Description of Work: Replaced a waterbed mattress. The guys removed the old partially drained mattress and took it out to the driveway. Helped me put the new mattress and liner in. They arrived early and were done in about a half hour. Thought through the problems first then acted on the problem. If I need to move, I will call this company.

The dressers had to be carried out the basement door around to the front door to go up the stairs. Description of Work: American Moving did a great job for us. We moved in town, with storage in their truck over night. They stayed with us even though we had to change the date and logistics of our move several times, and helped us find the best solution for us. On the moving days, their staff were quick, efficient, and polite, and nothing was broken or damaged. When the movers provided and incorrect final invoice, they called me to make sure I knew the right number and ask if I had any concerns (which I didn't--the price was lower). I would happily use them again for a future move.

Description of Work: American Moving & Storage helped move my husband and I from a two bedroom apartment to our new home. They were a prompt, hard-working crew. Our comples required a long carry for all of our furniture and boxes, but the guys did a great job and worked as quickly as possible. the move lasted about 8 hours. Great team to work with!

Description of Work: I contacted American Moving and Storage for a quote for movers. We moved just 2 blocks away and planned to handle much of the smaller work ourselves. We were interested in help moving only our large pieces of furniture. I had previously contacted a national "big name" company and received a quote that I found excessive - 3 men for 5-6 hours at around $800. When I described the move to American Moving and Storage, he quoted me a rate for 2 men and estimated 3-4 hours. I found this to be much more reasonable for the size of the job. On the day of the move, the movers arrived right at the scheduled time and got to work promptly. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. I felt they did not waste time at all. The job was completed in just about 4 hours, which fit the estimate. Overall, hiring movers was a great decision and I felt that American Moving and Storage was worth the money. I would use their services again.

Description of Work: We hired North American Moving and storage in March of 2010 to move my Mom to a new retirement home. The move involved dropping some items off at my home, delivery of several pieces to her new retirement home and storing the rest of the furniture at their warehouse until a larger apartment became available at her new place. She had many antiques and the movers did a great job in this first move. They also did some gluing and repairing on a previously broken item for us. Move#2 was pulling some items from their storage facility, and moving her down the hall to her larger apartment. Move # 3 was after she passed away. They moved her things back to their storage facility until our family could figure out where to go with some beautiful family heirlooms. There were several times Jeff Frank moved some things around for my family to see and discuss. The furniture was handled with care throughout these moves and I felt the price was competitive. We would definitely use them again!

Description of Work: I was very pleased with the service. Prompt arrival. Very quick and efficient, dedicated to completing the move as quickly as possible. Professional and very pleasant. As it turned out, one of the movers found my wedding band on the floor behind a dresser and brought it to my attention rather than pocketing it. Their honesty is commendable, to say the least. Went above and beyond,for example, unrolling carpet and laying it in place, putting a futon mattress, which was not one of the items that they moved, onto daybed. My only disappointment was that when I was settling into my new place, a noticed a couple of items suffered minor scratches/gouges. Nevertheless, I would hire them again. Very competitive rates.

Description of Work: They moved us from a townhome to a 2 story single family home. We were using our garage for storage at the townhome so they moved everything out of the garage which was completely filled and they also moved everything that was inside the townhome. They were on time and worked very hard. It took them approximately 7 hours. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: All my possessions have been moved from an apartment to a house not far away. Jason and Mike showed up on time and moved everything seamlessly within 2 hours despite heavy rain. Everything was put where it should have been and nothing was damaged. I am absolutely happy with the process and the results.
