEIPT THAT THEY WILL GUARANTEE CERTAIN FURNITURE FOR A "LIFETIME." THAT FURNITURE IS CALLED THE "AMERICAN SIGNATURE" BRANDED" SERIES. ADVICE: NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE THAT DOES NOT CARRY THAT NAME--"AMERICAN SIGNATURE BRAND". THAT WAY YOU PAY MORE, BUT YOU ARE PROTECTED AND YOU WON'T GET BURNED LIKE I DID. AS WE ALL KNOW, FURNITURE & BEDDING IS A CATEGORY THAT IS A REAL RIPOFF IN AMERICA. IT IS SIMILAR TO A USED CAR OR EVEN A NEW CAR THAT DEPRECIATES 20% WHEN YOU DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT. THERE IS A HUGE MARKUP IN FURNITURE & BEDDING AND CARS. IT' BEEN REPORTED THAT THE MARKUP ON FURNITURE IS AS HIGH AS 250%. SO WHEN THEY CLOSEOUT AN ITEM, THEY ARE STILL MAKING 50% PROFIT. SAD BUT TRUE COMMENTARY ON AMERICAN BUSINESS. IT'S A CLIQUE AND YOU CAN'T GET AROUND IT. YOU EITHER BUY IT OR GO WITHOUT. YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO PAY. IF YOU BUY "CHEAP" FURNITURE, YOU GET CHEAP FURNITURE. HOWEVER, GOOD WELL MADE FURNITURE IS GROSSLY OVERPRICED. WHY SOMEBODY DOESN'T OFFER WELL MADE FURNITURE AND SELL IT FOR LESS AND MAKE IT UP ON VOLUME, I CAN'T ANSWER THAT. I WISH I KNEW. I UNDERSTAND IF YOU BUY DIRECTLY FROM FURNITURE MAKERS, YOU CAN SAVE MONEY, BUT IT'S A LOT OF HASSLE WITH SHIPPING & WARRANTY WORK, ETC. IF YOU JUST GOT YOUR INCOME TAX REFUND AND YOU CAN ONLY AFFORD 2 GRAND TO FURNISH YOUR LIVING ROOM, YOU WILL END UP AT PLACES LIKE AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE. THEY FEEL THEY ARE DOING THIS CUSTOMER NICHE A FAVOR BY PROVIDING AFFORDABLE FURNITURE THAT LOOKS GOOD AND WORKS IN THE BEGINNING, BUT IS SUBJECT TO QUICKLY DETERIORATING FABRIC AND , OF COURSE, BREAKDOWNS BECAUSE OF INFERIOR MATERIALS AND/OR WORKMANSHIP. MAYBE, IN MISSISSIPPI, (WHERE PEOPLE ARE VERY POOR), THEY THINK THIS IS GREAT STUFF, I DON'T KNOW. I GUESS IF YOU ARE SITTING ON WOODEN CRATES, IT IS A BIG IMPROVEMENT TO MOVE UP TO THIS LEVEL OF FURNITURE. AGAIN, I SAY, BUYER BEWARE, TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE FURNITURE BY FLIPPING IT OVER AND LOOK AT THE CONSTRUCTION, ESPECIALLY THE WOOD. YOU WILL THEN KNOW WHETHER IT IS GOING TO LAST. THE FABRIC IS ANOTHER STORY, IT'S HARD TO TELL WHAT GOOD FABRIC IS. I WOULD COVER THE ARMRESTS PERMANENTLY, THEN IT WILL PROBABLY LAST. IF EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD, THERE WOULDN'T BE FURNITURE COMPANIES LIKE SEMINOLE FURNITURE TRYING TO HIT A PRICE POINT AND KEEP IT UNDER BUDGET. THEY WOULD HAVE SOME MORALS AND SCRUPLES AND ETHICS AND PUT OUT A QUALITY PRODUCT THAT WOULD REALLY ONLY COST THEM A FEW MORE DOLLARS TO MAKE. IF THEY WOULD HAVE USED REAL WOOD THRUOUT THE ENTIRE CONSTRUCTION, IT WOULD HAVE COST THEM A COUPLE OF DOLLARS MORE. ALSO, RETAILERS LIKE AMERICAN SIGNATURE FURNITURE SHOULD RAISE THEIR STANDARDS AND NOT BUY THIS FURNITURE. THEY WOULD DEMAND A CERTAIN LEVEL OF QUALITY. EVENTUALLY, THE FURNITURE MAKERS WOULD GET THE MESSAGE AND THEY WOULD STOP THIS UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS PRACTICE OF BEING MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE THAN THEY ARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR FURNITURE. WELCOME TO AMERICA.
Description of Work: we bought a love seat & recliner from American signature furniture, 2540 macarthur rd., Whitehall, pa. 18052 on dec. 31, 2011. approximately, feb., mar, or april of 2012, we had service work performed on rocker recliner. the pull cord for the leg lift did not work when you were sitting on the chair. it worked fine when you simply pulled the cord and there was no weight load on the chair. the repairman came to house, replaced the cord assembly, wd-40'd it up and it worked fine for awhile. then, it started to act up again. however, I was selling my house and I didn't have time to deal with it. it appears that the weight of the person sitting on it caused the chair to sink down and this caused the leg lift to hang up, so replacing the cord actually had no effect. it seems that the longer we used the chair, the worse the problem became. I attribute that to the poor construction of the chair. it began to slowly sag as it was being used everyday and eventually you felt like you were sitting in a hole in the chair. as I said, I was tied up with preparing my house for sale and everything that goes with it, plus it wasn't my chair, it was my wife's chair and she didn't complain enough to me about it for me to contact the company, so I let it go. then , we moved out of state in September of 2012.

It has been fine and I have not had any repairs. I bought the first round of furniture in February 2010 when we originally moved here and we have the last of the second round of brand new furniture coming in tomorrow. They are wonderful. Our sales person was Janet Harvey and she was amazing. She recognized us from when we walked in. It had been a year since we had seen her before and she remembered our kids. She knew that we had moved from California. She was just great. She showed me what I wanted and helped me to pick it up. I am one of those people who would not go back if I am not really impressed and I am not going to remember anything about you. There are some things that could be a little cheaper than what it is but I go there for Janet.
Description of Work: We bought all of my furniture from American Signature Furniture in July 2011. We bought three chairs, two dressers, three night stands and a sleeper sofa futon.
